Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

I will have a go.
At the moment I have a Christmas swap, Christmas ornamont, commissioned bear, and getting ready for a large craft market.
Whats one more challenge, keeps the mind and fingers busy..

Sounds like fun, getting into the christmas spirit world wide, I'm in..

Wendy, what a beautiful garden.  Gardening is my next passion after bear-making.
Hard work but to look out on all the colour is so relaxing....

Alet, I think that you have hit the nail on the head,  what works for some doesn't work for others.

So pick the one or ones that work for you...

Krista, I just love him.  What a lucky collecter to get this one....

I have been selling my bears on e-bay for about 12 months now, and am sort of happy with how they have been going.  E-bay can be a bit fickle.

The other avenue of sale for me here in Australia are craft markets. Some may say but true teddy collecters don't go to craft markets.

I have found that over the 4 years that I have been doing them I have had some customers come back.  I always make sure I have plenty of business cards to hand out that has my website on it.

Cost of these markets can range from $10 to $25 ( thats Aussie dollars )

The plus for this is they are local and not far from home, no airfares.

One market we do twice a year is $77 for the day, it is situated about 15 minutes from home, about 300 stall holders ranging from hand-made goods to yummy food.
We always do well at this market.

To explain the "we" my husband makes woodcraft products so our stall is a combined effort.

So, my selling avenues are e-bay, craft markets and when we are travelling around our beautiful country in our caravan I take a few bears with me and have managed to sell most of them.

Now, I am thinking of having a go at a bear show next year, won't know what it is like until I give it a try.

Nothing ventured nothing gained....

Bonney, someone suggested putting your name or e-bay I.D.  on the photos as it may deter the stealer from using your picture.  Much easier to steal a clear picture than having to crop of names etc.

Don't know if it is working or not?

Wow, they are terrific Lynette.   Have just started to do needle-felting and boy, I hope that down the track I can get faces like that done on my critters....

What a sweetie Louise, her little outfit looks great.  Its a bit scary as to how close Christmas is...

Beautiful kangaroo paw.  Hope to get over to the west one day to see the wildflowers,  hear they are a wonder to see..

To see a little critter emerge from the fibre, it just amazes me...

Actually Dwight Yoakam is not a bad looking guy.  Haven't seen him without his hat though.
Can you imagine when he was born and only a few hours old and his parents said to each other,  I think we will call him Dwight.

I often think of this scene when I see a very unusual name...

The Dixie Chicks concert was terrific, and a week later we went to see Dwight Yoakam.   He sang 54 songs and was money well worth spent for the ticket.

Have to save our money now for the next concert.... hoping to see Chris Isaccs in November...

Yes, he has in own teeth and arty, let me think......he loves to play golf, there is an art in that I think.
He loves a glass of red also...

My brother is 62, hope he is not too old for you.  Not very tall and has a moustache and thinning hair.   

BUT he is the most wonderful guy you would ever want to meet..... still interested..
