LOST!
I am so very sad about this. Andy, my original design Moon Bear left home in March 2006 for a journey to spread the word about Moon Bears and raise awarness about them. Many of you responded and Andy had wonderful visits in Vermont, New hampshire, Florida, Texas, California (2 stops) Oregon, then with my daughter in Washington (state) From Washington, I guess I made some bad decisions. One TT asked if her son could host him, he lived in Idaho, and I said yes. Andy had a great time there.....then I was asked if he could visit some other people, and I said yes, thought the more the merrier!
I have not heard about Andy since April 2007. emails and snail-mail-letters have not gotten me any response. I don't know what to do. There are address labels in the box with Andy, so I thought that someone, not knowing what else to do, would put on a label and mail him on to someone else.
Anyone have any idea of how I can find Andy? Has anyone seen or heard from him? My other Moon Bear has made successful trips to Australia, New Zealand, England, and last I knew, she is now in China with Jill, the CEO and founder of Animals Asia. (I haven't heard from her in a while either and need to make some contact there to see when Franzi is coming home for eBay Auction)
The picture is of Andy in Washington (I think)

I received the following email and thought I would post it here to see if anyone had any great ideas or knew of someone that might be interested in helping this person out. I can see this as a whole new business being set up, if someone had the time, knowledge, desire, time, resources, time and willingness.........The second email I received today says he is looking to start small, 200 - 300 of each organ buddy...... I found that I had to type in his link: www.organbuddies.com
Hello Ellen,
I am writing to request your direction in finding someone to made a series
of stuffed toys my wife and I created several years ago called Organ
Buddies ( www.organbuddies.com<about:blank< TARGET="_blank" href=redir.asp?lid=0&newsite=http://www.organbuddies.com<about:blank/>http://www.organbuddies.com<about:blank/ >>). 19 years ago I had a life
saving liver transplant and in the mid-ninety's my wife and I create these
stuffed toys to help pre/post-transplant kids. We were both pleasantly
surprised that the interest of our Organ Buddies was amongst adults as much
as kids. At the time, (1995) ,I found lady to create our prototype, found
companies for the various materials for the toys, and found a small
non-profit manufacturing company in NC that was willing to made small
amounts (50-100 units) of the organ buddies. After the second year the cost
of the short fur for our amounts became to costly and we had to stop making
our Organ Buddies. Because of the new website page we have been receiving
request for our toys. I started looking into having them made overseas, but
that cost still regards high quantities, and I really like the idea of
these stuffed toys being made in the old USA. Can you please give me any
direction on who I can contact to have these toys made? Any advice would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and consideration regarding this matter.
Regards,
Lee Downing

Little Stuffed Dog
Written by Sonia L. Fries
Who knows, sometime in the future
Someone will find you and say,
"There's an old ragged, worn-out, stuffed
dog in this box;
now why didn't she throw that away?"
I know that you're faded and lumpy,
Too stained and too worn-out to keep.
He's long since outgrown you and put you
aside;
Doesn't need you to cuddle to sleep,
But I can remember, not too long ago,
When two little arms help you tight;
When you were a friend, a comfort,
A shield for the dark lonely night.
You shared every small disappointment,
Absorbed so much laughter and tears,
No wonder you're tattered and lumpy,
How busy you were those few years!
So, little stuffed dog, I must keep you,
Someone will discard you one day;
But you've been blessed with the love of a
sweet little boy.
And I never could throw you away.
What a cutie!
go to www.crscrafts.com they have 4 7/8" hardboard discs. When you get to their home page, go to the left side, click on Bear Supplies, go down to Fasteners, then go down and click on Hardboard Fasteners and it will come up with a page of joints from 1/2 inch to 4 7/8 inch. If for some reason they won't ship overseas, contact me and I will get them for you and ship them out. Good Luck!

The following is an email I received today. If there is someone that can help, let me know and I will send you his email address. Thanks.
Hello Ellen,
I’m wondering if you can help me. I am looking for green colored teddy bears made from non-toxic/organic materials. Would you be able to provide me with a quantity of them, or would you know where I could find them? I would prefer that they were made in the U.S. So far I’ve only been able to find white or off-white organic bears. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Eric
I have been seeing this for several years. I think it is a terrible way to treat a teddy bear......
Love the pics! BUT! What is mama Cat going to do when the little stinkers become big, adult stinkers??????

On my return from Florida, after 2 weeks of helping my parents sort things out. I made a stop in Washington DC at the National Zoo. I was very brave and went into Washington without a map or exact directions to the zoo.....I found it without a problem and had a nice visit with the Sloth Bear, Panda Bears and Golden Lion Tamarin Monkeys It is so nice to be back home where it is cool and colorful and some texture to the land.....driving into the Adirondacks was like a warm welcoming hug home.......I spent 30 minutes going 8 miles on Thursday morning in New Jersey, then for the last 2 hours of the trip saw maybe 1 car every 5 to 10 miles! Now back to reality! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

I received a phone call yesterday from Sue at the Tapir Preservation Fund. This is an organization to help rescue the Tapir from extinction. They are looking for someone to make some exotic animals for their gift shop. I looked at their website this morning, www.tapirback.com, and found that they have some stuffed animals of all different types, and a lot of plastic animals. I believe they have had someone make animals, but that person has asked for help. Some of the animals are made in Columbia, and they are looking for other Artists to make some animals they can put on their website for sale to help raise money to help the Tapirs. I told her that I am not able to do this, but that I would post the question here. Anyone interested, you can contact Sue 503-325-3179 directly and get more information. They are located in Astoria, Oregon.
Check out their website and see what they have to offer......a good chance to challenge yourself to make some other exotic animals and have a place to sell them! Again their website is: www.tapirback.com
Have a Bear-y happy day!

Hi Ellen, I have another question....I found this old bear and was hoping you could give me an idea how old and who made it and what country. It has a triangler head. I have looked at many bear sites and have not found one like mine....any help would be helpful...Thanks Lanny
The last I heard from Andy....he was visiting Robyn's son in Idaho, went on an airplane ride and to a wild animal park in Canada. From there he went to a home in Minnesota (I think) someone from the school Robyn's son works at. I have not heard about him, have tried to track him down, but not with much success. I will try again once I get back from camp next week.

Ahhhh....Labor Day weekend.....we have been at camp from Aug. 29, through the holiday weekend, and on through this next weekend. I am home today, checking email and chat pages, doing laundry and re-filling the groceries! We picked the perfect time to go, as the weather has been fabulous!. Had a total of 3 "older adults" (hubby, myself and a good friend) 2 newlyweds, 2 almost getting married, 8-year old girl, 4 dogs, ranging from a 10-month old Weinmeriner (sorry about the spelling) 2 Border Collies (1 yr & 4 ysr. old) and my 4 (almost 5) year old Aussie. Got the siding done on camp, went out in the boat, played some good games and had some good fun and conversations. Now.....it will be back to camp and close up for the winter Sad, but it has to be done.

Don't know if I will be home in time.....I have a Drs. appt. about 3 hours away.......
