bunny.jpgEverything has been so serious lately so I thought I would lighten things up around here with a picture of a really BIG bunny. I have never seen one this big before.  He is kind of huggly and cute. Look at those feet!!!

Welcome back Claudia!  Great picture. It is so nice to see the lovely face of the person whom I am writing to.   bear_grin

I have had success with ordinary stick glue for the noses. You get just enough on the nose to hold the embroidery thread in place but not all over your hands.   bear_original

Deb,

Ewwwww....Celebrex.  I took it three years ago, 1 a day, because I had osteo-arthritis in my hip and had severe pain and a severe limp but wanted to put off my hip replacement surgery as long as possible due to my extreme fear of the surgery.   About a month after I started taking it, I started hemorraging (spelling?).  I looked up all the side effects and I had 3 out of 4 of them and my regular doc told me I was nuts and scheduled me for 3 major tests and biopsies and told me it was not the celebrex and she was sure there was something very wrong with me.  I got home, threw the Rx away and within a week I was okay.  When I went to my Ortho surgeon he told me my reaction was caused by the sulfa in the Celebrex. That was it, just an allergic reaction to the sulfa in the Celebres.   I had never had an allergy in  my life before then.  The Celebrex never make me nausious.

Moral:  Just be sure you have no allergies.  I am sure mine was an isolated case but  it freaked me out.  The drug worked as far as relieving the pain.  My Ortho doc put me on Arthrotec 75 and it worked better as far as relieving the pain and I had no side effects what so ever.

PS. I finally had to have the surgery...glad I did...I am pain free now.

Good Luck, Deb.

Hi Paula,

Here is my opinion but I think my situation is kind of unique.  I have not made/sold bears for over a year due to my personal situation. Previously, I sold all the bears I made and had a little reputaion going on. But now, a year later with no activity, no one knows who I am and it is like starting from the beginning again.  So once I made up my mind to get back into bear making, I decided to take advantage of the TB&F offer for advertising in their Sept/Oct. issue.  I thought this would be a fantastic way to kick off my "reborn"  passion.

As far as investing in advertising if you have a wonderful thing going already...I am not sure and would love to hear from established artist their take on it.    bear_original

Irene,

Ditto what Heather said.  When I did get to the bears....they were awesome.  But if I were surfing other bear sites, I am not sure I would wait either.  Would probably go on to another site.  Your bears are so good that I would hate to think someone would miss seeing them just because it would take longer than normal.

Hi Deborah,

I just wrote you an entire message and hit a button and it disappeared.  bear_wacko  I must be getting tired.  I purchased and Digital Rebel XT tonight!!!!       I am so excited.  I can hardly wait to use it.    Well I am too tired to try to recreate my first message right now so I will just say let me know how your pictures turn out  and good luck with them.  Thank you for your help.   bear_grin

Oh thank you everyone for your input!!!  One of the reasons that I was originally leaning to the Canon is that I had a Canon Rebel 35 mm and absolutely loved it and the quality of the pics and it was so easy to use.  So I was thinking of staying with that brand because I knew it was great.  I have a 5 year old Sony Cybershot and I like it but I wanted to upgrade so that I have more control on certain features such as lighting type.  But I also wanted to try to make an intelligent decision because of the $$ factor.  Usually I am an impulse person and am trying to resist that urge this time.

Deborah...are you saying that you do not have to use a professional photographer anymore now that you have your Rebel?  That would be awesome!   Did you know that Canon has a website that offers lessons for the Digital Rebel?  Here is the website: www.photoworkshop.com.
Our marketing dept purchased Canon Digital Rebel XT models and used these lessons and said they helped them tremendously.

Thank you all so much for your help.  Now I must go shopping and make some decisions.  :photo:

Welcome back Winney!

No matter how much you clean or shampoo carpets, they are never truly clean.  I think the wood floors will work much better for you. Glad your family is there to help you!

I know we have covered this numerous times in the past but.....I am seriously looking for a new camera.  I think I would love the the Canon eos digital rebel xt and I would run right out today and buy it but I am trying to do this intellectually (which is a first for me as I am really compulsive when I want something). bear_rolleyes

This is where your advice comes in to play.  With all of your combined experiences taking pictures of your bears, what cameras do you recommend? I am looking for all of the factors you feel are important such as  white balance control and any issue that makes your particular camera stand out.

I really would appreciate as much feedback as possible before I spend more money than is necessary to get great pictures.

Thank you!

Oh Tami I am so happy for you!  It is so hard to be away from family especially when it sounds like you have a close relationship.  Have a wonderful time with them and enjoy the time they are visiting!

Thank you for the information Shelli.  I am not a big fan of those drugs anyhow.  When I was going through one of the more difficult times in Feb., my doc put me on Lexapro which I took for a couple of weeks.  Didn't really see a difference so I stopped. I have learned that you have to go through the pain of it all (to a certain degree and depending on how servere) and feel your feelings so that you can deal with them and heal.  But if the depression and pain is so servere that you are considering harm to yourself or someone else, that is an entirely different story.

Back to my point. The paxil that the vet gave me for Maggie is 10 mg per pill. He told me to cut them into 4ths and give her 1/4 a pill a day.  When I got home I gave her one and she just disappeared for awhile and I couldn't find her.  I attributed this to the anxiety from the vet visit and having her temp taken which she really did not appreciate.  But she slept under a chair all night and only came out once in the morning before I went to work. Very uncharacteristic of her.  She was just very slow and not herself.   bear_wacko I was concerned and decided the paxil is not for her.  I will deal with her "behavior problem" another way.

Tami,

Love them both. They are absolutely gorgeous and you are very talented!!!!  Thank you for sharing with us!
