There is another way to find the create your own 'About Me' page........
When you go to any auction and the seller has an 'About Me' page, just click on the logo to visit it and at the bottom of their page is the option to create your own page. At least there is on eBay.co.uk

You only need to have pics/images at 72 ppi for use on the www Denise, no need for a larger size. They load quicker too.

Resize advice? I would need to know what software you use to resize your pics.

Noooooo!  bear_cry  Oh what a shame Jenny. This flu thing that has been going around over here is just awful is'nt it? I had it last month and i am still getting over it. We need some prolonged cold weather to kill off all these nasty bugs.

I'm glad to hear that you have been offered another table in September Jenny - maybe i'll come and see you and the bears!

Penny,
Actually, the Hemingway cats have fared better than Hemingway, himself  bear_laugh  Their descendants are cared for and live on in the Hemingway Estate in Key West, Florida. They are famous for having 6 or more toes. I have always found Siamese cats interesting, not just for their personalities but because I was able to swing a trip to Thailand(Siam) and Siamese cats are alley cats there! Most have no owners but are fed by Buddhist monks at their temples. At these temples you can see so many variations of the Siamese who are, really, feral cats?!
Karen

Ahh, i see. Not That Hemingway.  doh!
Six toes - how delightful. How do they play "This Little Piggy Went to Market"? Perhaps they add "...and this Little Piggy went to Honolulu"?
bear_tongue

Siamese are alley cats? Blimey - here i am thinking up ways to get the cash together to buy one when i can just go to Thailand and pick one up for free (probably be cheaper to pay for the flights and accomodation than to buy one here in the UK). Have to smuggle the little beast back into the country though?!?!

I used to have an Egyptian Mau - he was wonderful, the best cat anyone ever had, he had the mark of the Scarab Beetle on his head and his fur was tinged lilac. His name was Gizzy Woo. He was a Star.
We did'nt buy him, he came from some friends of ours who had pots of money but no time to look after a cat (a bit of a status symbol i think so that's why they bought him) so they gave him to us. I would love another Egyptian Mau.

I love cats - did you guess?  bear_whistle

Oh my Penny....I've heard of Hemingway cats but not a Marty Feldman cat!

Oh Goodnes Gracious me Kim - what a simply enchanting idea! Marty Feldman was just soooo funny. You gotta name the cat Marty and i want to buy it!!!

I don't know what a Hemingway cat is............does it get smashed a lot and spend a lot of time travelling round bars? Obviously a womaniser too or would that be a 'queenyiser' ? bear_wacko

Well, i make dolls but i guess your Mom would have a fit if you bought her one of mine as they are a bit flakey and odd. But here's a couple of pics anyway. Dear Old Erasmus he's such a hunk and now residing with our very own Kim in the US of A.

Hi Christine,
I would state quite categorically in my auction that i do not agree with the new hidden bidding and that if anyone wishes to bid on my item as far as i am concerned there is nothing to hide and that all bidders ID's/bids could be obtained from me once the auction is over and they had bid.  Obviously if they were'nt happy with this they simply would'nt bid. I wonder how it would go down with punters?

I'll try it the next time i list something and see what happens. I can't see why i need anyones permission if they all took part in the bidding - surely not? And if the auction has finished what does it matter.

You know, i just can't get my head around this new ruling from eBay. What a bloody waste of time and what a pain in the butt.  We could all be bidding on each others bears -

HEY WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!!! Lets all get together - set up a consortium and all bid on each others bears!!!!
YAY! We could all be living it up in Barbados by next Xmas. I baggsy the yacht and lithe limbed limbo dancer.

This just a joke - don't nobody get outta their tree please (tippy toes here)

Penny

Oh i forgot to say.........someone had a great idea about adding a note to their auction about offering to send their bidders a copy of the the other bidders names? What a great idea! That's the way to go is'nt it?

And, i forgot to say - dammit, i've forgotten it again. I'll have to come back later when the old brain box has been rebooted.

Penny - middle age ain't all fun y'know bear_wacko

gotobedbears

of course the slit pupils are perfectly centered

You know Kim, i have been toying with making an oriental cat (did we once discuss this before - i think we did a while back) and keep remembering a siamese cat that belonged to an old lady i knew when i was growing up. This cat had the wonkiest eyes i have ever seen in my life - it was a miracle that it could walk in straight line let alone leap around. One eye went left and the other went any which way ha ha ha

Beautiful blue eyes though - just wonky as billy-oh.

I might make an oriental one like that, be fun to see if it sells won't it?

hmmm what could i name it? Won Kee Woo

I make bears and collect them so here's my take on the whole kerfuffle....

Well, personally i HATE the new hidden bidders thing on eBay and have'nt bought a bear  from eBay since it was introduced.

I never used to bid on Private Auctions as i always felt uncomfortable bidding when i could'nt check to see if there was any shill bidding going on. Not that i'm saying every private auction was dishonest cos i'm not - it's just my personal preference to know who's doing what and when and with who.

I don't know how other collectors feel about it but i am very doubtful that i would bid on a bear now unless the artist is someone i have bought from before or had watched their auctions before the change came in and felt that they were trustworthy.

I have'nt sold on eBay since the change came either - i always promised myself that i would never use private auctions and now i am, in effect, being forced into doing it. Which is a shame because my cats were doing really well and know i won't be able to use eBay to sell them.
Yes, i know there are other auction sites and i do have my website but, i don't care what you say, eBay reaches the largest audience and if you are struggling to make a name for yourself and your bears it is the perfect marketplace for doing this.

I think shill bidders should be dragged from their beds at dawn - have their backsides kicked and their foreheads tattooed with " I am a dirty rotten cheat" before making them clean out the nearest public toilets........with their tongues..................but then again i'm just a peacenik.
