Moreover, I have every confidence in the "expert" jury : look who is in it :
Congratulations Catherine & Paula !

Hi Dawn,
Though I am mostly a "bear" man myself, this hare does have a certain ... how shall I put it : "Je ne sais quoi"
I suddenly get an urge to crawl into bed ...

What an adorable couple, Dawn !
I hope they can stay together.

Oh, what history they have!
I know you are crushed about the original bear, but bless your heart, you are keeping his memory alive!
That is exactly how I felt as well. When I first read your story, Joanne, I thought this is so sad : losing the bear that was so close to you.
But you turned it into a positive thing. Although you had to give up the original teddy, his spirit lives on in all the teddies you make from his pattern.
Just think of all the joy his "offspring" will bring to teddy bear lovers all over the world. I would certainly call that a blessing in disguise.

Hi Jeanette,
Good luck with your blog; the first bear to feature on your blog certainly is a beauty.
I am one of your "followers" now as well !

When ever I post anything on ebay especially, I make a note at the bottom of the page. "International buyers; please be aware of customs fees charged by your country. I will not change customs forms or mark items as gifts" Some people are just not aware of the price of customs. This at least gives them fair warning.
Joanne
Hi Tatyana,
Joanne is absolutely right. It's always best to warn prospective bidders that import duties and custom fees can be very high, so they can't blame you afterwards for not warning them about it. The first time I adopted a teddy bear from the US, I was amazed at the exaggerated amount of fees that I had to pay (more than 50 % of the value of the item), but now I know and I keep that in mind when I adopt an American bear. I still don't understand however, why they charge so much for items coming from the USA and Canada and not from Australia for example. It almost seems as if they want to discourage us from buying stuff in the USA or Canada .

Ooooh they are soooo adorable, Laurie ! I love the pointy ears. The black one is especially lovely, but do I detect some mischief in those eyes ??
Have fun with your kittens.

Hi Everyone,
Some of you have commented that you like seeing some photo's of the teddies in my hug (which I appreciate very much of course )!
So I would like to introduce you to this lovely teddy that has recently joined my hug : her name is Gracie and she was made by the talented Susie Bedford-Stradling (Guardian Angel Bears). She is 18" tall and made from a lovely pale peachy coloured mohair. Her eyes and muzzle have been subtly shaded.
Hugs,

Hi Bobbie,
It's actually a French film, originally called "L'ours" (the bear) by Jean-Jacques Annaud (released in 1988).
You can get it at Amazon for about US$ 8,50 http://www.amazon.com/Bear-Tch%C3%A9ky- … 962&sr=1-1
I have this film on VHS and DVD, but to tell you the honest truth : I haven't had the nerve to see it completely . I know the mother bear dies at the beginning of the film and I just know these scenes are going to heartbreaking
. I'm such a big softie.
Hugs,

She is really beautiful, Therese, well proportioned, lovely face, good combination of the colours. A great design !
Since she is your first bear by own design, I think you should call her ... Eve.
So your next own design should be a boy teddy and called ... Adam !
