I'd like you to meet the newest member of our family Moki!
He is a 10 week old Greencheek Conure and such a sweet little boy with lots of energy!
We bought him home yesterday and it already feels like he's been part of the family for years. I also bought home a breeding pair of Green cheeks but have been unable to take any piccies are they are spending most of the time in their nest box, the breeder said they were working the nest box to lay another clutch of eggs, so hopefully we will have some little babies come along soon
I hope you like the piccies
Oh what a sweetie!
And i'm highly amused about you bringing home a breeding pair who have immediately disappeared into their nesting box - ain't Nature wonderful?
I'm sure you are going to have lots of fun with your new babies!

As a parrot lover and owner of many years, let me say you have made such a wonderful choice. Conures are very comical and sweet birds. I see he is already enjoying family meals. One of mine has been eating dinner with us ever night for more than 10 years.
Are you going to handfeed your new babies?
Joanne
Hi Joanne, We feel we have made a great choice as well, we also have 5 other parrots 4 Indian Ringnecks 3 of which were hand raised and are tame and one Alexandrine who was also handfed and is tame, They are all wonderful birds, but this little guy has a very different personality to the Asiatics, we are over the monn with him
If we have babies I will definatley be handraising them
Two of my ringnecks had chicks a few years ago and the mum didn't know what to do with them so I hand raised them from day old hatchlings, it was alot of hard work but I really enjoyed it
Oh Congrats
He is beautiful, i really love the first picture of him. You are going to have so much fun. My African grey is 14 weeks now and she is so funny.
Hugs

He's so cute!
Oh my gosh he is adorable!!!! Good luck with your breeding pair too! I had a cockatiel that I got when he was 7 weeks old... and hand fed. He was such a sweetheart! When we got our whippets, they wanted to stalk him so I gave him to the daughter of my best friend. He's still alive today at 19 years!! (and yes, he still remembers me!)
Very sweet! Congratulations!
What a little cutie, such a sweet face!
Adorable!
Such a sweet face.
Oh... he's beautiful, such a sweet face!!
thankyou everyone, I'll try and post some more piccies when I can, but it is proving difficult as he doesn't sit still unless he is asleep most pics are turning out to be a blurr !
How sweet.....and isn't mother nature wonderful...just look at those colours!!! Really pretty
cute! I don't know much about birds. Will Moki get any bigger? What do they eat?

Hi, I love Teddies, Moki is pretty much his adult size, I would say he is similar in size to a Cockatiel with a shorter tail. I have all of my birds on a diet of fresh small parrot mix seed, parrot pellets and a selection of fresh fruits and veggies daily and sometimes they will get cooked rice, chickpeas and lentils.
Oh he is beautiful...Will he talk?
He is a gorgeous bird!
I love parrots too... I've only had cockatiels and lovebirds, but my sister used to raise some bigger parrots. I used to raise lovebirds, but it is a lot of work, so now we just have one pet lovebird. They are wonderful pets!

Hi Michelle, I'm very new to conures but from everything I have read says that they can talk but have gravely voices that can be difficult to understand. My Alexandrine named Gulliver is a fantastic talker and uses words that are appropriate to what is going on around him, he even puts his own emotions into the words, and he loves to laugh when something amuses him!
Here's some more of my babies...
The first pic is of Gulliver my Alexandrine, the Second pic are some of my Indian Ringencks and was taken a few years ago the Yellow is Lucy, the Blue Pepe, and the two greens are Lilly and Jake, sadly Lilly escaped a not long after this photo was taken and we never found her; the last pic is of George the Indian Ringneck, he is the only one that isn't tame.
Oh MY!!!!
Such beautiful, well cared for birds!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!
Dear Ann-Marie: That is wonderful to have talking birds. I know some are so smart. Your pictures of all your babies are fantastic.
What a sweetie!
