Howdy pals and gals, please meet Charlie! He was a commission for a friend of the family who loves angels. He's made of a lovely brown mohair shot through with gold strands, black german glass eyes and ultrasuede pawpads in a beautiful chocolate colour. He was very hard to part with, his little face is just so sweet. Hope you enjoy!
jissy,
I have something called Neural Sarcoidosis, it affects the nervous system. I'm on medication to send it into remission, but it's slow going. One of these days I'll be back to almost normal, lol.
Thanks everyone! I'll be posting a bear or two within the next week or so, I'm super excited, woo hoo!
Hello everyone! It's been a darned difficult year for me. The symptoms of my disease reared their ugly heads again and put me out of bear making comission for a while. I must have a half dozen projects I'm trying to finish up. Being laid low is not fun, and makes life in general difficult. I'm slowly recovering financially as well, illness puts a strain on the budget, ugh. Anywho, you'll be seeing some new bears from me hopefully shortly, yay! Hope the rest of you are having a wonderful new year, I've got my fingers crossed this is a better one for me!
Cheers!
Still being made, I hadn't gotten any of them finished. I did complain, but that got me nowhere. Something about them not being liable or some such junk.
Howdy pals and gals! Not many of you know that I moved last week. I purchased a lovely little condominium and now have a not-so-lovely mortgage to go with, lol. The move went ok, with just a few bumps and hitches. The bad news is that a lot of boxes (about 3 or 4) of my bear and craft stuff didn't make the move. I have a funny feeling that the movers accidentally put them in with the boxes of things to go to charity. One of the boxes contained my unfinished bear projects....including the almost completed swap bear for my partner. I can't tell you how upset I was. I'd also had about 5 other bears in that box, in different states of completion too. I also lost a lot of my synthetic fur and some mohair too, but not as much. I can't help but think, why couldn't they have lost my box full of bills instead?!
Ugh, suffered a setback for my bear in the form of a Canada Post mail strike . FINALLY got the material in for my bear. Luckily the little guy Tracey wants doesn't take much time to sew up. Working on it already, hopefully between that, my move and my health I should have the bear done by end of July. Haven't heard from Tracey in a while, assuming she's busy with the online teddy show.?
Well, I got as far as actually dyeing my mohair....aaaaaaand then I ended up in the hospital I just got released this weekend, so it's doubtful I'll be able to make the deadline. I'll still finish and post, but it'll be later on this month. On a positive note, I'm on a new treatment that seems to be working very well.
My eyes aren't completely healed yet, but I'm seeing loads better than I was even a month ago. Wish me luck finishing my project, I'll take pictures of the mohair I died when it's a little sunnier out and post them.

Awwww, best friends!
"Janet, I'll need a skinny mocha latté and the Johnston file, asap"
July is perfect! I'm definitely in!
Hmmm, may have come upon this challenge too late, but I'll give it a whirl I've always wanted to try and dye my own mohair, something really really funky looking, like tie dye or batik. If I can get the mohair in time, I'll be up for the challenge
Count me in!
I'm in!
Disco Joints and Teddies here in Ontario are wonderful for bear supplies. They don't have a huge stock of mohair like Intercal, but they've got plenty of other things. Also, Edinburgh Imports are smashing as well! Hope this helps!
Hello all! This is Claudia, my newest bear. She's just under 10" tall and made from a brilliant white, sparse matted mohair. She's on bearpile now if you want more photos and info. Thanks for looking!
