If they are cotton sneakers, I would wash them in hot water in the washing machine and either add a little little bit of black or tea dye or a piece of clothing that fades in the wash. I think something should look scruffy and tatty not be scruffy and tatty but that's JMHO!
. And wouldn't you know it, Friday my interac card was cancelled by the bank cause there had been a fraud gang in town during the week switching keypads at different stores. They were worried that my card had been compromised! Would have been nicer if they had warned me first so I wasn't embarrased by not being able to complete a $15 purchase at Walmart though.

This happened to me too - only it was HomeDepot. The cashier went on and on about how tough it was to be low on funds and I'm thinking "If I was this low on funds, do you really think I'd be buying a large box of lightbulbs!!!????"

Spectacular photo!!! Even praying mantises can feel the urge to celebrate!
I guess he got what he was praying for!
My physiotherapist is also an acupuncture practioner and the medic for my city's rugby team. She said the big tough players were a 'hard sell' on acupuncture at first but now she says at any given time during a match she has 4-5 guys on their backs with needles in their toes! I love it! I don't know that it works for everybody but it sure helped me with some chronic pain issues I had after some surgery. 99.9% of the time I didn't feel the needles going in & I just chose not to watch. It can't hurt to try but make certain that the person is qualified -any quack can say they do acupuncture (at least here in Canada).
Tender hugs,
Cheryl
I pray everything goes smoothly for you! How exciting!

...and very grand fairy shoes they are! Any fashionable young fairy would be delighted to wear these!
Congratulations to your daughter on a job well done.

Maybe you could call them "4 O'clock bears or AfterHours bears"?
The leadership coach, Ken Blanchard, talks about a form of leadership called 'The Seagull'. They lurk off to the side then fly in, make a lot a pointless squawking, sh*t all over everybody & leave. That's all people like the above mentioned are..."Seagull posters" and their tactics are just as ineffective and pointless.
Only you know what's best for you, but FB seems to get their pathetic jollies over upsetting nice folks like you-don't let them win!
   's for you

 That's terrific...good for him! There's no pride like the pride a Mom feels for her kids!
Congratulations!
Your little 'rat girly' is just lovely! How do the other girls feel about her?
Hey Tami,
I have a blue and red Crown Tail male Betta. I have always loved these fish as they are so colourful and graceful in the water. I don't know much about them other than I clean his tank every week, change the foliage occasionally to give him something to look at and they eat very little food.
Here Is a pic of Spike,
Sorry I couldn't be of more help...Jer
That's funny Jeremy...our Betta looks exactly the same & his name is Spike too!

In Canada (not sure how it is for the rest of you) our milk comes in large 4 litre plastic jugs & after washing it makes great template plastic for smaller bears. It's recycling & its cheap & sturdy!
That would be "Thrifty Cheryl's tip of the Day"
  I also tend to sit on the edge of my seat when sewing or working on a bear.
Me too! For me it comes from being a former cellist...my teacher would come & whack you on the rear end with a violin bow if you weren't perched on the edge of your seat. Pretty dangerous in an office chair with wheels!
I also hold my breath when I sew or read. I'm not really aware of it until all of a sudden my DH will shout out "WOULD YOU BREATHE ALREADY!"
Cheryl
Thanks Jeremy! I just finished my breakfast in bed!

OOOO I am totally an orange lovin' girl but the cream coloured guy makes my heart go pitty pat
Your work is truly spectacular!

I was saddened to receive this letter too. I loved doing their shows & I was really sad when I had to come to the realization that they just were not financially viable for me anymore. I think there is still a place for the smaller "boutique" style shows but I do think the era of the "mega" shows like Schaumburg is over FOR NOW.
Thanks for the memories Amber & Connie!
Sounds like you've gotten some good advice Judi! Best of luck!
Just curious...what's Pilchards in Tomato Sauce?

Please everyone...check out the Snopes link that SueAnn posted.
The WSPCA has investigated and even they are unsure of what has happened here. Chances are that things are not as they appear - just check it out!
Good tips Deb! I had to do some quick conversions because we buy our gas by the litre but we are paying approximately $5.06 per gallon & we have some of the lower prices in Canada. Funny thing is that the province where I live, is probably the richest in Canada with our income mostly from oil! We actually sell it and buy it cheaper from somewhere else!
I've already pulled up all of my poppy plants, as they have come and gone. I did cut the tops off so that I could harvest the seeds. The little buggers seem to spread like wildfire, but they sure are pretty, especially when you have 50 or 60 blooming in one spot like I do. Luann
I was all excited today because my poppies are finally poking through the ground!

How exciting! Its been awhile for this old married chickie but I agree with everyone else - just be yourself, wear something comfy & not too tight, smell really good & wear the best accessory - a warm smile!
Be sure to tell us all about it!

Completed head first (except ears are pinned because sometimes the 'look' changes when the whole bear is together ), arms (placement measured after the heads on) and then legs a couple of days later...I hate doing foot pads so I put it off as long as possible!

I don't need the gluten free but I read this blog because she's committed to using her slowcooker everyday for a year which is something that appeals to me. It just so happens that her kids need gluten free. Great recipes and I think a lot of the things she uses are on the web.
