Oh I looked at the pictures and was shocked to see what appears to be the chef in the background of the first picture with a cigarette in his hand . Owwwwwwwww. That said they are fantastic I was on a cruise a couple of years ago and display of melons that had been carved were in the dining areas they were great. Not something I could do I'm afraid.

I just got an email from Dave at Bearpile warning of a scam that is going around bearpile from a hoax email address so far has hit half the artists on the site. They seem to think we are an easy target because of the nature of our product. Take care and don't be sucked in by these leeches.

I have dyed Lou Bear too and other mohair as well I always use Rit in very hot water (near boiling) but absolutely soaked in cold water before putting it in the dye bath. I love the results. Just this weekend I have done several pieces and I especially like the rit purple/ dark grape it comes out beautifully. I have used Dylon too and it worked as well but the rit has a better range of colours and I get it from spotlight or tedebits in Sydney Valma has just recently started stocking it even some hardware stores have it. You could try Lindcraft as well. I think this is probably my most favourite part of the bear making process. It is so much fun.

Hi Denise I have one too and I know when he/she is sun baking my dogs get very excited but don't get to close he/she gets up on the pool coping and we have a bushrock waterfall that he/she likes to sun on to (but not when anyone is in the pool) I think they are really lovely and their tongue is such a great shade of blue. You know when summer is really starting to warm up when they start to come out again.
