For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Do you have to be there in person for the awards like the BBAA's?
I not sure of the rules for this competition?
Shelly
You are all too kind.
Julie congratulations back to you, the bears are beautiful and the snow scene is exquisit. I can see that in a big shop window Christmas display.

Thanks to everyone for your support .......I have been celebrating by painting my new work room ........back to reality!! But when it's done I'm going to put a shelf up and put my illuminated award on it. I may never get another!!!
Shelly
Congratulations on your lovely little bear!!
We won't need Christmas Trees this year I'm just going to put some tinsel around my award and light it up.
Sorry Catherine I wouldn't like to confirm any of the results in case I got it wrong, but this year they seem to have changed it and awarded a first , second and third place.
Best wishes
Shelly
I'm afraid I'm going to blow my own trumpet as yesterday I came 'first' in category nine of the British Bear Artist Awards 2007.
It was a very wet and windy day in Brighton but my spirits were lifted by coming first for
'Bear Makers for less than 18mths'.
My entry was my first teddy I've made so maybe I will have to include teddy friends with my rabbits more often.
The standard of work in all categories was wonderful and the work put into some of the larger pieces was just amazing.
Well done to everyone else and also to everyone who was shortlisted.
Best wishes
Shelly.
Hi
I did the opt out thing as well but I visited again today and it's back to how it was. I don't know if you have to opt out every time.
I went to the 'buy' page and clicked on 'dolls and bears' and then clicked on 'artist bears'. This then took me to a main page where on the left hand side there was different options with only 2 available, I think one was for 'new or old' and the other was for 'Type' but there was no artist option there.
I had to scroll down further on the left hand side to then find the option for 'narrow your search' where 'one of a kind' , 'manufactured' and 'other artist bears' are listed.
They are quite difficult to notice as the page does not fit your screen size.
Am I right that this is how people are not able to find the artist bear's?
I agree I don't know why they change things, I was about to list in ebay but I'm not sure now.
Can someone just reply and tell me that I've understood it correctly?
Many thanks
Shelly.
Hi Penney
Just send me an email and I'll sort it out. If you have a banner you can include that as well.
Thanks
Shelly
Hi Paula
Try this
At the top of your page it should say 'view' click on it.
The drop down bar will have the words 'Text size' on it click on it.
I would click on 'Largest'.
I think this should work.
Shelly

Hi everyone

Here is my link but just contact me if you want to be added.
Thanks

Thanks Jennie,
I do have a light tent but my rabbits are too big for it especially when you try and add a cardboard backing.
I do have three lights as well but I'm never quite sure where to put them so I'll try doing the way that you say.
Thanks
Shelly.
Hi
This question may have been asked a hundred times so if it has could someone point me in the direction to find the answers? Many thanks.
When I take photos with my camera if I use the flash I always end up with a black shadow on my photo around the object.
If I turn off the flash then I can't get very close without the image appearing to shake. I have all the lights and a tripod but I do find it so difficult taking pictures.
I always manage to get one or two out of a bad lot.... but believe me the air is blue and my husband hides.
Any advice would be most grateful.
Thanks
Shelly
Hi
Melanie the bears look great !!! I love the style. It's hard with a baby around and building work ? My goodness you don't do it by halves!
Anyway here is my sneak preview.... I'm playing with photoshop cs3 at the moment so I'm taking any opportunity to mess with it .
Really looking forward to the show and chatting online.
Shelly
Well I was determined to crack it.
I downloaded another trial version of photoshop, this time CS3 and through determination I have arrived at this.
I must say that I'm feeling really pleased with myself , especially when I realised how to do cut outs, there was lots of jumping around with excitement.
It has taken a lot of fiddling but I hope you like it!!
A very happy Shelly.
Hi
I am like many of the people on this post and would love to do all this stuff.
My website is done on Yahoo sitebuilder which is as simple as 'abc', and does the job at the moment.
I downloaded a trial of photoshop but just couldn't work it out.
I have something on my computer which is adobe image ready CS2. It looks similar to photoshop but I don't know if it's something I can use on it's own or if I need photoshop to go with it .
I have fiddled with it but I'm not sure how to do the layering , and then even if I successfully did something can I save it or does it have to go into photoshop first.
Absolutely ANY advice would be wonderful . My patience is wearing very thin. LOL
Many thanks
Shelly
