He's absolutely lovely Sue Ann - all that time and effort has paid off ;)
I think that if you want to take the extra time to add double neck joints and tiny toes then you should - i know a lot of people like their bears to have these extra finishing touches - so if all the fidding around does'nt drive you nuts, stick with it!
If it does drive you nuts - forget it and continue making your lovely bears as before
Lifes too short for faffing about with toes hahaha

O MY WORD JANE - i shall try this recipe and if i get even fatter than i am now i shall blame it on you :D
Penny
O no Laure
I'm only feeling sad about selling me bear - as usual i'm as happy as a pig in poo :D
Penny
Hey Wanda
Yes, we are a lovely bunch of girls are'nt we?
I just can't resist checking in even when i should be doing something else - like now
Better than Prozac & Paxil eh? Yeah, i guess we are but i noticed Louise still won't give up the wine and choccies - good on ya girl!
Eileen - what are you doing with TS Eliot -does'nt he stink a bit in this hot weather seeing as he's been a goner for years? hoo hoo hoo
It's always a pleasure chatting with you lot of bearygirls
PennyPoodles - who should be doing the laundry but instead is visiting TeddyTalk
Hellooo Kim
I usually cut the ribbon at an angle - a V shape usually works. It won't stop the ribbon from fraying indefinitly but it does help. If the ribbon can take it - pop a teeny bit of fray check on the ends.
If it still frays Kim - chuck it in the bin and forget it :D

WHAT!!!!!! Why did someone have a go at you Judi? I've not been around much so don't know what's been going on.
Judi - you are a sweetheart and have always been kind, helpful and funny - i mean the funny bit in a nice way :D
Don't ever change a hair on your beautiful blonde head - we all love you as you are :)
Penny Poodles :P
Hiya Daphne
Obviously Laure and i are in different hemispheres here - her in John Steinbeck country me in a BUGS BUNNY cartoon!
The 'I'll love him and hug him and squeeze him and kiss him and call him George' quote is from a Warner Bros. cartoon where Bugs Bunny meets the Abominable Snowman.
This quote was obviously taken from the Steinbeck novel - but being a complete knuckle dragger myself i have never read the book and always remembered the cartoon
Penny :P:P
Kirsten
I wish i had read this posting before i sent you the details for making me an avatar - you should have said that you were still recovering from the operation Kirsten.
Don't worry about the avatar until you feel better sweetheart
I bet you'll have no problems getting pregnant once you recover from this operation Kirsten - i shall keep my fingers crossed for you both.
Penny
I love cats Sue Ann and i'm also very fond of spilling over
hee hee hee
Let's all go to Texas!
Penny
WOW - i shall go out and buy some thick tights this weekend and have a little play around. I think the fabric you are thinking of Laure is called stockinette over here
We should have a little friendly competition girls - we all buy a pair of tights and make a little critter and set a date for when we uplaod our photos.
What do you think?
Penny
LAURE - a talking avatar! How great would that be!
I'm glad that my bear 'speaks' to you, he did'nt say much to me before he was adopted cos i refused to let him have any of my chocolate
I was completely unaware that i EVER said anything poignant - i obviously live in a parallel universe of my own making
Poignant Penny
I slapped him about a bit Jane - just to let him know who was boss and then......
oooops no i better not say::P
Yes he paid for dinner - but he has the table manners of a pig (a pot bellied one)
hohohohohoho
Penny::D
Well, here i am girls - having lunch with George Clooney
I am looking a bit red faced as he has just made the MOST inappropriate suggestion!!!!
Of course i said YES
Penny
Helloooo Girls,
It seems that i'm one of the few people here that hand sew my bears - what is the advantage of using a machine?
I've got two machines, one is a 1914 Frister & Rossmann - which sews like a dream and looks even better - and the other is a 'Brother' an all singing, all dancing, electric model that i mainly use for making home furnishings - curtains, cushions and bedding.
I also do quilting and tapestry work as well as bear making and i never use a machine unless i have to - am i mad or old fashioned?
Or maybe just Old...........
Penny
You are a STAR Kirsten
I'll email all the info to you tomorrow as it's getting late here and i'm 'knackered' - translation: worn out!
Thanks a bunch :D
Penny
I hand sew all my bears just because i love hand sewing Kirsten.
But i can see the attraction of machine sewing
Penny
Yes Kirsten
That's exactly how i feel - i too have a few heads hanging around waiting for the 'right' body
Glad i'm not alone with working like this. It seems that a lot of us like to do the head last. I think that the head is so very special and needs time spent on it whereas i can sew, stuff and attatch limbs to a body quite fast - the head is certainly a mysterious thing to produce
Penny:D
WONKY
What a great word! - it seems to be able to describe soooo many different things does'nt it?
Glad to have been of service Sue-Ann
Hi Kirsten
Would you like to make an Avatar for me?
I'd really like to see what these sooper-dooper-flipper-dipper software packages can do
I may buy one myself but i'm always put off by the price - i can never be sure that i would use it enough to warrent spending the cost of a weekend in Paris
Penny:D
If you DO look like your bears Louise you'll be as cute as a button
C'mon Louise - show your face and i'll post a piccy of me WITHOUT the paper bag over my head
(You have been warned folks)
Penny
Mand me old fruit
You can always make another head out of a contrasting colour - it looks really good.
Try it the next time you feel like kicking the c**p out of another poor defenceless bear :D
Penny :P
P.S. I'm sooo glad you warned me about that particular supplier Mandie - i could have wasted a fortune
Grazie Mille Girls
Yes, i am rather beautiful are'nt i :D
Don't get miffed Laure!
I just cannot resist a joke - this as you can imagine - has got me in to LOTS of trouble in the past
I promise to be a good girl from now on
LET'S GET READY TO PAAAAAARRRRRRTTTTTYYYY :D:D
OK count me in girls - let me know the time and the place and i'll dig out my Jimmy Choos and Dolce & Gabbana shades!
SUE ANN A KERFUFFLE IS a 'to-do'- a 'hoo-ha' - a spot of trouble etc etc
I lurve parties and NO i won't be drinking Earl Grey
I would love to know why i would only be invited to an adult party Shelli - am i a bit too racy for the kids? But i like the sound of it being a grand party
Penny - the good time girl (apparently):D:D
My postie is profoundly deaf
fortunately i know his wife who is also profoundly deaf
i have to chase him down the high street if i just miss him and he has a parcel for me
what a kerfuffle!
Penny
Yeah and they must have a hump too
and wibbly wobbly joints that flip and flop a bit - i always test the joints to see if the bear can do a 'starfish'
if he can then he's jointed about right
I shift the bears head forward about a 1/4" so that his head hangs slightly
maybe i should get out more
Penny
