Those ornaments are so gorgeous! I'm still waiting but I got a nice card from Denise at Bearly Kidz Bears a couple of days ago to say that she is the one sending my ornament. The card says..."Just a note your ornament will most likely be a little late, he didn't want to be just a head, he wanted a body too!"
So at least I know he isn't bouncing around on a mail truck somewhere out in B.C.! I hope Denise can send him soon as my tree is taking up a lot of room in my little house, lol! I can't wait to get him so I can send a picture for the tree! Am I the last one?
Hugs, Pearl
I haven't received my ornament yet! I hope it doesn't arrive in July, lol! It never fails! When I do an ornament or present exchange Murphy's Law insists that mine will be the lost one or the last one or the one that gets lost in the holiday mail! Didn't we have to have the ornaments out by the last week of December? The poor little thing could be travelling in the back of a bumpy old mail van for a month! Or bouncing around in the cargo of a plane feeling quite frazzled! Oh dear!
I haven't received my ornament yet either. But I'm keeping my Christmas tree up as long as necessary to display him/her! I don't intend to put him away either, he'll be in my studio with me year 'round! Hugs, Pearl
I hope he comes soon!
Mine's ready too! Can't wait!
I would love to join too! Hugs, Pearl
I'd like to join in too!
Thanks Shane! I will definately! I'm looking forward to the show! Hugs, Pearl
Hello Everyone! Hope the summer is going well! I just made plans to go to TBAI. I've never been to a big show like this. I'm going as a collector and hoping that next year I can go as an artist. I'm just wondering if any other Canadian artists are planning to attend and what specific events they are going to?
Thanks for the info people! Danni, you're really sweet to say that! I think your bears are just as sweet as can be! Hugs, Pearl
Hello Everyone!
Since Ebay is getting kind of slow for the summer, I've thought about posting some bears for adoption at www.bearpile.com. I used to post some there but haven't for a long time. I think it's $10 a month now. What has other people's experience been? Thanks for your input! Hugs, Pearl
Eliza: We have more in common than you think! I also use my middle name instead of my first, always have, parents I guess! That's neat about the book! I would love to see how your story is coming along! Hopefully you'll tell me about it one day! I think your bears are adorable too!!!! One day I will own one of yours too! And take very good care of her or him I might add!!!! Very nice to meet you! Hugs, Pearl
Hi Eliza: I have an anxiety disorder too. I find making bears very relaxing and soothing as I practice alternative coping methods to help myself (breathing techniques, rest, exercise, etc.). My bears have allowed me to go to work part-time now instead of full-time (my work is not conducive to health and relaxation, lol), so selling my bears is helping to keep me in a comfortable place more. However, I will work extra hard to keep a bear as a little gift to myself. I don't keep many, perhaps 15 at most, and I only do it when I've sold an extra bear I didn't expect or done really well on Ebay. The ones that don't seem to sell and are not my personal favorites go to relatives and friends.
Some of the ones I'm keeping are for a children's story I'm writing, just like you! Every couple of months I make a new character for my book. When I'm finished the story and have made all the characters I'm going to photograph them acting out scenes from the book and then try to get it published! Whether I have success or not, it's fun working on them and I get to keep more bears! (As if we should need a reason! lol)
Sometimes I try animes or other 'strange' little bears and I end up keeping them because no one will buy them! My family look at me with that funny look that says, "Hmmm! There's that crazy lady again!" lol!
Here's a pic of my characters so far:
Hi Andrea! I was worried about the stuffed article thingy too as this year I will be doing my first shows including the TBOV in November. I called Mark from TBOV and he didn't say what to do either way but he did say there hasn't been an inspector at any of the shows he's done, ever. Hugs, Pearl
