One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country
with the purpose of showing him how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.
Awwwww, how cute!
How can you not give that cute little face a body! (She told me that she is tired of sitting on that cup, she would much rather have her own bottom to sit on, thankyou )
Awwwww I think he's cute! Love his hairdo
No summer on my side either On Thursday morning around 9am it was still minus 7 C and today it was still 1.9 C around 12 pm. So I'm trying to convince hubby that I need to go to Darwin for the weekend where it is nice and warm (I need to defrost), but no such luck
My mum also sent me some pics of the snow you guys had. Her backyard is a bit more boring than yours <giggle>. I remember it last snowing in JHB in 1982.
Oh, I had a GREAT birthday! I think I ate too much chocolates. My daughter was telling me how bad it was for me to eat so much chocolate in one day, but hubby quickly told her that one does not pick up weight from eating chocolate when it is your birthday! <giggle> Gosh, how I wish *that* was true!!
I was so hoping and praying that I would have a good day today, because I've not been feeling very well.......But what a blessed day I am having today!! I haven't felt this good since I fell ill! I had brekkie in bed this morning then hubby gave me my gift .....he 'imported' some Haigh's chockies all the way from South Australia (http://haighschocolates.com.au) just for me. I love 'em, and they're gluten free....woohoo!! After I got the kids off to school I met Danni for coffee.... (She is so skinny these days, I nearly missed her <giggle>)
Danni, thankyou again for the beautiful roses!!! Gosh, they smell devine!
Right after coffee with Danni I met hubby for lunch. So far my day has been wonderful!!
Thanks heaps!

Awwwww!
It looks lovely!!
Trying to amuse an 11 month old baby who has a drip in his arm is not easy, thankfully he is well on the road of healing and mom was able to take him home.
Oh, I know all about that. When my daughter was about 12 months old she was admitted to hospital to be put on an antibiotic drip for a few days. She was a lively one (still is), and trying to keep her in the cot was a story and a half. I eventually took her for walks down the corridor. It was such a funny sight; Here I am walking, pushing the drip stand and little 'Miss Muffet' is crawling on the floor, drip in her arm. The people thought it was hillarious.
Hope your little grand son will be up and running around in no time.
Hugs

Oh this is so exciting! I can hardly wait to hear what the sex of the baby is! I'll be thinking of you!!
Here is two online translators. I sometimes receive emails in other languages like Spanish, Italian or French and then I use these to communicate with the collectors. The translation is not always 100% but at least the customers understand what you're saying. (and you understand what they were saying)
Hope this info helps:

Oh wow! You are indeed a very lucky girl! The bear is absolutely gorgeous!!
Just when I was feeling at my lowest last week, I received a surprize parcel in the mail. A very dear friend send me this little angel bear she had made (along with two wonderful bibles) as she thought I needed an angel. The angel is beautifully made and the dress is so gorgeous and the detail that was put into it is amazing! The dress is even lined.
Ah, Sarah I LOVE your collections!!
Dear Sonya, I hope that you will have some pain relief soon. I know how awful it is to be in constant discomfort and pain. My prayers are with you!! Get well soon! Lots of hugs
