Oh my, what a big and handsome boy!

Jennie

Hi Lena! Thank you soooo much! bear_original
Yes, I have had my show and it was too bad mostly a show for kids. But a lot of fun!

Jennie

mojje1.jpgmojje2.jpgI'm sorry for the poor photo, it's very dark outside and the light bulb was broken in our living room where I took the photo!  bear_rolleyes

Just wanted Mojje to say "Hi" to you all, he is a comission bear who's leaving home in a few days!

Jennie

miniatyrnalle1.jpgMade a miniature bear last night (he has no name yet, poor thing!) and thought he would be suitable in the christmas challenge  bear_original  He is about 3" standing and made of viscose.

Jennie

Yeah, I guess I have to put my brown bear in a dark corner for a week or two and then take him out in the light again! bear_happy  I agree, sometimes you REALLY need a new first impression!

I will definitly try and make another bear and change the things I don't like. Peeew.... it's gonna be a lot of work... bear_cry

Jennie

OH, congratulations girls!!!

Jennie

Oh Judi, seeing your bear makes me wanna throw my out the window!! He is just maganific!!
I had so much trouble with the neck, I put it soo wrong (my bear looks like a camel from the behind!  bear_happy ). I guess that the neck should start more from the front of the body.

And how do I get the eyes to sink in? I couldn't come up with any ideas so I just did some needle sculpting and then glue some suede as eye lids.

Also, I think I need to try some needle felting...it seems like it is very useful to get expressions in your bears. The question is... how do I start?

Many questions here! bear_tongue

Jennie

Thank you Michelle! And your bears is just amazing!!! I wish I could do such a realistic bear too but I'm sort of stuck in the teddybear hole  bear_happy

OOh, Please please pretty please see if you can find the pattern you talked about!!  bear_original

Jennie

Ooops... I was suppose to put this topic under "teddybear making"! Sorry...hm... I wonder how I change that... bear_ermm

Jennie

bjoern2.jpgbjoernen3.jpgbjoernen1.jpgI have always wanted to make a realistic bear and I finally had the guts to make one! I had no clue how to do a double jointed neck and have never used more then 5 joints in a bear, so a bear like this who in the end got 12 joints is much for me!
It took me a while (and a few sleepless nights bear_rolleyes ) to figure out  how to make a workable pattern!

Anywooo, I'm not satisfied at all with the result cause he doesn't look that realistic to me, just like a.. eh... teddybear! bear_sad

How do you guys make a teddybear look realistic? I just couldn't figure out how to make the face look real. What materials do you use? I did only use fake suede, and fimo for the nose.... *run out of ideas*

Jennie

bjoernen3.jpgbjoern2.jpgbjoernen1.jpg... all though he is not THAT realistic, but I tried! bear_rolleyes Maybe next time I will be more satisfied.

He was a mess to do cause I have never tried more then 5 joints in a bear, never made a double jointed neck and NEVER made a realistic bear! Do I need to tell you that this bear held me up all night trying to figure out how to design a workable pattern?!

He is a big boy, 50 cm standing up, and has 12 joints, which makes him really poseable. I have made the nose out of fimo and paws of wool felt. The fur is synthetic (I didn't want to distroy an expensive piece of mohair  bear_ermm )

Jennie

This is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo (can't have enough of those "O") cute!

Jennie

MANY BIG THANKS!!! To all of yooooouuuu!! bear_wub
Well, the bears will be up on their site soon so that you can vote.. but I'll let you know!

By the way... Solomon is about 30 cm tall  bear_happy

Jennie

bim4.jpgI also has a nominiation in the Ted Worldwide and I'm thrilled! It's my dear little bear friend "Solomon" who has gotten the nomination  bear_happy

Jennie

Thanks to an other artist here on TT, I found out that I have a nomination for my bear Solomon!  bear_rolleyes So I'm thrilled!!

Jennie

I must say that Sassy looks so much more alive then the cat on the pattern! Good job!

Jennie

It's truly amazing how your bear just pop out of the picture, looking sooo real!!

Jennie

Wonderful work Judi (as always!  bear_tongue )!! He looks so alive!

Jennie

Hi there!

Do anyone have the newast magazine from Bärreport? I would be happy to know about who's the finalist in the award! I'm soooo curious!!

Jennie

Oh man, aren't I a happy girl (or should I say sad?) to hear that I'm not alone with this! I have had two acutions on bears this month but no bids! It really makes me loose confidence in my bears!  bear_sad

So, should we just wait for better times, or is there somewhere else we can sell?
Good luck to you!!
