Well I think they are lovely - and such a lovely gift for the granddaughters.
You should be very pleased with yourself as you have done a fantastic job and you have even managed to get them looking so identical (which is a feat in itself). Well done!!
Hmmmm sheep - now that is an idea......tap into that tourist market
He is a cutie and such a happy bear - he makes me smile each time I look at him
Totally gorgeous and oh so huggable!!
Going by all your other creations I know he will turn out absolutely gorgeous.
Can't wait to see him finished....so enough of those catnaps Penny off you go back to work!!
This is my latest needle felted critter Tilby the globetrotter. Tilby is an order from my boss after he saw my bear on a bauble. I'm very pleased with him although I think next time I make a cat I'll stick to him sitting on a ball, or a ball of yarn, as a globe freehand was not the easiest.
Sorry the photo is not 100% but I only finished him last night and he has to go to his new home today and the weather at the moment it not photo weather.
Merry Christmas
Mel
When good bears go even 'Gooder'....What a transformation a lovely bear to begin with and now lovely beyond words
100% gorgeous! Love him!
Thanks for all your lovely comments I am really enjoy the needlefelting. I'm currently making a cat on a globe so that should be very interesting!!

He's gorgeous and what a neat idea to use mohair for the tree.
He looks pretty pleased with what santa has left him.
I really like him, and the colours are lovely together. Reminds me a little bit of a womble....showing my age there!
Santa in his red suit is still big here in NZ...although more and more Xmas cards are showing him in board shorts and singlet Christmas lunches are also becoming less and less traditional with the BBQ very popular.
Don't forget to show us piccies when you are finished.
He is lovely Judi and an exact copy of the original......like two peas in a pod - well done!! I have always found that making a replica takes twice as long as the original.
Hi Sandi
How about using a coloured pencil of a similar colour to shade the edges of the nose to hide/blend the imperfections.....you could then use the same colour around the paw pads, eyes, ears etc if you wanted.
Mel
the question is too much of what kind of Christmas spirit??
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2006.
Mel
Well done Melissa, you so deserve it after all your hard work.
Make sure you bring him at Xmas so I can see him in the fur.....oh and you should definately keep him as he obviously came back home for that reason.
Mel
Absolutely lovely Anne.....as he is a panda what about Dumpling or Wonton.
Mel
Thank you, you are all so sweet
Melissa the panda is new, it is made from the alpaca you brought back from Aussie for me, so I have you to thank for that one - thank you very much
Hi Guys
Thought it was about time I braved it and posted some photos of my bears.
Sorry the quality isn't great but photography is not my forte...and in hindsight I really should have ironed that calico drop cloth
The wee bee bear is needlefelted as is "Fatso's" honey pot, honey splotches and the bee on his foot.
Mel
Awww you are sweet - now I just have to stop spending money and save that airfare
So who invented ANZAC biscuits and lamingtons anyway...the Aussies or the kiwis???? it is that old Pavlova debate all over again!!......although on saying that I think lamingtons are Aussie
Daphne I'm friends with Melissa can I come too????
Mel
Before I bought the colour coded needles I use to paint the tops of my needles with nail polish....luckily my tastes in nail polish colours has varied over the years...blue, purple - those small pots of enamel paint for modeling also works.
Mel
Excuse me why I pick my jaw up off the floor....WOW!! absolutely amazing!!
