the reason I was so nervous was that Olga is so talented adn this was a designed from scratch bear one of very few that I have done. Now that I have seen the photo I feel a lot more confident. This whole swap as well as giving me a gorgeous bear has inspired me to do better but has also totally boosted my confidence and given me heaps of ideas for future bears (just because I now know that I can design from scratch). Thank you for the opportunity to participate and thanks again Olga for your bear and the great photos you took of mine.
No fingernails left - can't be long now!
I am so impressed with all the bears but as mine gets closer and closer to Olga in Germany I get more and more nervous.
What colour is the backing?
I must have missed this one - butbecause I have just posted my first 'from scratch' bear I was interested in looking at others. What I especially love about this bear is the foot pads. Well done.

A 'from scratch' design that looks like I wanted it to look. I am pleased with it but would welcome comments - the photography isn't the best and I apologise for that. This is 'a bear with 'tude'. Made out of string mohair which is actually a deep purple but looks blue in the photo. He has armature in the arms.
I finally posted Olga's bear today BUT i forgot to take a photo before I sent the bear on her way so I hope that Olga will take a photo when she arrives.
Karon if you have no luck I will do a swap with you. Just let me know what you want to do.
What a great story and it has given me an idea! I might look at having a special bear made to commemmorate my NEW KNEE when it happens as I am sure it will change my life in many ways. Thanks Peter for giving me a great idea and an excuse for a new bear.
What about a neccesity of Teddy Bears?
I have used a Panasonic Lumix with a zoom - this is a fantastic easy to use camera it was in a good price bracket and I bought it after using a Sony for many years. I went to a camera shop armed with the features that I wanted and tried many cameras but the Lumix won out. My husband got a canon digital camera long after me and we both prefer the panasonic (takes aa batteries). I also use a Canon SLR but I still prefer the Panasonic but it comes down to what I am using it for. I have taken some great shots of miniature bears using the Panasonic set on close up and using a zoom. Good Luck with your search.
Didn't work for me but i was determined not to let it!
(Linda I absolutely love your response!!)
(This is not part of the game I just had to comment)

I could have been mean and underlined experiences! And yes, mine makes no sense either.
OMG they are all wonderful - I am getting very nervous about sending mine off. Olga, I hope you will not be disappointed.
What an incredible story. Some years ago Australian Bear Review (sadly no longer in print) did a story on these bears that were given new life by doing exactly what your bear had done to it. I will see if I can find it and send you a copy of the article. Also, I have an old Alpha farnell Bear that yours reminded me of as soon as I saw him 'undressed'. I will try and post a photo later. The Alpha Farnell had a very distinctive turned up nose that was rather pointy and usually stiched in a very pale beige thread. What a great story please keep us informed.
I have just finished mine for Olga and this is where I start getting nervous. I worry about the standard although for me I am very happy with the bear and it is one of my first ever designs ( I have designed a mini before and maybe one other) but this one must have had the summer flower power gods looking over me!
Welcome and thank you - I am another one who would be interested in your wing technique. We are a very generous group and always welcome people who aren't addicted to bear making (just wait)!
I can't believe how much alike they all are! My attempts at needlefelting proved to me that there is no way I could make the same thing twice!
and from me too! enjoy your holiday.
