I went into "Clare's" the accessory shop for mostly pre-teenage girls (I wish) and discovered LOADS of Steampunk items including darling miniature WORKING pocket watches and other antiquefied looking stuff.

Also someone mentioned Hobbycrafts - yes, they have watch gears and other odds and sods.

Mmmm...thinking of a new project!!!!!

Karon

My daughter Emma is having her baby on the 16th March.

I am getting a King Charles SpanielXPug at the end of March (he is not a Cavalier cross, but a King Charles, with a squashy flat face - cute is not the word - my last dog a collie passed away 14 bear_wub  bear_wub  bear_wub ).

I am now shopping for my 'babies'

Linda

Can you pm your address again, in case i mis informed the person who made the ornament for you, they said it has been returned.

Karon

Hi Ladies, thanks for your responses.

It was an actual class that I did.  I admired her work for ages when I saw it at Stitch shows etc. so I spoke to her about it and discovered she was doing a course at a place called Rainbow Silks in the village of Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire, England.  I hope to be doing a week long summer school at Missenden Abbey this year, on it.

What I really love about it is that it has 'freed' me artistically.  I just just couldn't think beyond uniformity, if you know what I mean.  Just love the colours and textures.  My first attempts (at the course) were'nt that good, but I have almost finished one, which is a belated Christmas Present for my friend Sheri, (and is lovely in shades of lilac and purples) and then I hope to finish the other ones which will be a field of poppies.

There were only four of us (excluding Gilda) and EVERYONE was SO friendly and helpful.  One of the best courses I have EVER been on - and as some people know I am a course-a-holic!

Yes, I have just taken up a new hobby and - Eureka - I am as potty about it as bear making!

I went on a course with a textile artist called Gilda Baron and now I am hooked (in the literal sense!) on "dry felted textural landscapes".  With this art I have discovered I can push the boundaries of creativity, I have even found out that I can do simple embroidery (beyond doing a bear's nose that is!).

Please google "Gilda Baron" to have a look at the work of this wonderful lady and inspirational teacher.  She is AMAZING!!!

I DO Nichole, I do, he is BEAUTIFUL

Karon

Yesterday I received my GORGEOUS ornament from Nichole from Blackberry Creations.  OMG I just LOVE him - he is SOOOO tiny and perfect in everyway.

Nichole thank you SO much he made my day  .

I will treasure him ALL year round - everything was such I delight - from his little box, his tags and photo and the way he was nestled with a paper rose in a box of excelsior.

Please release his picture.

Thank you for making me very happy

Hi All

Pat - I am so glad you like "Spencer" your mini-bear ornament.

He is called Spencer because he "came together" one afternoon whilst I sat sewing in the cafe in our local "Marks & Spencer" with a pot of tea for company!

Please post his mug shot I would love the others to see - particularly as you so nearly didn't get him  bear_wub !!!

Many thanks .... and "have a good time" giving and receiving your gifts!

Karon

I marched down to the library today to do your recipiant names and discovered I had left list at home. AGHHHHH!!!

One of the disadvantages of not having my own computer.
