Okay gals,
Gotta go, had a busy day and more to do tomorrow ...had fun and enjoyed the fuzzy slipper night, I'm a wuss when it comes to staying up late. Just can't do 'er.
Hugs,
Wanda
Looks like an English Muffin to me
Oh my .... not a pretty picture. Keep your chin up, this too shall pass. How many gals come to your meeting?
Maple Syrup warmed in the microwave with butter stirred in it ...spread on toast, yummy
Daphne,
Feelin Better??? .... Perhaps the teddy meeting tomorrow will lift your spirits if you get through the night getting ready for it.
Eewww .... how many days was that gum on the car?
Daphne is probably drawing white chalk marks around little teddy bodies
A real carved pumpkin on her head? Stinky!!
Yeah, and you an imagine how her hair looked when she took it off!! Didn't bother her one bit ...of course she won the prize for best costume.
BAck in my younger days, my friend and I went to a riding club Halloween party. This girl was unbelievable. She carved out a pumpkin and put it on her head!!! ...wore orange clothes with a green leaf scarf. No one knew who she was. I don't know how she stood the pumpkin on her head!!!
Chrissi,
Better save those boxes ...I saw an old box that displayed candy bars in the 40's , 50's and it was bringing big bucks on E=Bay.
On the subject of Halloween, I try to dress up each Halloween for work ...I'm the only one that does it and haven't been fired yet.
Last year I made the red Poodle skirt, black cinch belt, white bouse, red scarf, bobbie socks and black flats ...also got the Cat Eye glasses, pulled my hair back for a pony tail look. They all loved it.
Hi All, Wasn't sure when this thing started ....just got out of the shower and popped on to see what was happening.

Daphne,
Dear Heart, you did nothing to cause these phone calls. I think she is just calling anyone and everyone for pictures. It was just my turn and no fault of yours.
I once had a lady collector who would call me on Friday's and she would be "three sheets to the wind" drunk. She had purchased a bear from me and felt that she had the right to call and "chit chat" while on a drinking spree. I finally just let the answering machine get the calls and she got the message.
I felt sorry for her and did listen a couple of times, but when she would start in with her "truck driver" language, I felt I did not have to subject myself to her calls anymore. I won't let people abuse me like that.
So do not fret that you were the cause of this, you were not. The lady is just making her rounds.
Hugs,
Wanda
Well, I guess I'm the newest member of the club. A lady left a message on my answering machine late this afternoon. She did not give me her name, but gave me her birthday (3-10-64), was very hard to understand, not talking in complete sentences, wanted pictures of my bears, info on layaway, something about Christmas card, and I could not quite understand her mailing address, but it was Illinois.
I'm almost sure this is the same lady, Bless her Heart. I feel sorry for her, but like you all, am a bit skeptical about sending anything. She seemed pleasant, course she was talking to the machine and rambled on and on for a couple of minutes.
I think I'll just let the machine get any unfamiliar calls and if by chance I do talk with her, I'll just tell her I could not understand her address, which is true. I have sent pictures out before and never gotten any return, but I don't want to encourage a "stalker" either.
When I listened to the message and it went on and on, I remembered the posts on here about the mysterious photo collector. So glad this topic was posted so I was forewarned.
Hugs,
Wanda
Dearest Daphne,
So sorry to hear this year hasn't gotten any better for you. Trust in God, it will get better. I think everyone has offered excellent suggestions to help you through the rough time. Just remember to be kind to yourself by whatever means and that you are loved.
I just had to post something to repay you for your kindness when my world was turning upside down. Thankfully, my situation has gotten much better and with the Grace of God we are on the road to recovery. I know it will not be smooth sailing, but I have the Faith that everything will be okay. Just knowing that someone else sincerely cares about you makes a big difference, and you made that difference with your messages to me.
You are in my prayers.
Hugs,
Wanda
Shelli,
I can relate to your frustration with HTML ... I bought a book "Learn HTML 4 in a Weekend" ...got through the Friday stuff and started Saturday, but ran out of time to complete. If I can stick to it, I might be able to use HTML to "tweak" my website.
Oh well, just another project to table for future learning. Good luck, I know you will accomplish your task at hand.
Hugs,
Wanda
Shelli,
I was so hoping our Winney was not the person we received the sad news about. .... I remember when the forum first started she always had a good answer to any and all questions regarding sewing and making bears. She had a wealth of information and experience. She will truly be missed by all here, especially those who have benefited from her generous sharing of information and experiences.
Let us know what we can do.
Hugs,
Wanda
Ranea,
Oh aren't the chicks cute!
Yes, your hen looks a lot like the BB Reds I have. I just can't believe how tame they are. When I bought them and told my husband they were Old English Game fowl, he shook his head saying they would be wilder than March hares. I don't know if it's because I kept them confined as chicks or if it is their nature. I have talked with a few people who have them and they say theirs are just as tame too. No wonder I hear people raving about the Old English fowl. I'm with you, Ranea, I like the quiet, tame ones.
And Tracy, I can't eat any of my precious chickens ...I'll take the eggs, but not the birds. When I need to get rid of extra roosters, I take them to Burlington, IA to a Pigeon Club Swap Meet and usually sell them to other admirers. Not sure what part of Iowa you are in, but it is worth the drive to see all the different animals and wares that are sold at this meet. Everything from kittens to snakes (ick). We live an hour into Illinois across the river from Burlington, so we go quite often.
Hugs,
Wanda
Tracy,
My granddaughter just loves the chickens .... whenever she visits and we can't find her, go look in the chickenyard, there she is with the chickens. And the BB Reds love her too. Always at her feet and letting her hold them. Good, clean entertainment for an eight year old.
Hugs,
Wanda
Here are a few snapshots of the BB Reds. Isabella sits comfortably in the palm of my hand and keeps right on "talking" to me.
They literally eat out of my hand. And pictures of Mr. BoJangles.
Ranea,
I have a couple of the bantum Americana/Auracana chickens too. They are not quite as small as the regular bantums, but much smaller than the standard size of their breed. Their eggs are larger than bantum eggs.
I have had the feather legged breeds, but they attract the mites and get mudballs on their feet in wet weather. So I stay with the clean legged breeds.
I'll try to get some pics of Mr. BoJangles and his girls.
Hugs,
Wanda
Tracy,
You will love the Americana chickens. I have had a few for a couple of years and love them. Their eggs are large for the size of the hens and are blue/green in color. Some do not lay the blue/green eggs. I have one little hen that lays the brown/beige egg. They are reasonably quiet and not real excitable.
This spring I bought some BB Reds ...they are more of a very small game bird, but are the sweetest things. The hens look like little doves. The rooster is very colorful with red, green, black, purple, orange feathers. I feed them from my and and can pick them up anytime and they talk constantly even while holding them. My granddaughter just loves them and has a hen of her own ...Isabella. I named the little rooster "Mr. BoJangles" as he always dances for me when I turn them out in the run.
Silly as it sounds, I love my chickens and enjoy caring for them and just plain ole watching them scratch and take dust baths. Aaaaw .... something relaxing after a hectic day at work.

Ginger and Kelly,
Thank you for sharing your experiences at the TBAI show. I know I would have had a wonderful time. Even the rain would not have dampened by enthusiasm.
Ginger your report made me feel as though I was there. Thank you so much for the extra effort to take the wonderful photos and compose such a great report/story.
Here's hoping to see you in person next year.
Wanda
Aaah Ginger,
It will almost be like I'm there!!! I sent my Gallery Piece, so part of me will be there. Looking forward to the report on TBAI happenings.
