Yummy bear....
How could you not love Loui when you look into those eyes! He looks like he is going to whistle...
WOW...that is one amazing rabbit. What a talented artist you are. Congratulations!
Oh good...that is the way I drew mine. Of course it hasn't been tested yet!
I just bought three bear patterns to chose from but when it came down to it, I made my own pattern for this baby bear!
Great idea...I can't wait to get this one done either. I am trying to work at getting this dumb sewing maching to work. It's only 30 years old...you'd think it could last a lot longer than that!
Thanks, I'll give it a try. She doesn't have to sit up, she is, after all, a baby!
The bear in my head that is wanting out is a baby bear...she is wearing a sweater, cap and booties hand knit by my friend. She not only has a round tummy, she has a chubby little bum. Now, my question is, have any of you ever put a "chubby little bum" on a bear? How did it work out. I kmow the bear seam is in the back and could be a problem. I'm new at this so, please, any advise will be appreciated!
I just found this subject and it looks like a lot of fun. Do you ever have challenges for new comers? When is the next challenge? This is exciting!
I've just started in this bear making but I have for many, many years made cloth dolls. I have boxes full of patterns but I can not bring myself to make the same doll twice. I already know what that one looks like. I make up a new pattern every time. I am musing over the concept of having just a very few patterns with many options. That sounds great to me. You could put your bear together anyway you like...
My problem is...I tend to like the big bears...say 20 to 30 inches! I seem to be really wierd. Perhaps I should try making a smaller bear and trying to love that? To me Teddy Bears are for hugging and I can't see anyone hugging anything less than, say, 15 inches! Can you just see it, I am having a bad day, sitting home alone and reach for my teddy, a little 7 1/2 inch thing, to give me a big "it's OK" hug! Now that's a picture....
Thank you so much Nancy...I have a bear with straight arms and I was just thinking last night that I would like them bent with the paws turning back. I am going to try it out...
I'm not an experienced artist but I love your pattern. I do think the head may turn out a little small. Do you have a gusset for it? Of course I have seen a lot of baby bears with shorter snouts that look great. I am right now trying to shorten up a snout for a curly haired baby bear.
I do love the arm and would love to have a copy of it to look at when designing my bears. Would you mind sending me a pic of the arm? I promise not to use your arm, just look at it.
Now I want to be able to make a nose like that...cute!
No, he wasn't a kit. I made him up. His paws are real leather...would you believe they were elbow patches for men's jackets!
I put white felt behind his eyes but not sure I like that...
Thanks...I thought they only sold mohair! They had most of what I needed. Lenora
I contacted a friend today and she said yes!!! Now I have to get the baby bear out of my head and into my arms!
Here he is...I hate to even post him here with all your wonderful bears but I do love him...
Busy busy busy...they are all so cute...
A baby sits tranced reaching a candy tootsie...
Thank you for all the information. I have this bear in my mind and I can't wait to get her made. I want to hurry and get these three babies finished so I can get to my bear. Anyone here knit? I want a knitted set for her!
As cute as he is I don't think I would rush over and pet him on the head!
Would you be able to feel them in a huggable bear?
I can not imagine needle felting those...they are beautiful! I root my babies with a very very thin felting needle and it takes me forever to get one done. How long does it take you to do a bear? Must be several forevers!!!
