Miss Judi,

I will reiterate what I mentioned on another board...
I am so sorry.... Being in the business that we are in, we are "people pleasers." We do everything in our power to make the customer happy. We love what we are doing and feel like the customer should feel the same way. It just hurts way down deep when we are not taken serious for the hours of work that we put into our bears. We just have to think positive that this person will do the honest thing and pay you what he owes you. If not, you do still have his mailing address...... If he dosn't respond to the e-mails, I would be writing him letter after letter. It would probably get to the point where he would just throw them away, but he would still be reminded and have to think about what he is doing.
I also am very sorry for your loss. I lost my mama a couple months ago, I still think about her every minute.

Hi Nancy,
I done a search for Alaskan names and I came up with this website that has Alaskan dog names, origins and meanings.

Thanks Judi for the encouraging words about ebay. ;-)
Being in the area of Texas that I live in, I can not attend shows because they are quite a distance from me. Also, listing them on sites, as in, Bearpile and such, they list on the front and very quickly move down the line for there are so many other fabulous artists that are listing too. I have to depend on ebay quite a bit for sales. I myself have been very dissapointed by not having my very low reserves being met and then having to relist them and having to take such a great lose on the critter. It seems like for the last couple months all I have been doing is "giving" ebay money with no profit at all. But on the other hand..... I can look it at a way of keeping my name on the "active duty" list bear_tongue   Also, the item is going to a mom that truly appreciates your work and will love it forever.
Now that I have had my "pitty parade" I feel a little better...I hope I did not bore you all to tears...

Wow, you know what? Here in Odessa TX I can pick up the box of bb's right off the shelf and put it in the buggy. hmmmmm.... I dont know if that is a good thing or not :/

Oh, and you know what I have used for the standing bears? At the beauty supply store, They have permanent rods for long hair, that are long wire coated with like a foam rubber. They come in all different lengths and diameters. I cut it to length. And where the wire is cut, I use my needle nose plyers and make a loop to attach it then to the cotter pin on the leg joint. It gives the leg strength to stand, plus when it sits the legs can be possed in different possitions. But it helps if the leg is stuffed a bit on the firm side, plus the weight in the feet. I guess they kind of work like the flex limbs.

Hugs,
Roxanne

Hello,

I went on a mad search through my older TB&F's magazines and found who "Granny" is!
I found her in the Oct. of 1998 issue, her name is Lynn Lumley. They called her "Grandma Lynn."
Well, her bears are made with the 2 piece heads and are as adorable as I remembered them to be!
I will scan a picture to show you all what one of them look like. But I am not sure if I can do this without permission or not. So if anyone is interested or knows if I can show the pic or not, just let me know, alrighty :D

Hugs,
Roxanne

Yes, I to think that the centre-seams do resemble the ol Steiff bears, but I also feel like they resemble a real bear too. A real bear appears to have a center part right down their head.

Ya'll have the wheels turning in this little pea brain about the 2 piece heads. I remember reading a few years back about a gal who they called "Granny"something. I cant remember her name, anyhow, she made her teddies with a 2 piece head. They were real cute and very feminine like. Always a pair like a mommy and daughter.
Anyone might know who she is?
Hugs,
Roxanne

Paula,

Now I can see how your mind can be so fresh and full of beautiful new designs ;)
My mother in-law is from the UK, she was what she calls a "war-bride" from WWII. She misses it so and wishes that she was in better health so that she could go home just one more time.
Thanks for sharing such beautiful pictures from this "flat lander" from west Texas! bear_ermm
