At last I can share some exciting news with you! Kathy Martin's (ex-editor of Teddy Bear Scene magazine and writer of 'A collecible history of the teddy bear') new venture 'Edwina's Friends' is now open for business!
Kathy has commissioned some beautiful artists bears exclusively for her new online bear shop and gallery (details of the gallery to follow later). 'Edwina's Friends' can now be viewed at www.edwinasfriends.co.uk
Please take a moment to visit!
  How lovely!!! Easy to navigate, and very inviting too. I'm so glad she's sailing forwards in her teddy bear dreams!
A very neat place! I wish her much success with this new endeavor.

I'm so pleased you all took a peek! This is Kathy's dream and I just know that if anyone can put the magic back into selling bears as a shop, Kathy can. She is so committed to teddy bear artistry and such a nice lady too.
By the way, did you notice Kathy is also opening part of her home to guests as a showroom and inviting visitors (by appointment please!) to join her for coffee and cake and plenty of bear chat when they visit?! They will also be invited to view Kathy's personal bear collection, the highlight piece being the very beautiful 'Edwina'!!!

Ouch - I am sure you didn't mean to Paula but the implication here is that the magic has gone from bear shops. My experience is that this is just not true. Silly Bears in Aberdeen celebrated its first birthday party on Saturday. The shop has been a resounding success with a breathtaking selection of artist bears from around the world. Julieann Bruce has worked so hard to make this shop successful. There were loads of collectors that came on Saturday some of whom had travelled a very long way, and bears were flying out of the door when they left. The shop is absolutely beautiful and Julieann only stocks artist and vintage bears no manufactured bears at all. The shop also has a website www.sillybears.co.uk that has been equally successful.
Thanks for letting us know, Paula! The site is really great, and I'm sure Kathy will make a huge success of her new venture.........really exciting

No Dawn, you are right, I didn't mean to imply that at all. I was actually attempting to convey that with the closure of so many UK bear selling shops over recent years, Kathy is a great person to be opening a new one!
