Wow that is great, I would like to use this flyer at next weekends show, if that is o.k?
I have enjoyed this thread, everyones bears are fantastic, Jo-Ann your real fur bears are fantastic, a lot of work there.
Daphne, Keeper is gorgeous, well done. I love what you have done with the soles of the feet and the way he stands, very posable and appealing.:)
Great work with Butternut too Jane. Your right the colours are appealing and go well together.;)
Daphne , good luck with your surgery, wishing you a speedy recovery.
Dilu, glad you tried the felting, enjoy.
Best of luck with the fire and your op.;)
Wow some great work here, thanks for sharing with us. I love needlefelting, great no patterns, yipeee... You can be as creative as you want to be. Give it a whirl girls, don't be shy.
Congrats Kirsten, how exciting, my pregancies were o.k. I remember the tiredness most of all, and the last few months. Its amazing how quick you forget too. Which is a good thing.
Kids grow way too quickly, so enjoy every moment while you can.
Donated two bears earlier this year to the Tsnuami Appeal.
Later this year I will do another to Cancer Research foundation. Raising funds through Relay for Life program.
I admire efforts to raise funds and donate to charity.;)
We had a bear shop close down a few months ago, it was about 30 minutes drive, it had all manufactured bears, artists bears, fabrics and bear accessories, I use to buy a lot of fabrics and bear things from there, its called Teddy Bits, they now operate from home and can be visited by appointment. Now I tend to buy things on line or at bear shows.
I have a bear shop opened about 20 minutes away about 2 months ago, which mainly has manufactured bears and starting to stock some bear supplies, just hope they stay in business for long enough.
Anything else is over the other side of town about 1 hour plus drive.
Daphne, love your work there, i am a needlefelter, here is one of my latest on this Avatar, meet KeeKee and Son (Mother and son polar bears)
Well said Tammy, I agree with this, its all true. Shelli Enjoy the moment, your very well deserving ;)
I agree with the others that you have no reason to have mixed feelings. Just enjoy the moment and let us all share it with you. You truly deserve to be awarded for your talent.
I just realized that we have bears in the same hug at a collectors house !!!!!! I may never meet you in person , but knowing that our bears have met and live in the same house makes me tingle inside. What an honor for me that is !!!!!
Thank you for all that you do for for this board with your knowledge and kindness. You are an inspiration to all of us.
Well done Danni, I am liking your new design, Violet is definitely my favourite.
Great Work Dilu, very original, excellent. ;)
I admire anyone that works with Synthetic, I cannot come to grips with the feel of it. Must try it someday.
Shelli, what a grand achievement, well done, and cheers to you.
Lynn, Baby Deegan is way cute, thanks for sharing. ;)
Thanks for the comments girls on Miss Molly the Golly hehehehe
Winney, make sure you find out what method of shipping they are using from Australia to US. It sounds like some sort of Express postal service.
If it is Express postage - it will be expensive you will receive it very quickly within a few days about 3 days.
Airmail is reasonable but you will receive your parcel within 7 days
Ask for Economy airmail, it is the most reasonably priced, you will receive withing 7 to 10 days, I always send to the US with this method.
Hope this helps you out.
Well done Pam and Sue Ann on your publications, thanks to Jane for sharing with us.
Dilu, I have enjoyed this post, and had a little giggle thanks everyone you have cheered me up.
Welcome to Matilda too, make sure you come back now Another Aussie to the group. yay...
Well I am an only child, spoilt somewhat but not completely, shy, quietly spoken, great Mum, very strict Dad.
Went through school being very quiet, reserved, good grades, known as a real giggler in class and a little distracting. Love a good laugh, and use sense of humour where ever I can.
Was a mad Peanuts fan, still am, and went throught the Abba craze, sorry thought I would mention it. But Bay City rollers didn't do much for me.
I don't recall doing anything as funny as Daphne, or some of you other girls. But I must say I do sometimes laugh at peoples misfortunes which is not very nice, shame on me, I know its not very nice, but I cannot help it sometimes.
Anyway my dear friend at the time accidentally slipped on wet railway tracks whilst running to catch a train, I saw here from the corner of my eye slipping, and landing dead smack on her rear, she had this look of shock on her face, and it was a really dumb looking facial expression she had too, as if to say "did that really just happen". I turned and ran back to her to offer some assistance and lift her up off the road, she was o.k. She said she was o.k, then I burst into laughter, I told her I saw her slip over, fortunately was o.k. and laughed about it later on as well, shame on me. She was one of those clumsy people who always had something funny happen to them, or a silly story to tell, so thats probably what made me laugh at her inexpense. Thats one of my naughty traits anyway.
Judi, I love your new bears, truely gorgeous.
Daph, I am sure your Mooseltoes will do very well, what a great idea.
Here is my latest golly, her name is Molly.
I ship things regularly to the US, Aus postage isn't too bad compared to US shipping to Australia.
It really depends on size and weight of course.
Marie, your site is wonderful. Jane that is so nice of you to do that, well done.
I have had this happen too.
I follow the same method as Sarah with pinning from the eye back, to make sure they are even on both sides of the head and ensure that it will fit, the fabric may also have some give as well.
An ideal way of getting your patterns to fit is to use paper version of them and double check they fit before committing them to fabric. I find this works best for me.
Hope this helps and don't give up.
Thanks Girls for all the wonderful input and comments. ;)
Well the new owner has decided on Cindy for a name, no objections there.
Cool, thanks for sharing Shelli
Good photo there Danni of your girl Rose well done, thanks for sharing. Its not as easy as it seems sometimes. ;)
I am finally finally glad to have finished my latest girl, her name is "Indy" or maybe "indiana" I haven't decided yet. I was trying to compliment her with some indian type jewellery. I didn't have any feathers around at the time. Then attaching the feathers was another topic on its own. Anyway her she is.
Looking forward to some comments, does she look like a girl???
