Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Hi Girls
I am so glad that I had the idea of an Anime Golly challenge!! I can't belive all the good that has come out of it!! Thank you for all the stories ladies! I was born in Cuba, my father was Cuban and my mother from Spain. I always thought of myself as white growing up ( I came here when I was 24 years old ) but, in here, I am not, I am Latin. I think is silly to put a name on people. To me we are bad or good and that is what really counts.
I did work a little on my Challenge Golly, I better say Gollies because I am making 5 and I don't know the one I will want to use. I did, most of them, with a wire armature ( I am thinking maybe I will want him ( or her?? )  to be holding something??  I am working on them and on a couple of bears ( friend's "B" days coming!! ) and I will make the Gollies and then decide ( or they will! You know how that is Dilu ) what I want them to be ( boy or girl ) and how I will dress them FUN!!
Ok I better go my husband is sooooooooooooooooooo good with me! Very patience always and it will be very bad on my part if I do not go and cook something for dinner!! Is getting to that time!!

Guys..I have a silly ( that is ME! ) question. How do you open a gallery challenge? To put the pictures on is what I am talking about. I am soooooooooooooo happy that the one for the Anime Gollies is already up!! I was thinking Uh ho! How I'll do that  and ...I can see it is up!! HURRAY! I will like to know how....jut in case I think of "another" challenge.
Can somebody tell me how is done.. PLEASE :clap: !!

Gollies can be made out of many deferent fabrics. I have made one even usning Lycra ! I liked the shine in it and, even being very small ( 1 1/2" ). It is better that is not a strecchy fabric, with that one I had to be very careful stuffing him. I don't have a picture but, I can ask the friend that has him to let me take one. My Gollies are 5some jointed ( cotter pins ) and others string jointed. but, they could even be a one piece body ( like Raghedy Ann ). I like to soft sculp fingers and toes ( most of my Gollies have no shoes ) I had sculpt the noses but, I like making them separate, like a little ball. For the lips I mostly use felt but I had use other fabrics too. For hair it can be Mohair, or yarn. I used in the first Anime style I made braided synthetic hair  and in the second one, ( the one with the red dress ) yarn.

Hello Everyone this is going to be short and ( I hope !!) sweet! Like I told you guys I took the girls to the pool and oh boy !! EVERYTHING HURST!!!   My poor old muscles are telling me :- ARE YOU CRAZY??:-
Dilu thanks for the piccys. They are great!   I love  all of them! The one with the white beard make me remember  one I made. Actually was  a bear and a Golly ( like 5 years or more ago!) and the bear and the Golly looked "old"( like old people not antiques). The bear had a bold spot, a beard and was a little bit on the chubby side, wore a vest and a had to use a cane to "walk" and the Golly looked like the same "age" I made his hair with  grey ( no beard ) and both wore eyeglasses. I named the pair "old Friends" I donate them to the Good Bears of the Wold. I have a picture but, it is very bad! I was worse at taking pictures than now ( can you belive it?? )  and on a flappy disk!
Ok I have to go even my fingers hurts!! Oh before I go,
I think that it will be better if we don't have a particular size or fabric in our challenge. Don't you guys think? Everything goes should be the them too!. What about the dead line? August 31 is fine with everybody or we should wait to get more on board?
If you don't agree with me, about not having a size or fabric, let me know.

Thank you Dilu for all the information you got for us! I 'll go and check those sites later . It is scary what some people do with innocent things these days! The golly is such a sweet and cute character I want more people to know him ( or her! ) and see them for what they are ; fun, sweet happy and cute. You ask for a dead line? Well ..what about August 31 ? Let me know if everybody aggress or  not..Ok? Well I have to run...I am taking my granddaughters to the pool and ...they are in a hurry!!    I'll check later to see if we do have a date. CONGRATULATIONS Chrissi! You Golly is very cute and different! I love her BIG green eyes!! It is a very good start for our Gallery and thank you soooooooooooooooooooooo much for having it up and going already!

WOW!!! ( twice WOW!! )    I love how you guys are exited about it !! ME TOO! Dilu I know, I have an Anime Golly on the Gallery ( an another in here ) but,  I am going to have  different one for ours. You don't know me yet but, I "tend" to get carried away when I like something!! When I made the first one , the one in the gallery, I thought well, she is Anime style....She can be there and then I started thinking that we should have a gallery just for them!!

