Hi Laura, thank your for good question ! I wanted to know
about this too. I've always do eyes,ears,nose  before I put the head  to bear body and never though of doing other way....
Bytheway..can I ask why you have to stay away from
computer? we will miss you if you are gone away too long :P

Me too, I use forceps for miniature bear and
It works....but I needed allots of patient!!
(Oops, I only made 2 miniature bear so far..)

Sue Ann, it's so funny that Japanese call
forceps " Pincette "so I thought that
was correct English
I look up my dictionary and found out that
forceps was Pincette.    hee hee

Johnna, yes we do get many earthquake
in Japan. We had bad earthquake last year in
Northeast district(Niigata).
One of my bear was adapted to family in
Niigata and I heard that my bear were lost
in the earthquake ...   It's so sad.( i i )

In here Tokyo or Yokohama-city(My home town) we get 1 or 2 small earthquake all most every week , it's really scares us..

I lived in California before,
I've experienced 2 earthquake too....
1989/10/17..I was at San Francisco  bay area.
1994/1/17...I was at Los Angeles.
I can go on and on to talk about this day..

I'm just happy that I still alive now and
I found my work of lifetime *Bear Making*and
I found my bear friends here.

Rita, You can find about " Polymer Clay Nose"  at the previous post (POST DAY:11MAY)
" How do you affix polymer noses?".

I'm just making my first clay nose too :)
I bought *FIMO clay*(black) which need to be bake with oven. The craft shop person said
FIMO is most easy one to use and it comes in small size. 
I don't know if there is any non-bake one can use for nose....and wright now my problem is
how to knead this clay to make more smooth :rolleyes::rolleyes:

" drawing sewing line".

I start use the sewing machine from 6moth ago :(
I sew double line (sew twice) but it is really hard
for me to sew on same line....I think I just need
more practice on machine sewing first...

Hi! I'm with Laura and Judi and Kirsten,
I hand sew the bear's head and  footpads. I use staples too!(for hand base)

Laura, you can use machine for
         4" bear(10.16cm) !? wow !!!
         Amazing !!!!
         I use machine for 8" or  lager   
         bear only. I think I need more
         training for machine ....

As Laura said, me too, always keep a couple of legs or ears in my bags and
hand sew them when its possible. but
last time , I was at *Karaoke Bar*
with my friend and I was hand sawing
the paws while they ware singing :P
I ask them to turn the light up in the karaoke room and everyone was complaining at first but they were so interested to what I was doing :cool:
most of my friends are
now making bears and we don't go to karaoke bar anymore...we all stay home and sew sew sew ........hee hee

Hello everyone !

Eileen, I still not tried Loc-Line yet but I was told to use
Quilt cotton(the cotton in the quilt)   to wrap Loc-Line. I also never did
quilting before so I have to look up for
that one too... sorry for small information !
