Oliver is very nice Amanda, well done
Matilda, go ahead and start a nose thread ;)
I have heard some other suggestions on another group just recently.
It seems that embroidered noses are still the norm and being used on the felted creations. I am actually surprised by this BECAUSE it never accured to me to embroider a nose......I just went ahead and felted one....the two, then three...you get the picture. I can not see my bears with any other type of nose. At the moment anyway. Maybe the different types of noses would make a good new topic, if anyone wantds to continue the conversation. Am eager to hear your points of view.
Ohhhhh too cute Jane, enjoy that cuddly dog;)
Great ideas everyone, thanks for the wonderful responses.
Excellent Laura, she is a real cutie
Jenny, All I can say is Ditto, This bear is a real winner, well done and goodluck with the fair.
It's been a little while since I caught up on this thread, there has been some lovely new additions, great work everyone, I have enjoyed seeing them.
Goodluck Shari, I do love him too, hope he sells well, what a great cause.
Judi, she is a real cutie girl, well done.
Judi, Griz is fantastic, great work
Dilu, Candy, due to the colours mainly, definitely not a country idiom.
Thanks for the comments everyone. No offence taken here Danni, I have thick skin from working in an office...
Now Dilu, good luck, you can never have too much wool either, and the pillow is a good idea. I use a piece of foam. ideal for shaping, arms and legs. Good luck with your projects, and watch those fingers, make sure you post a pic for us. Have lots of fun too.
I encourage everyone to give it a go, its very addictive.
Great work on your site Kim, don't forget to pop a photo of you on there.;)
Rita, that is very generous hope all works well. Sorry to hear of this terrible tragedy, it is very hard for us to believe.
Wow Dilu magic sunflower seeds, what have you been feeding them? They are amazing, I honestly have not seen sunflowers that big since a I was about 5
Arhhhh well I thought doing a needlefelted Golly was a unique thing, its hard to come up with something that hasn't been done before. :|Thats another topic on its own coming up with somthing unique.
Here is my latest Polar
Wow, some of you girls have your look down pat, even I can pick some of them now. Love your work too Chris.
Well I was beginning to worry about this very topic and the "Look", glad to hear I should keep dabbling and eventually it may just happen, thanks for starting this thread Shantell.
Thanks Marion, your link has been added as well, I love your group shots with the bears, what a great idea. Good work with your website.
Thanks Shelli.
How about kids brooch, I made one over the weekend, its a mini bear brooch for kids to wear. My only concern is using the beads for eyes, I am scared the kids will choke on them
Glad the repetition was mentioned, has anyone tried the needle knob's, are they worth purchasing?
Marion, please add me as a link, I will take a look at your site tonight.
Hi, just wondering what everyone does with their scrap/offcut pieces of mohair?
Would love to know if anyone has come up with a novel way of using the scrap pieces, that are not big enough to create bears with
Thanks Marie, the poll is now closed, you need to be a member of the group to vote sorry. No I didn't win either, there were some lovely items there too. I was happy with the winner. I have some better photo's of this golly on a white background, which show off the wild golly hair, I will upload to my website soon. Thanks again
Hi Danni, I recently made a felted golly for the MTE comp in Melbourne, I have not had a chance to load it to my website. You may have seen it on the Bearmakers of Aust Group poll. This is Candy, I know it is a shocking name, if anyone else has any suggestions let me know.
This is not a bear specific show, it is an artists market, so my fingers crossed that I might get some local interest in my own bears, or in bear making in general .;)
Your right there Donna, we just had one of our local Melbourne bear shows for the last time ever end last weekend, so that was very sad news
Arhhh I need friends like that, send them my way
