Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Dear Marie,
I feel for you and send lots of bear hugs your way.  I lost my Mum just 12 months ago and it is a terrible loss to come to terms with.  It does get a little easier each day.

Danni, I am also a fan of Troy Casser-Daley.  Last year when we were travelling with the caravan we were at Rockhampton and Troy was singing at the Leagues Club.  We went and he was great as it was just him and his guitar.  After the show he signed our C.D. and had a chat.  Can't do that sort of thing with many artists these days.

Same thing happened with Normie Rowe.  I loved him as a 15 year old and he was at the Whale Festival at Hervey Bay.  As he is a Vietnam Veteran and so is hubby we got to have a chat and some pics taken.  Funny thing was his beard was as grey as my hair......time does get away.....not 15 anymore...

I manage to re-visit my dreams when it is something scary, maybe getting bitten by a snake or a spider but when the dream involves perhaps a spunky male. its frustrating because I can't go back to part of the dream that made me wake up....

To answer Claire on her swap bears, I can say for sure that your bears are terrific Claire. As I was Claires swap partner recently I absolutely adore the bear I received. 
Are there any swaps happening here in the future as I would be very interested.  I am involved in a Chrissy swap at the moment and would love to join another.

Please don't hold coming from Australia against me,  it wasn't me.....

Well, am back home after seeing Dwight Yoakam, wow, fantastic excellant and all other words to describe something that was such a great experiance.  He sang for 2 hours and 45 minutes relatively non-stop.  Some one counted the songs he sang and ended up with 54.

The only critisism I would have is "THAT HAT" beautiful hat but it hid his face.  Used the binoculars and only saw his eyes maybe 4 times.
But still it was a concert well worth seeing.

Now had better get back to the bear making...

Sorry to hear of your troubled news, my husband is a Vietnam Veteran and so agent orange is always in our thoughts because of behaviour problems and health troubles.

Yep, love all that stuff.  Did you see the movie on Johnny Cash, we saw it 3 times.

My hubby is obsessed with Neil Young.  We were going to Melbourne for a week-end away and we ended up at a movie house to see Neil Youngs latest film, being of his latest c.d.

Wasn't that romantic........not for me but did I enjoy the film.....

Paula, once again a beautiful bear.  I agree with all before me the colours and shadings you have done are inspiring to all and I hope you have a great time at the upcoming show.   I would definately like to be there but alas the air fares would leave me no $$$$$ for bears....

Thanks Paula, our local craft shop only had the brown prismas, do you think an office supply shop would have them?  Or do you think if I got artists paint and sponged it on the bear it would work.  A little on a sponge and wiping it nearly dry before I highlight the bear?

Who likes Country music.  Last week the Dixie Chicks were in Melbourne Australia and we went to their concert.  All I can say was they were fantastic and they sounded just like their c.d's.and they looked gorgous..

Tomorrow night we are going to see Dwight Yoakam... we have a couple of tapes of his concerts he did quite a few years ago but are looking forward to see him in the flesh..

Has anyone else seen these artists in concert?

Thanks Wendy, love your name as it is the same as my sister-in-laws, she was a terrific person but unfortunately is not with us anymore. I miss her a lot as does my brother..

I love Icicle he is a beautiful  bear,Paula.    The blue shadings look great.  What do you use for the shading.  I have only got a black and brown pen for shading but would like to have a go at different colours..

Bear hugs from me too.  Would finding something to distract your thoughts help.
Have a clean out of the wardrobe and then go shopping to replace what you have thrown out.

Shopping helps me sometimes....

What an adorable Grizzly.

When I saw the thread I thought oh my gosh, I have just finished a grizzly and am waiting for the sun to come out so I can take a piccie.

Krista, congratulations.  Emma is gorgous.   Hope she is not eyeing of those shoes to chew.  Leopold is such a good boy, it looks like they will be great companions....

Danni, that is so awful, it just goes to show what sort of people we are dealing with, when they will hack into a teddy bear site....

I generally use a brown velvet back drop but when the bears are dark I use a length of cream linen.
This is a picture I took of oscar with the cream linen behind him. The material is actually pegged to my curtains with clothes pegs on a north facing window for the light..

Krista, I know what you mean, we are retired and HE is home all the time,after having the house to myself for 30 odd years it was a bit strange having him home all the time messing up my kitchen.....

I made a pumpkin awhile ago. All I did was cut out 2 circles, joined them and then filled it with stuffing.I then  took a needle and from the top of the circle carried a thread to the bottom of the circle on the outside and up through the bottom to the top again. I kept going around the circle making segments as I went.

Kathleen they are terrific. I haven't made a dog yet must have a go.  But first I have to go and pull the weeds out of the garden,,,,darn..

My light tent is a north facing window, I peg a dark cloth to the curtains.  Not very high teck but it works for me...

Kimberly is just the cutest little squirrel, love him..
