I tried to do my first eyelids last week and it was kind of tricky with small eyes! And I didn't really get the effect that I was looking for.
So, you guys that make eyelid bears, do you use bigger eyes then "usual"? I have always used small eyes so on a bear that is 30 cm tall I have 7-8 mm eyes. Can anyone tell me how big eyes I will have to use to get a better eyelid effect?
I'm soooo sick of redoing the headgussets of my bears! I'm just a mess when it comes do designing headgussets!
I first do the headsides and then measure with a thread how long the gusset should be, and then.. well.... I just give it ago and sketch it all by hand... which means that I most of the time just guess and have to do it all over again!
There must be a more PROFESSIONAL way to do this!
I have just bought the teddybear making encyclopedia where they describe how it SHOULD be don but I don't get it! *wacko!*
Help... anyone?
Clar, I made the claws in black clay. I did a loop of metal string and put it in the end of each claw before burning the clay in the owen. Then I stitched them on just as the eyes! And to hold them steady I put some glue under each claw.
Try it, it's a lot lof fun!
Haha, ok Sandra good to know that you really will NOT eat your feet
Hehe, putting your feet in your mouth doesn't sound that nice! (maybe that's just because I'm a vegetarian and don't eat meat! )
Sammie has a knitted glove and he actually has it on on both pictures! Maybe it's hard to see cause he has his arm behind his head.
Hm... I haven't measured him but I think he is a tall boy, around 30 cm.
Sammie is my first attempt to do eyelids and I guess that it takes a lot of practise to learn the technique. but it was a lot of fun! ;)Next time I will buy white felt and try to put it under the eyes.
I also used clay to make claws for Sammies feet.
Ooooh, there's so many things I want to try! Thanks to you all for giving me the inspiration!
Yes, she is about 30 cm så she is a LITTLE bit taller then Didrick
This is Moo, a fully jointed teddybear made of synthetic fur. She has an embroided and varnished nose and an little apron.
Oh, that's a great ferret! I have been thinking of doing a ferret pattern on my own, maybe you have gotten some tips?
