Such an incredible amount of talent! It really is humbling to see the wonderful work that was on show. Thank you so much for posting the photos.
Wow, Lisa. What a lovely collection of bears. You REALLY have been busy. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the fur. And VERY good luck with the competition.
See you Sunday. I will be there on my own as 'the other half' will be staying at home that day. It's only my second ever bear fair, so will be nervous.
Hugs
Sue
He's stunning. Wonderful work.
Hi Karon
I am hoping to complete and post my swap bear to Ali during half-term week.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments Elena, Thea, Ali and Lisa!
He's a cutie, Ariane. So glad you persevered with his head!
She is adorable. The colours you have chosen for her compliment her sweet face perfectly.
Very, very sweet!
She is delightful. I hope she finds a lovely home!
They look wonderful together. They are absolutely beautiful!
She's a sweet, little poppet!
He's great...a real character!
Hi Karon
Keep the faith! When I have stuffed a head and look at it, I usually want to throw it out...and in the early days of bearmaking I frequently did. I now find that if I hold my nerve, then 95% of the time, the finished head meets or exceeds my expectations. My just stuffed heads look awful. They tend to look like potatoes, but so long as one side matches the other, they generally work out just fine. By the time the head has some features added and some needle sculpting and scissor trimming, things tend to improve markedly. The exception to this rule is a panda head. I have three partly finished panda heads in my workroom. None are finished or are likely to be to my satisfaction..hey ho!

Wow, what a lovely set...so much work! I also love that Cheshire Cat!
I don't sculpt directly onto the fabric, but I use Milliput Epoxy clay for noses. You can buy it in black. I use a different application method. I use sculpting tools to shape the nose, and while it is still pliable, I gently press it against the fabric where it will fit on the face. I continue gently moulding so that the back of the nose is a good fit on the face. I then remove it and carefully place a glass teddy eye into the back of the clay, with the metal loop sticking out. I leave the nose to harden overnight and then attach it in the same way you attach an eye (thread through loop, then flatten the loop using pliers). I add a little glue to the back of the nose just to stabilise it.

Hi Tami
I too, have a dedicated room for my bearmaking activities. I know when it needs tidying...when my three little dogs cannot find enough space on the floor to lie down to go to sleep. It seems to be worse when I am working on a brand new pattern as I agonise over every aspect...
By the way, many congratulations on your nominations!!

Sue
Great news...fingers crossed!
She is delightful. I love the colour combinations and the lovely mohair you use on your porcelain faced bears.
Arthur is absolutely heart melting. I LOVE the tipped mohair. I'm not surprised that Peter could not resist!
Hi Jo
Can't wait for her to arrive! She has the cheekiest face! She certainly makes me smile!