Lanie you said 3 month will be good for a dead line. What the rest of you think? One, two, three? I want,like I said, that everybody relax and have fun, even the ones that have never made a Golly of any kind!!
Dilu I like the "inspiration" Anime style smilies you show us    I am a little bit scare of the "chop, chop" part??

WOW! I am so happy to see that you guys want to participate!! About the dead line?? Well give me ideas. I don't want to put stress on nobody, like Shelli said. Bears and craft should relax you and take your mind out of "trouble"   Dilu I love your Gollies!  Thank you for being so nice to me  ( always having questions and in need of help, that is ME!) Luann you will like the Anime style on Gollies for sure. On my opinion, it is made for them!! Charlotte I will try to show a picture in here of one of the two I made ( they are in the Anime Style Challenge gallery, just in case it does not work in here, ( something that happens to me almost all the time! ) Lanie I will keep you guys posted and I do want you opinion  about, what do you wan to see, sizes,  true to Anime style or "close". I can see that some of you maybe will like to see felted ones too? I think it could be more fun if we make it, more or less, "any thing goes" but, with some limits...or not? I want it to be fun and stress free for everybody that participate... Open for ideas!!

Hello everyone!
I have an idea that I want your opinion on. I like the Anime bears and I design and made a couple for myself and then I thought that I will like to see a Golly in the same style I made her ( them....I made two! ) and I do like her so much !! I think that the style is perfect for a Golly. I don't know how many of you like or collects Gollies and I will like to know what do you think abut having an Anime style challenge.
Would you please give me your opinion about it?

What a beautiful tribute to the the families that lost loves ones and to the injured of the attacks in London! I was so sad when it happened, we here (USA) have felt that pain and live with the memories of the Towers.  You are right they should not be forgotten. I pray to our Lord for peace and for His Angels to protect all of us.

Oh my God Brenda!! That was too close!! I am glad that you and kitty are fine. We ( I am in S.California ) sometimes gets this wind call Santa Ana wind and it is bad!. This Summer, that just begun, we have had a couple of weeks of over 100 , is not unusually hot but, it is so humid and here it has always be dry heat. I am telling you there are weird thing with weather everywhere!! Mother Nature for sure has PMS or something lately!!

I DID IT!! Sorry! You are going to think...Oh!1 We got a "silly" one in here!! It have been a very difficult road ( the pictures thing) for me!
This is the baby Golly that I talked about. I don't have to tell you guys that...i am NOT good taking pictures neither This one is a baby Golly ( my design  too ) she has sleepy eyes .

Thanks so much for your kind words bout my little one. I am not afraid of nobody stealing my ideas, I have seen how is everybody in here and how willing to share, I always have been like that, to me is part of the enjoyment of being a collector and designer. I don't sale normally, a friend that owns a store in Florida did sale a few  bears for me and I was so trill!!  I have been trying to put pictures in here for so long!! I love to see other peoples' work and share mines. Finally I did it  ( hope I remember how LOL!! ) I just made another Anime Golly and did cut 4 more that I am thinking in making some boys too. I will take pictures of the other little girl and show it in here.
No I did not know that Jean and Penny like Gollies too. That is great I do love them.
I like the swap idea! No I did not know you guys do that. I am not that new in here but, I was not able to do much ( my eternal pictures' "problem" ) and I stop coming . No I am here to stay!

Thanks Denise for your compliments to my sailor bear. I like to use that king of eyes and the dreamy look. I just made a Golly, Anime style and I can not find a way to show her picture   I think that is on PSD and have to be JPG but, I can not find a wayt to change it. I am not good at computers. I do have a couple of pictures on the Anime Style Gallery too ( I don't know how I was able to get it thete!! ) and I made a mistake, the picture with a couple of Gollies is not my design!! They are from a friend that send me the picture a long time ago!! I have been trying to delete but, I can not do it! It is frustrating to want to share pictures ( I love to do that! ) and I just can't. I'll be able , one day with God's help.
I really like your little one I have been reducing the size of my bears. I made them mostly for my friends family and myself and ..I am running out of room!! I know that is the trouble of many collectors, not only me!!

Don't get me wrong, I do like the good things in life, besides family and freedom. I problably sounded pretty....How it used to be call??.. Square??   I do love big TV, good sounding music, good food ( love to go to restaurants!! ) comfortable shoes. Good perfume, have been using for a long time Red ( funny...is the color of the Communist!! )  Coffee!! I love Mocha!! the realistic looking baby dolls ( $$$ ) and BEARS!!! I am sure I forgot a "few" other "little thing"
Well.. have to go and clean house   Not fun.
