Oh Debbie, you sure had and still have a hard time!
Poor baby; I guess, everybody who read this story about this lovely dog at least had tears in the eyes....... and I think it was brave what you did, taking him home even though you are suffering fom pain yourself so badly!!!
As for your precious little collection of kidney stones: here they do treat them with shock waves. Means: they destroy them by bombarding them and they go off with the urin.
I have this shock wave therapie happening to my shoulder next week because of calcifications, after I had it done in december alreadyand it was ( at least on the shoulder) completely painless.
2 peopla I know told me, that it did work with their kidney stones; well, it didn´t work with my shoulder in december. I guess the doctor was not aiming correctly
I also heard about an alternate therapie with ( if I just translate it from german) "lightwaters". Water from healing wells is use for this and in case of kidney stones I could even imagine this to work.
In any case: I wish you well and that you get rid of them buggers!
Gaby
Kim, you´re such a lovely person!
I actually think too, that we got a bit too sentimental. I guess the full moon a few days ago had a high impact on my mood this time.
Teddy said, he´d love to watch what´s going on,now that he is "freed" fom the cupboard, where I had put him to conserve him.
He even said, he wants to take Salsa lessons. Gosh, I think he´s really goint to take on the world
And yes, "The Little Prince" is a wonderful book; not only for kiddies but also for grown ups.
Kim-Bee, you make such lovely bears, why don´t ou make a Lolly-doll yourself? I bet you can do that! ...and please: show us the outcome!!
Gaby
Diane,
well, I know our world is far from good, and will probably never be, even if everybody is the change he wants to see in the world.
To think your idea, that ALL people creating teddies do have a better understanding for the big brothers in nature or captivity, is simply untrue. But: you are completely right: a specialised journal should actually be more selective in what they show the public.
Maybe Dee does not know, how bears are brought to what we call "dancing" . A big bear does not simply start lifting his legs and jump around because he gets gooddies for that.
So maybe we should not be too harsh on Dee, she might not know that most chimpanzees´ teeth are pulled in captivity because they are simply wild animals that act wild and are actually ( even though they have such cute expressions) very aggessive and snappish.
This is not her fault not to know, what tortures animals in a circus have to go through, the more I think that journals like Teddy Bear & friends have the duty to pick up the matter and report over these situations. I bet a lot of people have no clue about this. Or should teddybear journals just show us an ideal world?
And I perfectly well understand your anger about this journal´s ignorance. ( Yes,that´s what it is).
Gaby
Diane,
well, I know THIS kind of scone I was just confused. As so often, because in everyday´s english or american or even australian there are so many words used, that I either don´t know the meaning of, or know as something else
.
So I hope, that I don´t wreck anybody´s nerves when I keep asking.
Thanx for enlighten me!
Gaby
I didn´t know anything about a birthday....but let me join in to wish HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many more happy years
I would like to add, that this crowd of teddyphiles is a most lovely one! I used to be admin in a cat forum, where fighting, sueing, complaining badmouthing was on the agenda nearly every day.
You folks are never envyous and I think it is great how much help is provided if one has a question. Help and support.
The cameradery is so very well developed, and I am happy to have found y´all!
This TT can only work so well, because you are all so lovely people.
Gaby
Diane, what a cute picture of so very cute bears!
Since my scotish is limited to a few words I heard from Billy Connolly, may I ask you what SCONE means? I always thought it´s something you have in the morning, but I bet, these are not edible
And sorry, I have no customer pix, since I have no customers
Have a smashing easter weekend!
Gaby
Kim, I wanted to use the word " gorgeous" but it´s stressed in nearly every post
*speechlessly hitting her jaw on the table*
Gaby
Jeannie, a real cute couple! The cinnamon baby looks more experienced, really sweet, but the white one has such an innocent character, must be a real lazzzzy smoocher
Gaby
The silly bear is not so silly! She´s rather very clever!!!...and has adorable chickins!
Gaby
I had a good laugh this morning reading these posts!
I could bearly see the screen and Tracey had come upt with this idea, obviousely pondering, 2 seconds later KimBee has already finishe 2 of them *giggle*
Sandra, animes are japanese cartoons, and I think Tracey is talking about these cute little fellows with their real big heads where I always wonder, how these little buggers don´t fall over all the time.
I might try creating one after coming home from hospital, even though I´m not sure yet about what it should look like...
