Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Yes I won yeah!!! with 'Pudding'  It is my first "Peoples Choice" and I was so excited I could hardly breath!!

The Toby award Ceremony was at TBAI and it was done really well with all the nominees getting flowers and the announcements were done on a big screen, the awards breakfast was well attended so there was a great atmosphere. I think that Facebook has taken a lot of people off here and like Joanne I too announced it on my FB page
I also think that the official announcement will be made in the next issue of Teddy Bear & Friends.

The girls from TB & Friends did a great job and took lots of photos of happy winners!!!

I think it is a shame that more people are not shouting about things on here but I have noticed  how little traffic there seems to be maybe we should all try and get it going again.

I am an Artist of the 90s (showing my age there) so I am very passionate about keeping the BIG competitions going and love all the razzmatazz!! of the awards ceremony so yes Jenny I have to agree that the new "Excellence in Bear Artistry Awards" will be up there in the list of Prestigious awards to aspire to.  We now have an International Award in the UK to be proud of.

Well it is a very exciting time in the UK with just 24hrs until the Olympics, we are all waiting with baited breath to see who will be the Final Torch Bearer of the London 2012 games but the secret is finaly out.............

I decided I wanted to do something extra special to commemorate this monumentous occasion and so I have created 'Olly' (the final torch-bearer)

Olly has been made from wonderful golden coloured mohair, he is 9" and carries his very own official torch replica (the torches them selves were made as a limited edition and are really hard to get hold of) he is dressed in his torch bearers uniform like all the other bearers before him only I had to make his by hand - as the real ones wont fit him!

I have made Olly as one of my 'Katies Diamond Collection' to make him extra special, so he has a genuine diamond in his nose

To give everyone a chance to get hold of him I am putting him on a 1 DAY Auction on Ebay starting at 8pm BST tonight and finishing just before the opening ceremony - I will send out the link for the listing as soon as it goes live - so watch this space

OMG LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!   After a mass clear out of my spare bedroom I found this covered in an inch of dust but after a quick clean up he is as good as new. I remember the day I won it like it was yesterday - those where the days!!! Brings back lots of wonderful memories.   This was  when the Awards where big affairs (like winning the Oscars) a big Awards Dinner in a London Hotel.

Let me know if you remember those Glory Days and are still making bears

Big Thanks to everyone who came to The Great Yorkshire Teddy Bear Event on Sunday and made our 2nd year an even Bigger Success than last year. The Stands looked fantastic and the bears on offer were amazing!!!  Lots of happy collectors left with lots of bags so well done everyone - Heres to next year being even bigger!!  Bookings have already started to come in for next year so I am over the moon - long may it continue to grow

What am I like LOL! I wasnt feeling well so went up to my room for 15 minutes to Skype my husband so I guess that when the photo was taken - You guys made me feel so welcome the weekend was fantastic and made even better by all the wonderful people I met
