Tami, did you stuff the nose behind with anything or is that just all leather there??? It looks so much fuller.
Hugs, Kathy
P.S. thanks for the tips

Hi Kathy, I used just alittle stuffing in it. I didnt really know how much to use
and kept adding and taking it out. LOL
It was easier to sew around it though after it was stuffed alittle.

If you make smaller bears, make sure to use fray check as mohair can fray! the first bear I made turned out so cute but them I couldn't get the back seam to close tight because the mohair kept fraying.
Hugs, Kathy

Oh okay, thanks Kathy for the info, will do  bear_original

TamiL

Thanks , those are so cool,
love that dress you look so pretty and elegant!

TamiL

I'm glad the week is over, had 2 teeth capped on wed, and they are hurting more today than they did 2 days ago, so I'm more than ready for the week to be over  bear_original

Hope next week is better for everyone!

Thats true Deb, I'm giving the one I'm working on now to my mom.
And one to my mother in law.
Then I will be at the drawing board to make up my own pattern.

Gezzzzzz all the supplies and materials cost so much to make
a bear , it will be nice to be able to sell a few along the way .  bear_original

Most of the leather I had was to stiff so I found a old leather glove
and cut out the shape of the nose I liked and used a small applique stitch
to attach it to his face. I was going cut out a felt template under it to help sew it on in the right place but that didnt work out very well
so I took my pencil and made a very light mark to show top and bottom as a guide.  Sew around the nose a few time to make it look even and try hiding your
stitches.
I think it is Nancy Tillberg book that showed great directions on this. I have about
6 books and they all seem to be about the same.

TamiL

Since I have never bought any by the yard etc,
who has the best prices, specials etc?

Thanks,

TamiL

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!

TamiL

Oh Roxanne, you poor thing, I'm sorry!
My hands are pretty messed up from working on dolls, but they are
not to that point yet! I'm sure they will get there!
Gezzzzzzzzzz you use to be a hairdresser?

Wish you were still in colorado, I 'm having trouble finding the
right stylist here to cut my hair.

I bet Judi does too!
It comes on here in about 30 minutes, so I can work on my bear until then  bear_grin

TamiL

I just love that show, the costumes are gorgeous!
It is fun each week to tune in and see who gets cut!

TamiL

I collect bears and antique teacups, china.  I use to collect barbie and porcelain dolls.
The doll collection grew so much, most of it is packed away in the basement.
So I have slowed down on the dolls.

I love to check out antique stores for
handpainted china thats my favorite! It just looks so pretty displayed .
