WOW!!!!!
He is absolutely brilliant!!!!! What a SWEETIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your sister will be very happy, I'm sure.
Wonderful! What a nice guy!!!!
Oh, I forgot...
When he is dryed after being frozen, you can "wash" him with baby shampoo foam and a soft bruch. But only foam, no water. Then dry him with a soft towl.
Hugs,
Dani
Hi Sophie,
Firt of all, I would take the bear in a plastic bag and then into the freezer for nearly 14 days... To clear this poor bear from all, that maybe lives inside him. As I see on the photos I'm very sure, there are some moths or sometihing inside him.
After this time, the bear should be "cleared". Take him off the freezer and let him dry as slow as possible.
Now, he is perfect prepared for restoring.
I would let him as he is mostly, but would repair his paws, sew the broken seam, sew in his old eyes in and, this is nearly the most difficult thing, would stuff his snout a little and give him a new nose and mouth.
Maybe, you can give him a new growler, but I wouldn't.
At least would brush him all over and that's it.
By this way, he will not lose his old charm.
Hope, this will help a little?
I have added a picture of a bear I restored a few years ago.
If you need any help, you can always email me, if you want.
Many regards,
Dani
Oh my dear!!!! What a little sweety!!!
I also hope, you will keep him. He looks so absolutely sweet, if I would live near you, I would take him...
(Ok, my cat would not be so happy about that... )
I'm sure, there is something that can be don for him. But the biggest thing that helps is LOVE.
One of my cats, that unfortunately died 1 1/2 year ago, was very, very sick. We took her sick from the shelter, knowing that she will not rest with us a long time, but with all the love we gave to her, she had a wonderful year with us. Our vet said, if she did not have got so much love, she would have died earlier.
So, love can do many things. I'm sure, he will make it!

Just let me say too: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
I'm glad, my mother does not see this, because if she does, she will tell me all the time, how much she wants to become a grandmother...
But I think, we just should bring the wedding behind us and then let's see.
All best wishes to your family!!!
Dani
WOW, this is really a great cruise!
I believe you have had much work with this, Jane. But it is absolutely brilliant!!!
Dani
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments!
At the moment I'm working n a new kitty-cat. Will show her (or maybe him) soon.
Hugs,
Dani
Thanks all of you so much, that you like my kitty.
Wendy, thank you for the idea. Never thought about that. I only decorated the hat on the top, but surely on this picture, you can't see it...
But it is a very good idea! Will keep it for my next creations.
Hugs,
Dani
    GREAT!
Hi Heather!
I really understand you... I will get married in September and thought about the name a long time.
I would lie, if I say that I will not miss my name... Was my name for 28 years...
But I decided to take my boyfriend's name.
And on the other side, it makes no difference, if I have to spell his or my name. Both are not very easy. So what?
But if I was you, I think I would keep my name. WING is very nice. I really like that name.
It is no easy decision...
HAve you asked your boyfriend to take your name? I know, not many men would do that, but maybe...
Beary regards,
Dani
Hi Sophie,
Unfortunately, I do not know the name for the UK's drink, but look here:
This is a seller for Kool Aid in the UK . Hope, this may help?
Beary regards,
Dani
Thank you Eileen. I will copy the text into here when finished. :photo:
Just another question to those who are interested in the workshop: Would you like to get the whole workshop translated or chapter 4 only, where it is discribted how to make the mouth open and close?
Beary regards,
Dani
I love this cute little bunny! Wonderful!!!
Oh, Sania is really very lovely!!!!
WOW!!!!!!
This is a cat dedicated to my favourite tv-cat as I was young...
In Germany she is called Katze mit Hut, what would mean Cat with had, but this wonderful Cat-Lady has nothing to do with this "Cat-with-a-hat-Story".
It was a puppet-series from the "Augsburger Puppenkiste" http://www.augsburger-puppenkiste.de
Because as a child I always tried to have this cat, a few months ago I granted this wish to myself in creating this cat.
She is made of off-white Schulte-Mohair and has 60 years old blue glass eyes from Thüringen/Germany. Also she has a full sceleton in her body so she can move in every position she wants. Her dress is handmade, too.
A came-true girl's dream.
Just another photo:
Hi everyone!
Sorry not for showing you some photos as promised, but a little "hot" summer cold has caught me, so I had to stay in bed the last days...
Lucky me, beginning of the new week, I'm feeling much better. Why those things most time happen at the weekend?
Ok, I hope, I'm through with it...
Now, as promised, I would like to introduce you PURSCILLA.
She's a proto-type for a new pattern. There are some things I need to change and she's not completely finished (the paws), but I really love her, so she is sitting next my bed.
She is made of grey 80 years old mohair and mohair in off-white. Her glass-eyes are hand-painted and the face is completely needle-sculpted.
I hope, you will enjoy her.
   Ok, I see, no good idea to translate with Babelfish...
I don't know, why the pics have gone...
Anyway, I will do my best to translate this workshop. As said, will take some time, but I will do as fast as I can. Promised!
Just one question: Is there a way to upload a text-file or something at the forum?
Dani
Great minds think alike, I've been pondering that question for a few months now
So have I, Kelly--such a clever group as we are should be able to work this out!
In "A Bear of My Own", Rotraud Ilisch shows a lion with a mouth that opens and closes, but doesn't explain how!
She might be using wire. It's certainly worth a try--maybe with magnets embedded in the front ends of the upper and lower mouth?
I've been thinking of trying the kind of cabinet hinge that holds the door open at a 90 degree angle (so it doesn't swing too wide), and then pulls the door shut when the it's closed to about a 20 degree angle from the frame. It's done with springs. I think these are called 'self-closing' cabinet hinges, but I haven't had time yet to pursue the idea.
Rotraud Ilisch has an online bear school in Germany, but actually only in German. At this school there is an open workshop for everyone how to create an open mouth that can be closed and re-opened (this is explained in chapter 4). And yes, she uses wire for that.
Here's the link:

If your are interested, I could translate the workshop... Would take a little time, I think, but that would be no problem.
