She is absolutely adorable, Vero. I checked out her photos on e-bay and she is just the cutest little polar cub.
It must have taken a lot of patience to sew it all by hand  .
I also love the name AURORA ("dawn"), a New Year, new beginnings, ... it makes me all philosophical .
Wonderful work !

Have a great Christmas !

Hi Paula,
A beautiful photo of the winter wonderland, but I have to agree with Yvonne and Jane and Maria :
.........but for my money, a picture is the best place for snow - or maybe thru the window of a nice cosy room...........
Yesterday I woke up to find the shutters on my windows frozen shut, couldn't open the door of my garage because the lock was frozen, got my car stuck in a parking lot in the snow, the train was canceled because the rails were frozen, ... all this at 5.30 in the morning does not put a smile on your face . (You can call me "Scrooge").
So I prefer the first photo with the lovely bear (a present from you to you ?).
Have a lovely Christmas time and thank you for all the lovely bears you have given me this year .
I look forward to seeing all your wonderful new bears next year !

What a beautiful card, Maria; it says it all : Christmas already, another year older ....
2010 is just around the corner; can you believe it's already ten years ago we celebrated the millenium ??
Enjoy the holidays and may none of your bears ever get lost again !
Hugs,

Merry Christmas to you and those two gorgeous bears as well !

Happy Holidays to you and your lovely dogs, Lyn !
I think you'd better remove those antlers or you just might find your Christmas tree lying on the floor one morning !

Many congratulations, Tami, well deserved indeed ! I'm thinking this award will get a nice prominent place in your home.

Hi Maria,
I had been wondering how the story of the missing bear turned out and am soooo very pleased that the bear finally did turn up.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a very speedy return journey for your bear  .
You have every right to be furious at the postal service, but now you're probably so glad that he turned up, that you don't even feel like complaining .
A parcel that contained three bears travelling from the UK to Belgium (to me) got lost by the English postal service (parcelforce) for two weeks; they literally couldn't find the parcel, though it had a tracking number. The artist and I were sick with worry the whole time and kept calling their client service daily until finally the three bears did turn up in their depot (they were "mislaid"). At the end of the day, we were so pleased to have bears safely delivered, we sent them a "Thank You" card, how stupid is that ??   .
Next time you'd better travel to Taiwan yourself !
Hugs,

Hi Pauline,
Treacle is absolutely adorable; I love the Alpaca fur and the contrasting foot and paw pads.
He looks so sweet and very handsome with his scarf and tam.
A most beautiful teddy  !
Hugs,

Hi Cheryl,
I like the website very much. The first thing I always do when I check out a website is see if the artist has bears availale for adoption and that is very easy to find on your website. (Although unfortunately there are no bears or other critters available now , but lucky for you
).
I do agree with what Amber wrote :
My only recommendation would be on the pages were you have it set up so people can email you perhaps in the bottom corner or somewhere on the page actually put the email address. Some people may want to send an email but at a later time. From experience there are a lot of people out there that don't like the webbased format.
Amber
I am not very fond of webbased forms for inquiries; I prefer to send a personal e-mail to the artist, because I can keep track when I contacted the artist.
Other than that : excellent work !
Hugs,

She is absolutely wonderful, Joanna, and what a great idea to put a piece of the original bear under her dress.
In a way, the original teddy lives on in these new "old" bears.
I think your mom will be mighty pleased with her !

Hi everyone,
Last weekend I was very pleased to pay a visit to the lovely Catherine (from Bumpkin Bears) who lives just half an hour's drive from me.
Catherine had been working on a commissioned bear for me, aptly called Crosby (like in Bing Crosby, White Christmas, ...)
On Sunday the bear would be ready for me to collect, so I was very eager to meet up with Catherine and my -no doubt- lovely new companion. I was up at the crack of dawn (5.30 AM), not having slept much at the prospect of adopting a bear especially made for me. I had no doubt that Catherine would have done a great job, but I had specifically asked her not to sent me any photos of the bear, so it would be a surprise for me.
Need I say that "Crosby" is a gorgeous teddy made from beautiful brown mohair with a sort of silvery tip and that he has an adorable face and that I immediately loved him? Methinks I need not.
However, I knew that Catherine had another teddy up for adoption called "Winston". Before going to Catherine's I had decided that I would not let myself be tempted into adopting another teddy. But when we were sitting there, drinking a cup of tea, and generally making a big fuss over how beautiful Crosby is and giving him lots of hugs and kisses, I got the distinct feeling that someone was watching me. And sure enough, there on a shelf of a cupboard was Winston, looking very sad and lonely. I thought I saw a little teardrop, but that could have been a trick of the light. I asked Catherine if I could see Winston and he looked at me with his big sad eyes as if to say :" Please take me home with you for Christmas ???" Well how could I resist ... and the rest is history.
So here they are : my two new Bumpkin Bears, Crosby & Winston; joined by my two "old" Bumpkin Bears, Lewis & Bailey. I hope you like them.
Oh by the way, it was freezing -10° C when I took these pictures, so you can imagine the bears "were not amused" !!
Hugs,
Peter
P.S. A very big thank you to Catherine for making me feel so welcome in her home
Chelford is adorable, Jacqui, just as cuddly and huggable as Somerford.
His fur is beautiful as well, but I love my Somerford .
Hugs,

Hi Becky,
This is my kind of bear ! I love his colour ( not lilac
) and he has a lovely, innocent, inquisitive expression.
The nose colour and the dark foot and paw pads really work excellent.
He is delightful and in case you should have any doubt : he is definitely a boy bear !
Hugs,
Peter & Vincent
Hi Becky,
He/She is a lovely bear : I love the expression and the long wavy mohair (though I must admit that it is not really my colour ).
My preference goes to the new brown bear .
Sorry for being such an old-fashioned fuddy-duddy .
Hugs,
Peter
Hi Marsha,
I had a look (well several looks) at the bears on auction and there are plenty of gorgeous bears and critters to put a bid on.
It's a wonderful idea to do this for the Animal Asia Foundation and I certainly hope you will raise lots of money.
I might just venture a bid myself ...
Hugs,
Peter
You did a great job, Thea, what a lovely picture of you and Lewis the Christmas mouse !
I hope you will have "heel fijne kerstdagen en een hartstikke goed 2010"
Hugs,
Peter
All the Santas running around must have been a strange sight .
I wonder how many miles Sarah has run already for charity ?? Or maybe she is secretly training for the London Olympics !
A big hug to Sarah & Jane,
from Peter, George & the teddy rascals
Please please please can we see the photos of the award winning bears (they are not on the bear basics site, except for Marilyn's gorgeous Persimmon) !
Hugs to all of you
Peter
Hi Jolene,

Peter
Now how is going to get in that igloo ???
And where are the teddy bears ???
The quality of this forum is really going down the drain!
A jealous guy
Hi Jolene,
Kenny is really lovely, no wonder you are delighted to have him.
The photos with the Christmas decorations in the back are very beautiful.
You are going to have soooo much fun getting your Christmas presents, but I have warned you : once you start loving teddy bears, there is no going back !
Have you considered joining the Charlie Bears Friends club ? You get a free bear every year with your membership. You can find out all about it at the Charlie Bears website : http://www.charliebears.co.uk/. They alse have gorgeous greeting cards.
