They're Bengals, Cyndee. Two spotted, and one marble. The first cat we had was an Abby, and a Somali after that. Right now, the house is owned by Bengals, a Tokinese, Maine Coon, and Harley, our "garbage dump" cat. We found him as a tiny kitten in the garbage in the parking lot at work. We also have a dog, but unfortunately, just today, she was diagnosed with bone cancer.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Becky, I didn't realize that Etsy offered that category, that sounds like a good idea
Maybe someone can help me, because I came up with an idea, but don't know how to market it. I want to offer services to bear artists that sell patterns where I make professional looking pattern pieces with smooth curves and even lines and seam allowances. I can also produce PDF files for e-patterns. In having purchased some patterns, I've noticed that many of them are hand drawn, and some are not that accurate.
I've worked in the graphics field for many years and am familiar with vector drawing, etc. Though new in the bearmaking world, I'm definitely an old hat with computer graphics.
My problem is I have no clue where to start with something like this, as far as advertising. I can't do bearpile, cause I'm not actually selling a bear or a pattern, just a service.
Any ideas?
Cathy is a sweetheart! It's funny, I didn't used to like anime style bears, but now I've grown to just love them. I think they're the cutest things!
He is really sweet. It's a testament to just how real he looks, that I actually feel bad for him, with the scratch on his nose, and the story you told. I'd swear that was a real kitty.
I'm looking forward to this! I plan to start making my cards this weekend. I'm going to send to more than my five, but it all depends on how many cards I manage to get made
Amazing work as usual! It's all the extra thought you put into your props/scenes that make your bears and other animals all the more special.
Pampas is adorable!
Nutmeg is a real sweetheart!

I am amazed at how you can create such tiny little bears. They are always so detailed and cute!

I have a thing for meerkats also. My friends laugh at me all the time because I'll see a photo of one and just gush. There's just something about them that makes them very appealing to me, and yours is such a great example of one!
another sweet little baby, I love him
He is absolutely the cutest thing ever! He is very realistic, and makes me want to hug him
Oh, as aways, I love your little babies! (though this time, he's not that little, is he? :))
He's beautiful Melisa!

He is just gorgeous! I love all your bears
Shane, I'm using a combination, Adobe Illustrator and Wishblade "Create n Cut". With some experimentation, I realized that the software that was made for scrapbooking is perfect for patterns too! It has an outline feature, that lets you put in your desired seam allowance size, and it automatically draws the seam allowance around the pattern shape. Also, if you have the Wishblade or the Quickutz Silhouette, you can have the machine cut the pattern pieces out for you, exactly on the lines you choose. Also, it imports eps or ai files, so you can draw your designs in other drawing programs and import it into the Wishblade software. It stays vector, so you can resize and layout the pieces easily.
I'm new to bearmaking, but I'm a fanatic about graphic software, so I try to learn them all :)

Nan
Ok, I'll make the head a little bigger then! The good thing about using a computer to design is it's easy to make changes :)
Gail...I'm taking a design class at ebearz university.
Leonora...yes, I've made the gusset, it's a wide one because I wanted her to look on the young side if possible. You can right click on the jpg and save it if you want. The arm was just a combination of circles and ovals. I had been planning on doing a straight arm with wire for bending, and have about 10 different arms, but I liked this arm alot, so I'm going with it, I think.
This is a first draft of a pattern. I can't decide if the proportions are correct. I figured there are lots of experienced artists here that maybe can give thei opinion on what I should change.
hugs,
Nan
He/she is beautiful!
What a precious, beautiful puppy! I can't believe how lifelike she looks!

What a beautiful cat! I love the realism, and that chubby tummy is just meant to be rubbed!
What a beautiful little girl, and I absolutely adore her outfit!
Count me in, details sent!
What a great job you did, he's so adorable!
