I don't have my first Teddy Bear. I don't even remember him.......I do remember having 3 very large standing on all 4's dogs that were attacked by a neighbor's dog one time, so they went in the trash. I do have fond memories of playing 'house' with all my animals......a large pink elephant, smaller one and a small multi-colored one, a duck, monkey............
When I graduated High School and came home after quitting the 1st college I went to, we were moving and I was TOLD to get rid of the animals, so I gave them to a friends daughter who enjoyed them, don't know what happened to them. BUT! I would NOT give up my John bear that was my 16th birthday present from a friend of my parents.....I still have John....should have named him David........and my collection has grown again....I can't imagine what it would be like if I still had all the original animals I grew up with.......not a doll among them.
I have saved my son's and daughter's animals.....repaired the one my son & I were given the day he was born. He slept with it for 20 years, then gave it back to me when he left....after I cried on it for a while, I replaced the old rubber stuffing with poly fil, and he sits in the corner of my room with other animals climbing all over him......
Well, I can say that I have NOT lost ANY weight since January 1.......BUT! I have not smoked since Dec. 30..........AND I still have 9 fingernails (I chewed off a thumb nail the other day as I sat reading) that will teach me to spend my nights reading instead of working on bears!
How is everyone else doing??????
Sorry to hear about Magic. I will send this information on to my daughter, whose dogs love the greenies. My dog never liked them, so I don't buy them. I have been giving him Dental Stix, which are a rawhide bar with mint and parsley.....he enjoys them, but he doesn't get them everyday.
I hope Magic is up and about with you again soon........
Ellen
So glad to hear things turned out well......your family will be in prayers tonight for a quick recovery from all the aches and pains...........
What are the exact dates and times for the show? If I am not elsewhere, I will make the 5 hour trip to visit everyone............
oooo....I would love to have him come calling on me! He is sooooo handsome.
Wal Mart (at least the one closest to my house) Does Not have the Poly-Pellets. I am searching for them so I can start stuffing my life-sized penguin......guess I will have to make an hour trip the other direction!
When is it on??????I want to see this one! (and I don't like reality shows)

I love all animals......I don't consider bugs, spiders and such animals, just ugly things that I have to deal with. My favorite animals are bears, all kinds..Panda bears were my favorite, now taken over by the Moon Bears. Koalas are awesome.
Penguins I think are my favorite at present.
After being among them, walking in the colonies, watching them walk to and from the ocaen, listening to the noise, watching the chicks chase the parent and the Skuas trying to get their food, I have to admire Penguins. I have found the addition of penguins to my bear line-up has produced some interesting after-effects. People seem to like them, perhaps March Of The Penguins has something to do with Penguin interest.
I have repaired bears before, but hey have been from man-made fur, not mohair. What I have done, is find the seam where it was sewn up the first time and take it out. Then I turn the bear inside out and replace the stuffing and repair anything I can from the inside. Then I turn it right-side-out and finish up with new eyes, nose, stuffing, whatever.
I don't know if it would be any different with mohair......but what I have done has worked well with synthetic furs. Good luck with your project!
Happy Valentine's Day to all.......my hubby let me stay in bed this morning, AND he is taking me out to dinner tonight! Wonders never cease!

I read this message from Animals Asia and cried. It has made me more determined to finish up designing my Moon Bear, who I decided to name Andrew, and get him out travelling and auctioned off with all funds going to AA. There will be a bright star in the heavens tonight for him.......rest well Andrew.
Seems to be fine here........nice site.....
What a unique idea........I will have to try that next time.......especially for my penguins, but the big one won't fit. .............the others will though!
Your little guy is very cute........and the yogurt container is a nice touch, something sweet that he can eat. :bday: hopefully he didn't make a mess while eating it.
Sorry to hear about your son. Outside accidents like that are very scary. Thankfully it was not worse. Sending my prayers and good vibes your way.......

The Ground Hog may have predicted 6 more weeks of winter, but up here (and probably in Canada and New Hampshire) we EXPECT at least that much more plus a few weeks more! We finally got some nice snow on Monday. I don't think I will see the buds for another month or two..........Love the change of seasons........and shorts weather is about 0 degrees F for the teen agers in this area!
Thank you all for your kindness. As more information comes out.....the 16 year old was driving his own 2006 Mishubishi Eclipse and apparantley speed was the main cause of the accident. Both were killed instantly.
Your thoughts and prayers are most welcome and appreciated.
I have never heard of the Rainforest Cafe. Although we have lots of restaurants in this town, we don't go out to eat very often. A really good place (we are going for dinner on Valentine's day) is the Bier Keller at Hohmeyer's Lake Clear Lodge in the Adirondacks. Excellent German food, and a beautiful spot. I guess my favorite restaurant locally is Sabads, Hungarian food..........(actually anyplace we go to eat is my favorite at the time! )
This morning, my neighbor's 16 year old son, their only child, was killed in a car accident on his way to school after picking up a 17 year old friend, who was also killed. This is a very small school district and community (I think the graduating class is around 50 to 75 students) Would just like prayers said for the family. I don't know them very well, but I do know that they are very nice people. Thanks. Ellen
I watched some of Puppy Bowl.......so did my dog! But, it was a little boring just watching that, so I was switching between that, Lion King 1 1/2 and Ice Age..... hubby stayed watching SB!
Thanks Penny, the pic. came up, cute little guys aren't they? This is my pup Ti, he is now 3 years old.
The picture of the Puggle did not show up on my computer......so I don't know how cute it is.....the other mixes are....certainly different.......The one dog that I met last year and would love to get is a Leonberger. I don't have any pictures, but did a search for it and they are beautiful, huge dogs. I want one, but I don't think it will fit into a conoe very easlily.........

For the past 2 years I have been involved with a group called the Northern Adirondack Trading Cooperative. NATC for short. We are a group of Artists and Artisans from the St. Lawrence Seaway Valley area that are members of the county Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber, with help from Hewlett Packard, E-Bay, and Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton's office started NATC to help local people interested in selling their products to a larger (worldwide) area. After 2 1/2 years, we finally have a website. You can go on the website to see who the artists are, and then you can go directly to their website, or email them, or whatever. There are numerous products from soap to wood, teddy bears to hand-woven clothing and rugs.
The website is: www.natconline.org Enjoy!
I love him.....can I meet him in person on Saturday when I come up?
