Oh I will, thank you so much!
It is a great strength of Teddy Talk to have someone willing to show other places for support, because in the end it's all about supporting others to do the great thing of making those teddies!
I had to take a day or so away from it before pickign it back up. I didn't want to be angry about it so I have humbled myself with nature and remember that life is too short to be angry...so move past that and then get back to work. lol
I will be working on it today... at least I have a model now to show myself what I would like to fix. Yippy!
I joined the yahoo group. I am currently working on creating my own pattern.... I am very frustrated. Going to go on the yahoo group to get some tips.
Where in the US can I find this book?
I am looking online and it shows how to make them, this is certainly what I wanted. I keep doing different patterns I have in my head but nothing is coming out like I want it. I have a certain look to this bear in my head. I know I'll get it, it will take some time.
I think I found a company..they are in the US and although she doesn't have the eyelids on her site she says she can get them for me.
She said that she has seen the eyes that have the wider pupil so it looks more like a young animal but didn't want to sell them at her shop because they were not up to standard and a danger. I am so glad I asked her about them.
I am hoping this works out with her so I'll let you know. OH and she also sells noses and her shipping is cheap.
I checked with them and they dont have the baby alive eyes I am looking for. I found out that it's a supplier i'm looking for not a manufacturer. They can be made anywhere, I am looking for someone in the US to ship them to me.
I can't seem to find any supplier that has these cute eyes.
I was looking for "alive eyes, and eyelids". I can't seem to find any place in the US that sells them, am i looking in the wrong place?
Prayers for a continuing to recover ! May I ask what disease?
I have a thyroid disease(Grave's Disease), it's been in remission for almost 5 years now and I am not taking any meds for it so am very thankful for that. I do hope you continue with getting better, glad to see you here.
Thank you Berta! I will go there as well.
Last year I tried a pattern that called for making the head, then crochet the muzzle and sewing it onto the head. It didn't work me, it was just a mess.
So I'm wondering if I should try to crochet the head and muzzle together instead of separately. Has anyone done this and if so how is it done, is it increasing or decreasing?
Thanks
Thank you for the information. I will look at you site and also google some things.
The bear I made last year was orginally a pattern I found online. I had to tweek it so much that I decided that I might as well just make one of my own. I know the basics of what is needed, it's just getting it onto paper which I didn't think I was good at till I had to for this.
I had such a hard time last year with that pattern, the muzzle had to be sewn on and it just never centered right, I had a horrible time taking it off and on. I want to do something where it's only one piece and one color.
My daughter wants a heart on one of the cheeks instead of both, and a heart on one arm instead of hearts on both paws. So I working on the other leg which I already screwed up on. But it's fixable.
I wrote down the pattern as I made it, so with the other leg I am using the pattern to see if it is usable the way it is. I screwed up with the heart so it threw everything else off. I didn't get far at all so I'm happy I didn't waste to much time.
I also had a hard time last year with sewing on a nose, well my teddy looks sad. Everyone tells so. So this year I'm surely going to go with a plastic one. Of course daughter wants a pink one so I will be looking for that as well.
Also what do you stuff the crocheted bears with ?
I used fiber fill (fluff) and it comes out of the openings.
I am sorry I can not help you, just wanted to say sorry that her mom passed away and that teddy bear was thrown out.
Hi! Glad to see you here, the bear is beautiful. This will be my 2nd bear so I am not confident at all yet.
What types of yarns do you use for crocheting bears? Do you brush them out to give them different looks? I am scared to do that so wondering what others do.
This is the paw, I have to make the paws with the right number of claws(5), I can't help it. My kids find this funny! :-)
The bottom is a heart which is what my daughter wanted.
Hopefully I will get both legs done tonight and work on the arms tonight as well.
I see in the archives that several years ago there were bear makers that used crochet only. I'd like to know if you are still around to chat . Thanks!
Greetings to all! I had to put that project on hold for a very long time. My dd7 took the teddy bear that I crocheted from last year and has been sleeping with it. I finally told her I would work hard to make her one of her own the way she wanted it.
I think I have been successful in making a heart I needed in order to make the feet. I will post a pic when I get a bit more of it done so you can see it. It has been frustrating because I do not know how to create crochet items of my own. I am learning though.
I'm excited but don't want to get too excited because I have no clue if this will work... wish me luck please.
There is a special place in hell for that &@##^@&*^&, I hope he rots there too! I have more to say but can't because I don't want to be banned from this forum for poor language.
Prayers for this animal and all that have been hurt by anyone. I hope karma happens to those who dare hurt an animal.
Good luck with the training!!!! Great job!
I just wanted to say...this was very nice of you all. Good luck with the things you get to use heidibear...i'd love to see what you make!
Sorry to ask this here but wasn't sure where to ask it.
Is there a contact# for North American Bear? I ask because I have a few questions about the collared bears.
Thanks
Thank you!
Thank you all so much for the info!!!
I talk to my "Tiger" and my Tiger and the other Tiger... YES they are all named Tiger. And yes the one I crocheted is called Tiger as well. I was just a little girl and the name stuff and I fear change so I keep it for them all!!!!!! DH doesn't question me talking to Tiger... I sooooo enjoy the looking at scissors then looking at dh statement!!! ROFL!!!
I have seen a lot of bears here on this site, i would like to know if you sew it by hand and if so did it take a lot of practice to get it just right? The work is beautiful!!!
Or do you use a machine?
Thanks
Terrie, I would love to know where you get the eyes from? My daughters would love those type of bright awesome looking eyes!
Well I looked around the internet and in some library books, I see that hearts are created by taking a bigger stitch and then putting in some smaller ones and so on and so on..
So I am working on one to see if I can make one of my own.
I made one but I really didn't like it, it seemed off some how so back to the drawing board. I know there are many out there but I want my own pattern so that the credit is all mine... I hope I am not being selfish.. I'd really like my dd6 to say mom made this and really mean that I made the whole thing. Not get bits and pieces from other patterns and put something together for her.
Hoping I figure out how I want this heart to look.
It will deffinately be insteresting! I'm thinking of hearts in rounds so that I can do the paw pads with a red heart and pink claws. I'm thinking hdc(half double crochet) would give a tighter hole because what I did with this one you can see a lot of spaces in between and I did them tightly.
Throwing ideas around on paper and on here so I don't forget them!
