they are so sweet. beautiful! best of luck with them!
Teresa, wow, you're coming from far away.
well, i am from the west coast originally...so i am making a trip to see my dad first, then heading up to nevada city...
i used the 'snail method' first, but got frustrated with not being able to get them tight enough especially since my bears are small (trying to that method in such a tiny space was really hard). i saw the 'crown method' in a book i got and i love doing it that way! i can get the cotterpin nice & tight that way!
My dressed girls go commando. I figure, if Donald Duck can go pantsless, so can my critters :D
hee hee! my bears are bare bottomed too...i actually never thought about making undies!
those were great!! thanks!!
getting ready! i am totally nervous...i hope i can finish them all in time! plus i am doing Daphne's show in new bedford, nh when i get back! in fact, i shouldn't even be on here...i better get back to sewing!
oh, i hope you can heal up and get all that work done....i wanted to meet you in person at nevada city and see your bears in person! but you gotta do what you gotta do...plus, you must be insanely swamped with the boyd bears thing, which is sooooo awesome may i say!
I'm buried in prototype development for Boyds and show prep for Nevada City (which I may end up cancelling.)

I did register for PayPal for an auction that required it. I had no problem. I've only purchased a few times and so my PayPal account became dormant. But I kept getting this e-mails from PayPal saying to got to a site to update my information because someone had been detected trying to use my account. I never did, of course, but I sent each e-mail to PayPal and they responded that the e-mail didn't come from them. I still occasionally get those kinds of messages. So that makes me reluctant to use PayPal.
Also, I get e-mails from e-Bay, at least they say they are, telling me a buyer has not received my auction but I've collected money for it and they are going to sue me and turn me in to the FBI. I've never sold anything on e-Bay. I forward these to e-Bay and they tell me it didn't come from them. I only used e-Bay about four times and it concerns me that with just that little exposure, people have gotten my information.
that is spam/phishing. i get that all the time on all my e-mails, even the ones that i never associated with an ebay or paypal account. don't ever respond or click on any links listed, and forward to the e-mails to the appropriate addresses for ebay & paypal so they can try & shut down the spammer.
here is paypal's info on spam/phishing, and this is the e-mail to forward the spam message to: spoof@paypal.com.
for ebay there is a way to submit info, start here: http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/?s … ome:f:f:US
i only use paypal for processing all online payments. it is easier for the customer, and easier for me too. i think once they made it so someone paying can pay via paypal or their own credit card (without a paypal account) it has made people less nervous, and people can even pay by check online! they have really expanded, and for the most part i am very happy using them, and had no problems.
i made this tiny bear today. fits in the palm of my hand! i sure hope i can find him a new home at one of the shows coming up...
hee hee! sometimes i feel like i am taking breaks from the computer to sew instead of the other way around!! that is a very cute & in my case, also very true poem!
as i am getting ready for my first ever teddy shows, i thought i would share some of the little bears being born...
the top one is 9", and the bottom is 8". making a teeny tiny pleated skirt is a lot harder than i thought it would be! i am having so much fun designing the outfits! dressing bears is one of my favorite parts. that and making their faces look 'just so'.
i just booked the Outside inn too!! i am so excited & scared about doing this show...eep! any advice from others who have done it for newbies? how many bears should i have to take?? i hope i get to hang out with you when we are all there...
when i have sent out my bears, i usually get one of those photo boxes from micheals, (they are usually archival) and fill with tissue and then put the bear in a clear plastic bag along with a card that states the bear's name, where it was born, and when. then i close the box, and tie with a pretty ribbon. then i pack it up in another regular cardboard box. it seems pretty fancy i guess...
i posted about this bear in my blog, and she sold before i knew it! i wasn't even trying to sell her yet...but i wanted to share her with you guys. it was my first successful attempt at making a dress with a collar & sleeves.
i have tried both, and really like the locknuts. i like having the control over the tightness, since i prefer to get my bears to stand on their own if possible. i am intrigued by sandi's decription of how to handle the head, because i have been doing locknuts on the arms & legs, but still cotterpinning the head...i will have to try the superglue method next time!
i am so glad you asked this question, i learned something new! yay!
oo! thanks kelly! i am going to apply...i hope i get in!
oh tracy!! i am so sorry!
when my kitty went in for surgery to remove a tumor on his back i was on pins and needles all day, and it broke my heart to see him all wobbly when i brought him home since the knock-out medicine was still in his system...i totally empathize!!
did the vet try a blood panel?
here are some good thoughts and hugs for her ((((get better little midget!))))
hearts, teresa
eee! look at that adorable toothy! awesome job tracy!!
some people just have too much time on their hands, and feel that the internet allows them the freedom to bash others because they feel like it is somewhat anonoymous. which is totally unfair. and i have had situations like this one happen to me too. as upsetting as it is, just leave it be now that you have responded. people like that feed off the negativity generated by their attacks. you certainly did nothing wrong, and morris is totally adorable by the way.
hugs!! teresa
oh sabine! your mouse is soooo wonderful!
and wendy, i think the challenge will be on for a while yet. so please make a mousey! i want to see what you make!
teresa
I have not done the Winter Wonderland one as I haven't ventured to NJ for a show
it says on that site that the winter wonderland show is in boston...maybe it is a show that changes locations?
i will call the maven company one, ooo, this is so exciting! maybe i will see you at one of these shows!
oh daphne, i am sorry it is so much worse up there...down here some of our inland rivers are reaching flood stages, but nothing as bad as more your way...i am ready for the rain to end! i am starting to think the sun doesn't exist anymore...
stay dry! teresa
wow thank you Daphne! those are great. i was looking over some of them, and i saw that the Maven Company one says by invite only...should i call them and ask? and, have you ever done the 'Winter Wonderland' one in Boston? It looked promising...i really want to try a show, and i think i can make enough stock for a fall or winter one...
thank you sooo much!! - teresa
