In 1995, I began creating my artist bears and gave each bear a certificate of authentication detailing the specifics of the character, together with a swing tag care card and side labels.
If you have either lost or did not receive one - I have started to re-issue them to ensure that your collection is fully verified by myself.
With digital technology, it is now possible for me to add a photo of your collectable to the certificate too - which will provide further clarification for future generations.
Over the years some pieces of my work have lost their clothing, had them changed, tags removed and even side labels cut out. I would like the opportunity to bring these back to their original state and give you the collector the documentation that will be so important to your investment in the future.If you find a bear that appears to be one of mine, it would be advised to contact me directly and I will be able to verify whether it is a true bear made by myself. It is unfortunate to say that there does seem to be copies that arise on the secondary market and I would hate to think that a collector invests in a bear that I did not actually make.
Having full authentication of each of your bears/animals will ensure that your collection will hold its true value over time.
This service is for all my soft sculpture work including bears bearing either the 'Portobello Bear Co.' label or the 'Amy Goodrich Collectables' label.
I am also most happy to work with you if you have purchased a genuine bear of mine but it lacks its original character to bring it back to its former glory by adorning it with a chosen outfit and accessories.
This is an ongoing service and the fee charged is merely to cover the cost of printing and paper costs. Simply specify how many certificates you wish to have made and click to make a purchase on my etsy gallery - www.etsy.com/shop/amygoodrich .

Hi,
Just wanted to share with you this large dapple - she is the first of her kind....a fully jointed composition sitting horse. Inspired by early schoenhut wooden animals, she has a look of being wooden and the finish of her painting & varnishing enhances that aged look.
Has anyone else found using sculptural materials within their soft sculpture work a real thrill?

Meet the first members of the Gooba-la's - the followers of Gooba the spiritual - the seeker of wordly wisdom and truth.
Pandalicious (Panda Gooba-la), Washington (Bear Gooba-la), Billyboy(Koala Gooba-la), Witchipuss (Cat Gooba-la)
These characters are very distinctive in their appeareance - they all have large heads and over sized inset glass eyes.
I wanted to share them with you - I have listed them on pbco.bearpile.com and had some trouble with the system - poor Washington has appeared over and over again!!

Hi there bear friends, just getting settled into Ireland. Just navigating myself around the net and getting used to cyberspace. Love to chat bears with everyone out there. I am a full time working bear artist and collector. I love Susan Tantlingers work, Pat Murphy and many other artists.......My passion is animals - I live surrounded by Geese, ducks ,chickens and rescued cats and dogs.
