I am there, it is going to be a flying in and flying out experience. I am trying a new range of smaller bears, getting older and carrying heavy suitcases is not that easy. With smaller suitcases I can manage the public transport saving on cab fees.

Want to bet !!!

I am working on these to take with to London in February. We do have our 3rd grandchild due 4th March, and I am hoping he will stick to this date, as otherwise I am going to be caught between going and staying .
These bears measure 4-6", are fully jointed and have stainless steel pellets in their tummies for extra weight.
I also treated myself to a new camera, so will have to learn all the new things and refer back to notes when I took the photography course at EZ Bear University.
I have also had others that do the rounds, I wonder why they play up with being religious and always have sick family members.
Now they seem to be spending time on your website as they can relate to what you sell. Interestingly she mentions me making a bear that won a place in the 2008TBOC Challenge I was involved in and would like that bear. Only thing is that I was an organizer and did not make that bear. So they seem to be targeting bear artist sites.

Today I received a very long email, which at first I was going to delete. Then decided to read it.
It is a Rev Kathy Howard, who is asking for a 16" jointed teddy bear in exchange for antique laces and other treasures that she has from her grandmother.
She is half blind, the nephew has a health problem bla bla bla,. She lives in
AURORA, COLORADO, and gives a telephone number. I think I am going to call the number as I am quissy. Anyone else perhaps had the same email

Will check up. She was an exhibitor at the show in November. YZ should have her details.
My bear is different than the pattern, but it gives you an idea. I used more wool than was supplied in the kit.

Hi Sandra
Thank you for going that extra mile for the bear world and its time for ALL to do their bit. So easy to sit back and complain but not do anything about it.
I am wanting to take an advert out in your magazine as I think more teddy bear "people" in South Africa are purchasing and reading this magazine, although more expensive than our so called local Stitches and Bear magazine which is focused more on the craft maker.
Of course our rate of exchange, as those buying from Lou Bear is in your favor, so spending internationally is more expensive for us sitting here in SA.
Wishing you, the magazine, an exciting 2009.
Lynette
Thanks. This was a kit I bought in Taiwan, used the basic idea but made it my own.
thanks Sarah, see I do make bears and not play in FaceBook all the time
Lynette
Thanks all.

Wishing each and every one an interesting 2009 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One thing about buying LouBear mohair is that you overseas guys have the exchange rate in your favor. So stock up now.
Bernhard Kossman from Lou Bear will only be to pleased to help you with any queries etc

Thanks, for the comments. Its all thanks to Judi for getting me started with needle felting and her course I did with the EZ Bear university.
I find that it soothes my nerves, injures my fingers, but gives me so much pleasure.

Just finished this Aime Bear. Took hours and hours of needle felting and lots of stabbing of my fingers when the TV became interesting.
She measures about 8", and nice and heavy as I inserted stainless steel pellets into the body. The flower and jumper I also made.
Looks like I must ask my daughter in law for some horse hair- mm hubby is allergic to horses, maybe I can be mean and evil and he will wonder why he is sneezing all the time
ohhhh I off to enjoy the rest of the evening with my new partner

Anyone wanting to make a light box might find this site interesting.

Have not seen any here in SA, but they are very appealing. Thanks for sharing.

It depends where you are flying from and where you going to. Sometimes it even depends on what a grumpy day the air staff are having.
Since they have stepped up security, I am unable to do any flight with a pair of scissors or any sharp metal item. I have taken on board bamboo knitting needles and I have been able to knit. My last trip flying out of Heathrow, they confiscated the one pair of bamboo knitting needles, but left the circular pair ones- so not sure how you explain that.
When hubby did Iron Man Champs in USA, the lock on his cycle bag was broken. Inside was a note saying that for future flights to the USA, he can get a special lock, which customs have a key to. This will prevent them breaking the lock, however hubby is not sure if he likes that idea.
You could perhaps contact the airport you are flying from and check up on their rules.

Jenn,
Yes this is what I was told by the nuns who ran the maternity home I was in, how lucky I was. My daughter had she lived could have had many problems, who can tell.Today so much can be done for prem babies and they are tough little fighters.
Jenn, I often remember some of your comments in TT when you were carrying your little one, they always made me giggle. What an adorable chappy he is.
Sarah, I am reporting you to the teddy bear association, how can you make him wear a jersey when he already has so much fur and we all know that the poor thing is already hot living in Australia.
