Lulu is really cute - love the alpaca. I tried it on a couple of bears thinking I wouldn't really like it - boy was I wrong! Great stuff

Hi Jan, Loftin is very cute! I love the tatted collar!
Although I have many making teddy books, the only two I refer to constantly is 101 Bears to Make and Teddy Bear Art by Jennifer Laing! Best books, ever!
I make my bears' clothing using the drape method with paper towels. Once the bear is completed, I pin paper towels onto him by poking the pins directly into his seam lines (he really doesn't mind) and cut the pattern lines out as I pin, allowing for whatever ease is necessary for the design. Once they are cut out, I take the paper towels off the bear and then sew them together on the machine using a long basing stitch. Then I try the sewn paper towel garment on him again and make any necessary adjustments. Once the garment fits like I want it to, I remove all the stitches and make a real pattern with all the edges soothed out and the seam allowances included. This works for dolls as well. Hope I explained this OK!
Gorgeous bears one and all! I am so ready for autumn, but here in Arizona, we still have a way to go!
Who knew hedge hogs were so cute!! Ozzy is adorable.
Welcome to TT! Your elephant is really cute - love the horn!
Heidi, Your are doing just fine! I have too been working with felting mohair back in, not only around the eyes, but other areas that I felt looked a little sparse! I went to Joanne's site and followed her instructions and, with a little practice, got very good results! It gets easier and faster as you practice. My first attempt, I took a piece of mohair and wrapped it tightly around some stuffing and used it for practice. I was all thumbs and found it rather hard to hold all those little strands of mohair, but it got easier. I have now used it on three bears, each better than the other! Keep up the good work, you are very talented
I do have to say that one thing about this type of communication is that there are no voice inflections or facial expressions to help with the meaning and is therefore easily misunderstood! There have been times when I have written something and come back later to say OMG, I didn't means this as it sounds! I've had my feelings hurt, too and found out it was not intended the way I took it. That having been said, there are also just some plain old nasty people out there regardless of the type of communication !
She has so much personality. All dressed up and I hope somewhere to go!
He is so very cute! hee haw!
Hi Beth, If Toasty keeps looking at you with that look in the picture, how can you refuse! I have a 7 year old German Shepherd named Bendigo. He's not quite as feisty as he used to be, but he can sure suck up attention! Sometimes I find myself at the dining room table trying to work on bears because he hates my sewing room and whines if I'm in there too long!!!
Your bears have the sweetest little faces!
Welcome, Anna. Your rabbit is very cute .
Just looking at your little bunny and his strawberry makes me happy!
