Oh, Jane! Paddy is just the sweetest. I'm sure Matthea absolutely adores her. I love the embroidery, very pretty. Excellent work, Jane!
Thank you all for the lovely comments. Once I got working on her I really had lot of fun. I had anticipated hating to do the ears, but in fact, I kinda liked it! I hear the mohair in my closet calling me now! Unfortunately there's not a lot in there...guess that's why I hear Intercal calling me too. I can't wait to touch all the mohair at the show next weekend. I have a feeling my crochet bears might get neglected for a while.
Penny, I think your little moonlings are absolutely fab! I just have to keep looking at him, he's so fascinating. Can't wait to see a whole litter of little moonlings...get busy, woman!
Oh my! What a clever little guy and so teeny tiny. I think he is really cute and definitely needs some brothers.
What a perfect little bear for baby! Sophie, your little cousin will love him, I'm sure!
What a fabulous bear! I can see why you are in love, Sohpie. Don't worry, your secret is safe. Sabine, you've done a marvelous job with this guy.
What a little cutie! How lucky you are, Erika, to receive such a charming little fella. Wonderful work, Anne!
Aww, Patrick and his pony are just too sweet!
Oh, Lynette, your trip sounds fabulous! Thank you for sharing some pics with us. Your bears are gorgeous and those little piggies are just too cute!
Welcome back, Sue Ann! It's good to have you back. How was your trip? I hope you had a good time with your family.
Anne, I think you did an excellent job on them. Aren't they just so fun to make?
Dilu, they are all fabulous! Their new mommy is sure to be delighted.
Yay, I have finally found the motivation to get this girl finished. Penelope is made from distressed, sparse mohair. I didn't think I was going to like the mohair after I ordered it, but now that she's finished I've decided I like it a lot! She's about 8", so kind of a petite little gal. I designed and hand-stitched her dress too. That was loads of fun as I had no idea what I was doing, but it finally worked out. She's no where near perfect, lots of little boo-boos here and there, but I am pleased with the finished outcome anyway. I was going to keep her since she was my first, but my mom did some whining last night so I guess I'll give Penelope to her! I still have a LOT to learn, but that's what you all are for, isn't it?
Actually, I'm sure that my first bear would have been a hideous mess if it weren't for everything that I have already learned here at TT. Thank you all for sharing with me!
Simple?? Plain Jane?? Are you kidding, he is gorgeous! I love him!
Yes, I did the painting after the lids were already attached. I actually didn't even consider painting before I put them in. Luckily the mohair I was working with was a sparse, short-pile so it didn't really get in the way. (Oh, plus I got a little carried away with my scissors so there wasn't lots of fur left near the eyes anyway! )I may have to think of something though for different fur type. As for getting it on the eye, I did get a wee tiny bit on it but it dried and then I just scraped it off with my fingernail. No big problem there.
Aww, Amelie is gorgeous. I can see why she is a keeper.
Well, I painted the eyelids and I'm pleased with how they turned out. I guess I was just having a really "duh" moment. I was worried about the acrylics being cakey, but using a wash was the perfect solution...
Thanks, Shelli, for helping me tighten those screws today.
Well, I wasn't sure and I didn't want to screw it up as they're already glued in! I was worried to use acrylic because sometimes it gets kind of cakey. If I use oils, will it take forever to dry?
I'm working on a mohair bear (first one, yippee!!) and I've put leather eyelids on. The leather cord I found was a light beige color which I don't like; it's just too light. So I'm wondering what you all use to put color on your bear's lids.
I'm very sorry you haven't been feeling too well. It's so nice to have you back. We've missed you!
I'm with Daphne on the tarantulas. EEK! I would never sleep knowing that something so big and hairy and creepy and crawly was in my house!
I had some mice before...never again! On a whim one day, we were at the pet store and decided to get a mouse. The lady told us if we got females we could get more than one. So we did. We got three of them. I played with them and they got pretty sociable. But one of them was a little runt and after a while the other two were picking on her. So we gave little Minnie to my aunt. So down to two until one morning I got up and went to watch TV in the living room. Their cage was next to the sofa. I looked over and only saw one mouse. As I looked closer I saw the other mouse, well, what was left of her. Maggie had killed and eaten most of Molly. As soon as Daniel got home, Maggie was gone too. So, never ever again.
Thank you all for the lessons in Bunnies 101. I've done some research on the different types of bunnies. They are all so cute, how can you decide? I'll be looking for breeders as soon as my sis makes her decision.
Oh, Daphne, I'm sorry that you've got so many troubles in your life right now. It does seem like when you're already down, more and more things just pile on top of that. I know, I've been there. I promise it will get better.
Good news about the bunnies. You'll be finished with those pesky critters before you know and that will take a big weight off your shoulders, I bet.
I understand, too, about the dogs. Our older dog is just great, but our younger one just drives me crazy. I pray for nice weather so I can put them outside. The younger one, Gracie, is just impossible. She's always jumping on and pushing around my daughter. The dog is now 1 yr, 2 mos. and weighs about 65 lbs. That's just too big to be bouncing around on a 3-year old. And now Gracie's starting to pick fights with the other dog. I think I better check out that dog listener too. I hope you'll find a solution to your doggy troubles.
Lots of hugs, Daphne. Hope you'll be feeling brighter soon.
Yay, Judi! That is just awesome news!
Nancy, do you know who this person is that's making the accusations? Although her intentions may have been good, she ought to be aware that she may be hurting instead of helping. Her theories should have a little more fact before spreading it around. Please don't fold up your tent, Nancy. Your friends are just too sweet not to share them with the world. Just come back and vent a little more if you need to. That's what we're here for. And hugs.

Oh, wow, Judi! That bag is fantastic. Wonderful job, Danni!
Yep, the collar is crocheted. I don't have a clue how to tat.
