By the way - WHO RUNS THE BRITISH BEAR ARTISTS AWARDS NOW?????? It used to be TeddyBearTimes did'nt it?
Penny
Is'nt this just the cat's whiskers???????
Just so beautifully worked This doll artist always produces top quality work, i often have a look to see what pixiewillow has on eBay and she always has something wonderful to offer. Although i have to say that i think this is her best yet.
I have an old edition of this book and it's so nice to see that someone else loves it too.
Now.....................anyone gonna buy this for me?
Penny
HOO HOO HOO......................"damn those red lights" said the dog
Penny
No kidding! Must have been one of Penpen´s teddy bears from hell
Too bad that so many fish had to die, just because somebody didn´t watch out for a second...![]()
Gaby :rose:
'Ere Gaby....................i just read your post...............YOU CHEEKY MONKEY
All my bears from hell are accounted for so it was'nt one of mine ha ha ha
PenPen
HAR HAR HAR - naughty likkle bear!!!!!
He obviously ate as many fish as he could then tried to commit beary hari-kiri by stuffing himself in the drain and taking as many of the uneaten fish with him!

What a Star! He looks pretty good despite his ordeal don't he? Obviously a surviver.
PenPen
Jare that is just sooooooooo unfair! I want pics my dear, loadsa pics.
I know what you mean though - a pattern seems to fall into place and everything else seems to follow...........clothes, oddities, addities..........all the bits and bobs. Fabulous Jare. Well Done BUT I STILL WANT PICS!
Penny
P.S. we still have an ACEO thing to settle too..........do you still want to do it?
..............that you had produced something special?
I have been going through the 'Bears and Friends' forum because i have been away for a few months and wanted to see what i had missed when i realised that some of the artists here have really surpassed themselves and produced fabulous bears and almost seem to have suprised themselves!
No matter how long or how recently we began making bears we all seem to make a 'leap' sometimes that takes our bears to a different level.
Is'nt it funny how a Bear is a Bear is a Bear until an individual gets hold of the idea and runs away with it and lets their imagination run riot?
So, getting back to my original question............what bear have you made do you consider to have taken you that little bit further in your quest towards being a better bear artist and how did it make you feel when you sat back and looked at it and thought " That's it, i've cracked it" and done a funny dance round the kitchen table whilst the rest of the family looked on thinking 'She's finally lost it' ?
Penny :P
Pics please, you can't beat a thread with loads of good pics
Blimey O'Reilly this is an old thread come back to haunt us all aint it ?!?!
Ahhhhh Marmite...............i cannot live without it. On toast, in a peanut butter sandwich, melted and brushed lightly over roasted potato's (write for the recipe) and basically - i am a Marmite freak.
I am reassured that it is full of B vitamins and yeast (what the hell is yeast? I used to buy yeast from the butchers for bread making but never asked where or what it came from - probably some nasty process or something - don't tell me please) and is essentially 'good for you'.
I do hope that the blurb on the jar is telling the truth or i'm well and truly buggered
PenPen
P.S. Buggered is a socially accepted coloquilism in estuary English girls and is'nt meant to offend anyone.
P.P.S. Estuary English is the commonly spoken/accent of those born in within the London borough's and outer reaches of the river Thames. Just thought i should explain it as it is a very British 'thing'.
Oh No!!! a little girl without her teddy
Do you have a picture of the bear? That would be really helpful, so we all know what exactly you are looking for.
Have you tried searching the www. for the company? I am sure they would be willing to try and help you out.
Good Luck
Let us know how you get on.
HOO HOO HOO.....................the guys a bigger nut than i am but i bet he's richer!

So many people do these 'Laughing Classes' now don't they? Why not just watch a funny movie in the privacy of your own home? Must be cheaper surely.
Penny
Sorry i don't have any pics of a bear using this distressing method but i lost them when my old compuer died!
I rub the mohair on a pair of old jeans (clean obviously) to matt the pile and add a bit of grungy colour from the denim -
then you can dampen the mohair pile and 'singe' it over an electric cooker plate. If you don't dampen it the whole damn thing can go up in flames so watch it girls! -
then add more dirty looking colour by rubbing with a tiny bit of boot polish (almost none at all, really teeny amounts) in the colour of your choice. Boot polish comes in all colours now so you should be able to find the colour you want.
Any help at all?
As for putting it on the compost heap.................
what an excellent idea - i may bury Terry with it too - or is that murder?
JACOBS CREAM CRACKERS AND LEMON CURD?!?!?!
Wow what a combination.................i will try it out Paula - sounds a bit odd though
Penny
Funny how we forget things like lemon curd then all of a sudden, wham bam! we NEED SOME RIGHT NOW!!!!!
I am going to buy some today................it's been years since i had lemon curd too - it is soooo delicious is'nt it Paula?
Pennny
Good Luck with the auctions Paula, he is a fabulous bear as usual. Reminds me of lemon curd for some reason - yummy perhaps?

sniffle sniffle snuffle
I have a Moonling with just a head, a doll without any eyes, a website half built and i just noticed a huge cobweb hanging from the lampshade when the sun shone through the window - dammit
In an annoying whiney voice PenPen says "I dobn't feel bery well and cand't binish anyding" (translated from the snottynose language as - I don't feel very well and can't finish anything). I can hardly see through my watery eyes and am considering stitching up my nostrils to stem the flow - but i suppose i might drown, better not.
Gimme some sympathy girls or at least some hilarious gags please
PenPen
Well, i make freaky dolls - animations - artwork - patchwork and tapestry. I only have pics of freaky dolls and they are animated so here ya go girls, but don't blame me if they give you nightmares!