Gaby
Kim, what you edited in your post, sounds so really nice and you must be somebody who understands teddy souls and children souls perfectly well. No wonder you create such most lovely babies and fairies and teddie!
Anne, my mom and I, we collect everything, we would never get rid of any of our memories, which of course has the disadvantage, that we have more memories than space
Patsy& Rita, children then of course had different priorities, that´s true. My mom had one doll and one french teddy, who is in better shape than mine, even though he´s in his 60. The doll was destoyed by a russian occupant, so she held on to her teddy desperately.
Patsy, I hope you can show us a picture of your first hubbies teddy
Kim Bee, your Lolly looks so cuddely cute!!
Dilu, thank you for your advise. You sound completely logical to me, but I have to admit, Kim really gave me food for thought. Why do I always have to do everything so complicated?
My mom really was devastate when we got him fom the dry cleaner! She had chosen this pretty bear for me. He will get his spiffy ribbon soon, but I´m not so sure about the eyes.
Paula, you must have been a real good girl; your teddy is in such a good shape! Still fluffy and nice
Gaby
Duff,
relax! It´s easter
But I bet you´ve got loads to do still...
You might be right about the cowboys in FL, but I didn´t even see any there *giggle* I think, they are a spoof! They don´t exist
Wien, or Vienna as it is called in English, is the capital of Austria, a tiny country in the heart of Europe. We only have abt. 8 Mio inhabitants and an increasing number of teddy bears.
If you find the time to sneek a peek : http://info.wien.at/article.asp?IDArticle=9010
I even downloaded Google Earth, as suggested in this homepage to have a view over Wien, and guess what: I even foud my house in the outskirts of Vienna. I even see my car parked in front of my house!!!! THIS IS FRIGGIN SCARY!!!!!
A completely flabbergasted Gaby
Aleta,
you poor thing you!
Of course you could be allergic to choccolate or any of the ingrediens; you should have that checked out and then you can have your allergy removed. But it could also be, that you´re allergic to the wrapping, which, in many cases is made fom alluminum and many people are allergic to that. ( I know, you´re going to tell me, that you´re not eating the wrapping, but your food gets in touch with it.)
I sure hope, whatever it is, it goes away soon!
Gaby
Kim, thanks for your advise  . You gave me food for thought...maybe I want to change my teddy, because I am not pleased with myself - I´m off to beddy byes now pondering
...and I´m looking forward to see your childhood teddy!!
Amanda, thank you for posting not only your teddy, but also you! It is so nice to see, what people looked like when they were innocent and harmless and had free entrance to the zoo.
Gaby
Once upon a time
... my first teddy bear ever was presented to me on my 1st birthday.
This was....uhmmm...nearly 44 years ago.
These past 44 years have left me and my teddy with some scars and wrinkles and grey hair.
I´m an avid supporter of the cosmetic industry, so I´m just fine. Nearly
But what about my belove teddy?
I had him hidden in a cupboard, wrapped in silky paper and draped with lavender, so the moths wouldn´t get hold of him.
Last week I dug him out and he looks so pittiful.
He used to be bright white, fluffy with shiny eyes until that fatal day many years ago, when teddy desidet to have a taste of my apricot jam. Of course, soft- heartet as I am I gave him a loving spoonful.
Well, teddies should never, under no circumstances have a spoonfull of jam!
My mom screeched, teddy and I were crying and all together we went to the dry cleaner to have him cleaned.
Unfortunately, his fluffy white fur turned into something sort of greyish, tangled, scruffy as you can see on the pix, and his eyes ( they were probably made of plastic) look ...well....sort of dead.
What do you ladies think, should I replace his eyes? It doesn´t bother me, that his hands are so battered, since he doesn´t mind; but what should I do about his eyes?
By the way: now that you know my child hood teddy, may I see yours, pleazzzzze?
Gaby
Duff,
I´ve only been to Fort Worth for about a week, but I know a few people all over the US.
Lemme tell you something: if everything else fails- Texans are probably the nicest people with the biggest hearts. Or maybe they have two
I wish you good luck in relocating!
Gaby
PS: in the whole week in Fort Forth I didn´t see one single cowboy -
Hi Penny-chick
thanx for the choccie eggies you wish us...since YOU pretended in a nother thread, NOT to like choccie, I wish you...hmmmm...I wish you an easter egg made by Tiffany...including the breakfast there
