My nursing group had a 30th anniversary this week (I must have started training when I was in nappies LOL) and they had a dinner that was in Adelaide 1500 kms away. I decided that I was going to use some savings with a combination of very cheap airfares and went along - I didn't want to miss out. We had a ball and even though I only spent the day in Adelaide (2nights) not only did I get to the reunion but I got to spend a day with my elderly parents. Do I feel guilty at the amount of money spent? Absolutely not! Although maybe a little regret when I think how much mohair I could have bought instead!! Moral: Go right ahead and do it.
Good on you Clare, great that you enjoyed yourself at the anniversary and also that you was able to visit your parents, they must have been thrilled to see you. It doesn't sound a waste of money at all, I would have done just the same...mohair can come later, you will always have memories of your trip and thats precious.
Hugs, Jane.
You go, girl! Everyone deserves a little time for themselves . . . do something you enjoy at least once a week.
Good for you!!!
I spend about $500.00 a month on just pampering myself. :)
My husband says I deserve it and I agree!! hehe!!
All kidding aside it is nice to do things just for yourself. Especially when you sacrifice so much for everyone else.
It's been almost 3 years since I took a frivolous trip and it was to Las Vegas to meet my dear friend Denise Purrington in Las Vegas and to see the Teddy Bear/Toby Awards Show. Although my health doesn't allow me to travel much it is nice to have a husband that doesn't begrudge me a thing!!
Fantastic Clare, I'm so glad you went and had a good time
