Darn in th wrong country for that one but I love it!!
I believe so as Kpaws and klyons both use it and airbrus it
I think it is really cute... a real character full of mischief.
When "painting " a bear layer, layer, layer once each layer is on some people heat set it using their oven or their blow/hair dryer on hot. Brush it between layers as well makes sure t is soft and lovely.
At the top of the forum you will find te library where more info on painting/airbrushing will be.
good luck
I have participated in quite a few bear swaps and don't think it's a good idea to divide it up. I have received bears from beginners, hobbyists and professionals and adore them all the same. It is the thought and effort behind them.
The second question if you decide to divide it would be how would you determine which person goes into which group?
Julia if you are worried I wouldn't be. The bears I have seen of yours are lovely little characters.
Thanks for the help guys.
I get frustrated when I can't create and then feel guilty when I try and get some me time.
Setting down times for family crafting sounds like a good idea. Evenings are hard as DH likes "our" time as well. Sometimes when he sleeps early I can get suff done but others well
I love my family and the bears will have to take the second spot for a while and just work round it when I can.
Maybe.
I have been finding it hard to make bears. My DDs as soon as I sit down to make wish to make as well but then they need so much help (11, 8, 5 & 4) that I lost the urge to create as I wasn't concentrating on mine. I work as well (love my worK but not much time for bears).
Anyway Oddly enough it is the imminent arrival of No 5 that has had my DH concerned about my lack of creativity and has decided I deserve a studio!
Now it may not be much but I am really thrilled at the idea. The other thing is that I may be able to sneak off without having all 4 girls descend on me demanding they make as well.
Now in the mean time (as it may never eventuate lol) I need some advice. I work full time and I also have to drive to work as I drive between clents. I am up early in the morning 5am to leave by 6am. I am not a morning person.
The afternoons are busy with children, housework, cooking and general life.
So how do you juggle family and bears? I have a supportive hubby and he works long hours as well and he helps round the house. It is mainly when I do get a bit of time the girls want me helping them.
What do you do?
any suggestions?
And yes i am a glutton for punishment going for No 5 butI will get time then to make. LOL
I love your cats!!!
I spose you would use them like armature, inside the bear so it would be hidden. Other than that no idea sorry.
Hey Laura,
I cheat and use a hole saw to cut discs. Get a nice centred hole and all
If the edges are a bit rough I sandpaper them.
Are those little doggies jointed? They are so adorable.
marvelous.
Never mind
I also came up with an Ning ID.
Wonder what I've joined now LOL
Help anyone?
You could try making your own using polymer clay and then painting the with black nail polish.
I'm not sure where else to get them from and this way you can make them whatever size you wish.
Well I disappear at times then reappear.
I am not going to renew my website as I use wordpress and have my name on that. I am able to have several pages and so will organise that a little better. I have etsy and eBay but at present not much on either. LOL.
I also have FB just recently more active on that just because people seem to check that as well. But not too much really. I am trying to get my bears back on track so am avoiding too much interent time.
Look forward to seeing this on your site. can't make it to Sydney though.
Oooh yes please.
The other thing that is happening is that paypal will hold the money until buyers give a positive feedback so it can take up to 3 weeks before you see any money. That I have trouble with.
Sellers are unable to give negative feedback and this is another cause for concern. I use Paypal but I really dislike being told what I can and can't do. What about people who don't want to use paypal to buy, who don't have an account with them?
Direct deposit is cheap and easy for us in Aussie and I do this with many things.
It contravenes quite a few trade practices in Australia and there are many people who are going to the ACCC (trading group meant to protect us).
I don't see how it is going to stop them though.
In Australia you could try selling on Bid4Bears, Bearpile and Oztion. I'm sure there are others too it's just getting the word out.
