I'm with Shelli on this one...
Do you mean what keywords should you use to describe your web site? as in the meta tags?
Or do you want keywords to look up for a web site?

Just something small to add,
I use that waxed stuff I put my eyes on with. I always break the perle cotton and I don't think it's very strong. Where that waxed floss never breaks, and it sticks so I find it's easier to hold everything.
That will help you for sure Shantell

Good Grief how hard are you pulling.
Perle Cotton wasn't designed to take heavy amounts of tenison.

Shantell -
Do you use bee's wax on the floss?
That might help.

Amanda,
I am glad to post it.

Fran,
I would assume that the picture was taken somewhere around 1910.

Marie,
Congrats!
I know all of those names and they have been around for years.
Martha, Diana, Candi, and Bev are all great gals. I know the others, but I can't remember if I have meet them.

As for signing your bears...
This is what we do. We sign, date, and write our company name on a small piece of leather and then place that in the body's back seam near the tush. Hench the name tush tag. We were discussing the whole tush tag/signing issue in another thread.

I hope that works. If not I'll figure something else out.
Hugs,
Jared

Gee and I just went to Wal*Mart and bought a tent.
It was a Deluxe model with all the extra rooms and central heating.
Shucks I'll have to take it back.

I like the idea of burning my fingers, singed eye brows, and the like...
Nothing the the smell of burnt skin in the morning... bear_rolleyes

Dearie, I am only 29.
It is a picture of my great great great great grandmother.
So I would be repeating myself if I said it was a family photo, but my grandmother gave it to my mother several years ago.
Her name was Calferna Gilbert.

Jare Hares & Bears

CalfernaGilbert22.jpgFor those of you who where wondering...
I e-mailed John Port and this is what he said:

The bear is definitely an early Ideal, probably from around 1908-10. The picture is beautiful – what a treasure. This style Ideal is classic and so sought after.

Now I just wish I had the little guy.

Shelli -
If I go it will have to be longer than 2 weeks. I am thinking like 2 years.

Daphne,
That's ok when I was in 4th grade all the girls had cooties. It all balances out in the end.

As to the whole 9th day thing, that is why I said that you need to get the newest translation.
Translated by Theodore G. Bear.

There are somethings that shouldn't be shared with everyone.

I would have SCREAMED at my mother if she ever did anything like that to me, but that are far worse things a mother could do.

Jane    :)

This, my dear Jane, is why the Good Lord gave us restaurants.

You need to get the newest translation -

And on the 9th day God spoke, "Let there be restaurants, it is not good that people should have to cook for themselves." And it was done and God saw that it was good. And the people rejoiced greatly saying, "Great is our Lord in Heaven for he hath seen to the needs of housewives, single men, and busy people. Praise be to God. AMEN!" And it was a great thing...

Shelli -
I guess that I would get left behind here state's side... he he.

Someday I would like to travel to Europe and see all the sights.
I was going to go to Germany while in school, but I ran out of money before that semester. Oh well.
My German is really rusty. I haven't read or spoken any in such a long time.
I would most likely get us all suck in a barn eating hay and milking the cows for free. he he...

I don't know that Christmas tastes like anything to me.

I all know is that it meant being up all nite preparing for a Craft show in our house. In which no cooking took place for over a week, oh wait we don't cook period! So that was normal.
Then after the craft show we would collapse for about one nite's good sleep and be getting ready for Toy Fair.

I'd have to go for mum's chocolate chip cookies with walnuts and sometimes spiced cider, if we had enough energy to make it.

To make your own fabric computer paper:
1. Fabric - i use muslin
2. Printer
3. Computer
4. Freezer Paper
5. Hot Dry Iron
6. Fray Block or Fray Check

Coat fabric with fray check, let dry.
Cut out Freezer paper to the correct size ( here in the US 8.5" X 11" or 8.5" X 14")
With a hot dry(no steam) iron press the shiny side of the freezer paper to the fabric.
I press from the back side of the paper.
Cut the excess fabric away from the freezer paper, using good SHARP shears.
Place in printer so that the fabric will be printed on.
Cut out your design and viloa! You have you design on fabric without having to pay $6.00/package for only 3 sheets.

Mom uses this to create custom ribbons.

I think I am going to try this for my tags. I will get a waterproof marker and sign after I print them out.
I'll let you know if I have any luck.

This message was posted to another Teddy Group that I belong to on yahoo. I don't know if anyone here knew her, but I thought it a good idea to pass it on just in case someone did.

I am writing now to post a death notice for a wonderful Canadian bear artist - Laura Pedosuk.  Her husband called me this afternoon to tell me of her passing.  It was a great shock.  She was a truly wonderful person.  If it wasn't for her I would not be making bears today.  She was a very well-known bear artist who has been featured in all the Teddy Bear Magazines.  Her husband asked if I would please inform any of the bear chat people that I knew so if there are any artists out there who also belong to other groups could they please pass the sad news on for him.  She was a great lady who will definitely be missed by many.

Thanks.

If you would like I can box up Zippy and Teddy and send them to you via parcel post...

You can keep Zippy, just send Teddy back sometime in the Spring. Zippy is the black one.

I say nuts to it all and do your own thing!
But be mindful of the force youngling.... (opps this is teddy talk and not Star Wars... he he  bear_grin )

I understand both sides of what people are saying about coying. Mom and I do American Patriotic pieces in a specific way. The colour arrangement is usually the same. One time I went to a show an saw another artist had copied our bears... (I know that that is exactly what she did, because I know the artist.) I know that we can't prevent people from copying the colour arrangement, but come on. Come up with your own idea.
What I have found in doing shows, artists see that you have a signature style or bear and they go out of their way to not copy that.
When I decided to do the Big Head style, I studied what others were doing and came up with something that was along the same lines, but was different.

Do what you want to do, but come up with your own version. If you find that your bears are like someone else's do something else. Otherwise I would say who cares. How many different Ballerina Bears can this group come up with? I can think of several designs myself.

Shelli - Forget the tights and the shoes! I say strip the bear down to the tutu and put here in a half shell. Maybe give her a binki top, after all a bear doesn't care to overexpose herself. She will need a bottle of sunblock. LOL

I have to add that I miss the 80s music too!
But then again I miss the 90s music too.

My roommates in college introduced me to rap. When I was home during breaks I missed the rap. Go Figure.

Eminem is a big whiner, but I have to admitt that I like some of his music. I saw the ipod commerical and I like that song. Mom said, "Do you understand it?" I said no, but I don't know if she was talking about the music or the commerical itself.

Ipod also used a song with the lyrics wind me up, put me down and watch me go... one of the Dog Shows used it too. Does anyone know what the title of the song is or who the artist is?
