This is the exact reason I stopped eating meat 4 yrs ago........Please watch.
awww...what a happy ending for Maxine.
Hi Tami
It was lovely to Maxine in her santuary - I also have the greatest respect of your vegitarian for 4 years.
Seeing the pile of dead beef cattle really brings it home to one doesn't it. But surely it is the quality of life before death and how humane the end is performed that is the most important issue.
Being a fan of Gordon Ramsey (well someone's got to be!) I always followed the progress of his "home reared" animals right through to slaughter. And to be honest I didn't find it hard to watch - having said that they were small run concerns unlike the commercial slaughterers.
I have also seen clips where the treatment of animals leave a lot to be desired - animals being kicked, pigs being dragged along by their ears. Appalling!
I WISH I could kick the meat habit - I am afraid I like too much.
Love the fact that Maxine escaped - it reminds me of our famous British piggies "The Tamworth Two" who escaped and evaded capture for several weeks. They too, where rewarded with their lives at an animal sanctuary!
Thanks for the story, Tami

Thanks for sharing this, Tami. It's certainly "food for thought," as they say.
