I have been down to our local pound shop and bought loads of "Clippie Boxes".

I have labelled each box with a sticker of whats inside, or in some cases a sample ie: various joints.  No box has too many different type items inside. One contains ribbons, another lace collars and so on.

The reason I did this was because I have come to the conclusion that I might make more bears (and finish 'jobs in progress') if I could find the items I needed quickly instead of have to wade through everything to get what I needed.

It has been a pleasure to find things quickly!

bear_wub Thats a good thing, me, I am so bad that when I can't find something i go out and buy it again.  LOL  but I have organized and things are better than they used to be.  I have mine in tubs, in the car,in the storage spot and in my room. its a never ending race for space.  How is the knee and the ankle?  Hope they are good.
Have a great day and talk to you again soon.
Hugs Pat

Hi Pat.

Knee and ankle not TOO bad.    I have found I can now get up fairly easily - before I was kind of bent double and had to slowly straighten like someone in their nineties.  This is a big improvement.  Got so used to hobbling I'm finding it difficult to walk "normally".

Yes, sometimes  I have been known to go and buy stuff again - then a couple of days later the original one turns up!  I have bought a beautiful (and very pretty)and expensive pair of scissors recently - they have gone "walkabouts" as has my Clover bradawl - one of my favourite pieces of bearmaking equipment - it is so useful and TACTILE - fits in the hand so well.

Good for you!   We are in the process of adding an addition and renovating, so soon I will actually have a room just for my bear related items.  I'll still spend a lot of time working in the living room so I can be with my family, but it will be a relief to be able to find needed items quickly.  bear_grin

Yay, I love being organised, the storage section of B&Q is one of my favourite places to shop  bear_wub

Pat I am the same way. I can't find something, I go out and buy another one. It is not worth the headache of searching for it. I really need to get organized!!!

I have a plastic set of drawers that I put things in.  One for Eyes, another for joints, a two largers ones for pattern pieces.  I have a wall in our storage room with selves covers in fabrics and mohair.  So I just grab and go and the drawers are on wheels so I can move it around.  Only problem is I sometime have to go look for the drawers.  My husband wheeled it under our dining room table one day (which is counter height and very large) and I was frantic looking for it.  Lucky me our bunny got out and ran under the table and I found it. *laugh*.

bear_wub leave it to the husband to help you out and hide it.  LOL  good thing the bunny got out.  I have a rolling plastic drawer set also, they are great because you can look thru them and see sorta what is inside.
Have a great day all!

I haven't any storage stuff yet, but I plan to buy some if I find anything that fits into my little room. At the moment, I have all my bear making supplies either in my sewing basket (like the tweezers to turn little pieces) or in a carton as I used to pile all my stuff up near me on my couch in the living room and had to store the stuff somewhere (my dad was getting angry at me lol)

Actually my husband is very good about the bear stuff.  He tries to help where he can.  Last night we went to a fabric store that was going out of business to find something to cover my table with at my up coming show.  He said what would happen if I found teddy bear fabric.  There was so much stuff everywhere I told him I didn't think it would be possible.  5 minutes later he walked back with blue fabric with teddy bears printed all over it.  There was nothing else that was interesting.  I just got some simple grey fabric to cover the table because it was neutral.

But he said he was going to find teddy bear fabric and he did.  He also made me buy 2 pairs of fabulous siccors.  You don't put your fingers through holes you just squeeze the handles together and cut, cut, cut, so much easier on the hands.
