Jodi, I found the pattern instructions and it says the sweater is made from a thrift shop gray heather sweater.  Reading them again reminds me why I had someone do this for me!!!   There is a burgundy ribbon sewn onto the v neck, then gold grosgrain ribbon on top of that.  The tie is just burgundy fabric with gold grosgrain ribbon sewn on.  If you would like a copy I would gladly send it to you.  There are even instructions for the broom which is really cool!!

Harry is about 33 inches tall.  The smaller one is 19 inches.


A lady actually made the outfits for me, I hadn't quite discovered that I could sew a bit.  The pattern said to find an old sweater and cut it down.  I will look for those afterwhile.  The tie is made of a maroon material with a grossgrain (sp??) ribbon sewed on.  I will definately look for this stuff!!!!

Thanks Jodi!  I'll try to get a pic of the smaller one.  When I was making him, and he didn't have his glasses on, his hair was just right... he looked like John Lennon, so after that, but I haven't had time, I thought about making my own 'young' John doll.  If anyone is interested I can go back and look up everything and you could make your own Harry!

Here is the big doll I made several years ago.  I made my sister a smaller version.  I would love to try a Harry Potter bear or a Ron bear or.... It'll be fun!
I remember when we went to the midnight showing of the first movie a woman brought her little boy who sat beside me in his cape and glasses with his wand.  When it came to the "Swish and Flick" part of the movie he was so adorable!

I am constantly listening to the cd's, reading every book over and over.  My personalized tag on my mini is GRYFNDR.  I made myself a large Harry Potter doll and my sister a smaller one (that one was much easier).  Obsessed?  I think I am.  I am actually listening to Order of the Phoenix right now!  I have pre ordered the book and the cd and I can't wait for the movie.
Harry and Ron are my favorites, but Fred and George are right up there too! 
Although I like Michael Gambon, I really miss Richard Harris as Dumbledore.

Wanda, check out ebay for cd's of the books, I got several of mine from there at really decent prices brand new.

Brenda, I am not sure which brand it is that I have used.  (I will ask my Mom tomorrow and get back with her answer).  Are there any stained glass shops around you so you could actually go and try different ones out?  I know I prefer the shorter cutter that has a flat top on it that rests between your thumb and index finger, against your palm I guess is what I am trying to say.
My Mom took a class a long time ago and she was able to try out what they had before purchasing.  There are also a lot of companies on line that might be cheaper to buy from when the time comes to purchase a cutter.

My cousin Stuart is there.  He resides in one of the dorms where the shootings took place.  Playing phone tag, the only thing I found out is that he is okay.
All my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected.  It is so sad.     Wendy

Has anyone told you guys how wonderful you all are today?  Thank you's to everyone!! I was up all night long, not able to do anything, I couldn't get this out of my head.  I have called the employment office, told my side, he said it might be a few weeks before I know if I can make a claim.

One thing about the reviews, they never would in ten years let us have a copy of them. I really never thought anything about this.  All of mine were very very good reviews, I couln't have asked for anything better.  This is something we will have to discuss with the lawyer.

Another co-worker called me last night and said that when the supervisor announced to everyone in the lab that we no longer worked for the company, she said you could have heard a pin drop.  After that they stayed in the lab to discourage any talking.

That trick worked for my sister when we were at the Beach a while back.  She was walking around huccuping loud enough for a lady to ask her this question.  They stopped.  Can't hurt to try!    Wendy

Hi everyone. 
I kinda need some advice here.
I went into work today, just like everyother day. A few hours into the shift my supervisor asked (very sickly sweet, I might add) if she could speak to me.  I got up from my work. ( I accession medical specimens, numbering them, putting them into the computer, getting them ready to go onto the big lab that does the testing.)  I was taken into the conference room, where another lady sat.  She intoduced herself as the human resources person.  I told her I had met her before about two years or so ago.  She told me that she had a few questions about my time. Said that there were gaps from what the computer said and what the time clock said.  My brain is beginning to shut down at this point. 
I told her that there were times (everyday) when we finish accessioning what is there and have to wait for more of the couriers to come in with more specimens.  I told her that I always went on my break at 10 till 6.  Then I said that after lunch I sometimes pulled the order folder ( we also have to pull stock and put up stock for them) going through to see who got what and handing them out.  Then I would sit and do my order entry.  After that is done, I am off the computer to pull supplies and put up stock.
I have been at this job for what would have been 10 years in June.
The HR wench then tells me that that is not good enough and as of this moment I was terminated from the company.

I don't quite know what to do.  All this took place in a total of about three to four minutes.  My brain does not work in situations like this. 
A few minutes before my "meeting" my friend and co-worker was done the same way.

A few weeks ago we were told in a meeting that there were plans to downsize.  A week before that there was another meeting in which we were supposed to be able to talk to some higher-ups about things that had been going on at the branch where my co-worker had asked for a raise.  I was not there, but I was told that it was all done in a professional manner.  She had documents to the fact that a branch only 90 miles away was making four more dollars an hour than we were and that particular branch is in a place with a lower cost of living.

I don't know what to do.  I think I am still in shock, actually.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Speaking tonight with my friend, she has already hit the internet and is going to speak to a lawyer tomorrow.  We won't get our jobs back, but the giant red letters of "YOUR FIRED" won't be on the job record...

They're adorable!  We've got a full blooded pit bull next door, he's bigger than I am and he's a giant baby.   I blame owners for mean dogs, and the #$$'# that dump them, well, I hope there is a special place for them.... :twisted:    I'm so glad you have found them good homes!!!    Wendy
