This is my latest rescue. She came to me last night. She is a 9 month old Yorkie whose owner was going to drown her and her brothers. At 9 months they were "too old to sell". So if she couldn't make money on them, just kill them. What a heartless idiot. I have named this one Lady Lillian. Someone else took her 2 brothers. These dogs are an absolute mess. They obviously have never been handled (unless it was with cruelty). They had to use nets to catch them out of the yard they were in. They are terrified of humans and just cower in fear when touched. As you can see, one of Lily's ears seems to be damaged. One of her brothers also has a damaged ear. Who knows how that happened. I just can't believe how cruel people can be. The only reason these little ones were saved, is the woman's son told what was going to happen. He also took the father of the pups out of the home so there will be no more breeding. I can see that I have my work cut out for me, but I can also see a difference in Lily already. She doesn't cower in fear when I touch her now. It's amazing what a little treat from the hand will do.
Dear little Lily, I really don't understand how people can be so cruel to animals, thank goodness the family was rescued

I am so happy for Lillian. Thank God for people like you who step in to help the innocent.

What a dear sweet doggie she is Millie, how could anyone be cruel to such a beautiful little girl...and I'm so glad you chose Lily for a name, it was my grandmother's. I love her little brown boots!
What a sweet little angle. She will bring you so much joy. Love conquers all!!
Hugs

Oh my gosh....doesn't it make your blood boil.....Millie, I'm so glad people like you are on this earth...I hope these puppies recover...I'm just sickened by this sort of stuff....as we all are, I know And yorkies are an "in" breed....at any age, people pay lots for them over here, wonder what this guy was on about.....hugs to you Millie, many of them
Sad to say, but people can be soo "IN"humane! How is the other pupster, the big one doing?
Also sad to say, in these terrible economic times, pets are being unloaded at local shelters and pounds..people just can't afford to feed them, let alone vet bills. Just so sad, so many wonderful, well loved pets that have to be abandoned. I go online and look at our local humane society's website and it tears at your heart. A week ago, in our local paper, one owner posted a 12 year old german shepherd that the owner just couldn't afford to keep anymore!
sad, sad, sad,
Leeann
It's beyond understanding why people do what they do. Lily is a beautiful little girl and I'm sure she will thrive and bloom under your care. They all come to you for a reason, Nina; they know you will take care of them.
Millie,
Don't you just want to strangle some people! I get so angry when I see this kind of abuse. Thank you so much for being such a kind, loving soul. I'm sure Lily will be a lovely little dog, with a lot of patience and kindness. Funny, Lily looks just like your avatar - maybe it was a premonition! I'd love to see an updated picture of the last big fellow you rescued. He must be quite settled now.
hugs,
Brenda
That just makes me so sick to think how cruel and heartless people can be. Thank you for angels like you, Millie , that step in to save these helpless critters. Bless those poor doggies.
Millie, you are one of earths angels. Bless your heart.
Warmest bear hugs,

that makes me so sad to see animals that have been hurt. People like that are SICK and should be behind bars.
We had a sicko here in Denver just last week that tied a baby yorkie to a phone book and place him on the stove! He was saved by neighbors but died at the vets a few days later. It was sooooooo sad. I don't know how someone could do such a thing, they don't deserve to be here. At least I know they won't be in heaven someday!
GOD BLESS you for giving her a new loving life!

It is so unbelievable what people will do to animals, Thanks to you for taking her in, Lillian is soo cute. I hope she comes around quickly. It is such a shame.
We took the new dog to the vet Monday and he thinks she might have been a working dog.
How utterly awful - thank goodness for people like you , Millie. It's hard to imagine what that poor little scrap has been through.........but I'm sure she will pick up in no time, with your loving care..........I wish you and Lillian lots of love and fun together.
big huggies
Maria
Yes, you are truly an angel, Nina! I'm so very pleased that this little Yorkie family had such good luck to be separated from that cruel person. Bless you for your kindness.
Lily's father has already been adopted out. Her two brothers have gone to a facility where they will be worked with to socialize them and then they will be adopted. I have never seen a pup who is so scared as Lily. I do believe she was abused. She seems to think and outstretched hand means pain.
As for the big dog I took in a while back, he had been lost and was reunited with his owners after 2 weeks here. The last time I talked with them, he was lounging around the house getting the king's treatment.
I can't understand how people can be so cruel
She is so lucky to have found someone so kind and caring as you
Laurie
How can people be so cruel makes me so upset that there are people that could even think like that.
Lady Lillian is so sweet and thank you for your kindness in rescuing the Little Lady.
You are a real Angel Millie and I wish you all the very best with your new Pup.
Hugs
Carolyn

Millie,
I'm glad to hear the big fella found his family and he's doing well. So nice that you were there to give him a safe place until he could be re-united with his owners.
Lily is such a sweet baby - I wish I could give her a long cuddle. Give her a hug from me.
hugs,
Brenda
A thousand thank you's to you Millie for taking this gorgeous little poppet under your wing. I don't know how people have it in them to be so cruel. What would our animals do without people like you to step in and rescue them. You are wonderful.
People like that woman shouldn't be allowed around animals!
Thank God, there are wonderful people in the world like you Millie you saved that sweet little dog's life...I will never understand how any sane person can contemplate hurting an animal, those poor harmless little puppies
, it just breaks your heart, and makes me so angry.
As far as I'm concerned people that treat animals in that manner should be thrown into jail and the key tossed away, they don't deserve to live in our society.
Thank goodness for people like you Millie
oops read the first two line and stopped. If I was to find these people I would easily drown them.
Lynette
OMG. I have tears in my eyes. How can people be so cruel. Bless you for taking her in and giving her a loving home. I admire people like you. She looks like your Ad logo. She is still young, so you can give all the love and wash those nasty memories away. If my partner would let me I would save every creature that came my way too. But he cant stand us having 2 dogs and 1 cats. But he has to live with it cos I can't live without these litlle lovable creatures.
There should be more people like you in this world.
