Your poor guy looks a little flattened but looks somewhat like this bear:

Well.....it's raining here in Seattle, WA but I still went out for a 7 mile run with my fellow slow joggers along Alki Beach. We talked, we laughed, and it was fine Working on a ham dinner, now.

I dye faux fur all the time. First, it has to be a very high quality faux fur, if the fur has a lot of nylon (less expensive fur) it will be almost impossible to color. With high quality faux fur I use India Ink and sponge dye the fur. It's great for strong colors and the fur will still be soft.

I've been talking about creating a Cheshire Cat for over a year. I wanted to create a Cheshire Cat that was original to the Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The original Cheshire Cat was pictured as a British Short hair cat and I wanted to create a realistic cat in the character of The Cheshire Cat. The smile and the teeth took a lot of time! I hand carved each tooth and worked on a pattern that could be a realistic cat with that smile. I think he came out essentially as I envisioned him (that doesn't always happen ;-)

I would be shocked if it is true you can buy a cover for Teddy Bear Review?! Are we sure they are not referring to the inside cover spot? If you can buy a cover, Walmart Chinese bears could be there or even Gummy Bears? They would have to allow anyone who came up with the price. I can't believe that is true? If so, then they are no longer a magazine, just an advertising brochure.
My long ago cover.
I have to agree; eBay is trying to be Amazon and they are catering to the large companies and sellers at the expensive of the one-of-a-kind artists. I still sell there only because I can bring my own collectors and run an auction. But I know I won't be there much longer unless things change. The whole category of artist's bears is disappearing. Hopefully a new venue of sale will be starting and I will follow. One plus is I have a recent, and pretty extensive list of buyers I can take with me. I do use Bear Pile but only for my pieces that are priced $300 and under. Bear Pile is great in that there are many international buyers. Last time I checked etsy, it seemed to have the same roadblock, items over $300 were not selling well.

THank you for noticing. I wanted him to be an adult character with a touch of a shady past. Somebody you might want to get to know just for the stories he could tell

Here he is, I've been working on this guy for a while ~ gathering his metal pieces and designing his leather vest.

Oh! I'm going to make one of those I've been trying to think of what my next kitten would be. Thanks SueAnn!
Thanks fellow TTers. I do like this guy a lot. Whenever I walk past him in the studio he seems to give me this wise smile. My next project is a real mindbender! I'm working on a Cheshire cat that I want to look like the original Cheshire Cat illustration, but I also want him to look like a real cat, not a cartoon type character. And those teeth! A lot of carving, I think?
This is only my second Tiger and I've made some changes. This Tiger looks a little older than my first Tiger, but he is still a young Tiger. He also has a new style of eyes. His coat stripe pattern is completely different (All Tigers have different coat marking, they are like fingerprints in humans). Presenting ~ Satara

MoMMy! I'm scared!!
So sweet. Skunks are good guys. THey are peaceful and eat grubs and other garden nemesis. It's not their fault that their only defense is the smell weapon.
LoVe his elegant beak and pouch. Also the delicate shading of his head and neck. Your pieces are such Works of Art.

I've just received an order from someone who had purchased from me in the past. She is now in Iraq and wants to order several large pieces. It's not a military address, it would be going to the Embassy in Iraq. Could mailing to Iraq, possibly, be safe?

Jane,
She is walking a dangerous path. SHe probably thinks she is safe because most artists won't go through the fight of taking her to court. But if any of the artists that she is stealing from have sold, or are in the process of selling some of their patterns to a larger company, they will definitely take her to court and it would be for a large claim of damage. I've have seen it happen when I worked with large toy companies.
Wow! Thanks everyone. I have a top hat and I'm going to go looking for old clocks and gears today Us Bears, you must be psychic, he's reddish brown with grey/black stripes, rather thin, with a slightly open mouth and some teeth showing. He looks very Victorian even without his clothing. I guess he could be called dashing but I don't think you could call him cute. I'll show photos when he's finished.

OK, I need help. Any TTers know about Steampunk? I know a little and I'm making a Steampunk cat (couldn't help it he just looks right for it, definitely punk). So far I've made him a cool black leather vest with a burned out deep purple velvet back panel and lining. I also have sunglasses I can add leather to. What would make him even more Steampunk?

Victim recovered and gave attacker a belly rub. All was forgiven.
Mommy, it's CoLD!!
This is Isobel. I found these really beautiful blue cat eyes/glass some time ago. It took a while for me to figure out how to use them with the type of eye socket that I create. I had to redesign the eye socket to fit them. Also, I decided to try a new style Open & Close mouth ~ it worked out pretty well
Creating an open and close mouth on such a small kitten was tricky. I'm not sure I'll do it, again, though
